Being a bit slow on the uptake, I have only just realised the PokerStars hand problem of 2nd/3rd February. I managed to purge OK. My manual import did seem to work as well, but on doing so I got this message a few times:

Warning: Encountered cancelled hand history. (Line #15804)

Do I need to worry about this?

Also, I seem to remember in the past having to do some manual copying over of files after doing a manual import. Is this still something I have to do?

Cancelled hand histories are normally hands where someone posted a blind but everyone else sat out - this leads to a partial hand history which obviously can't be imported. You can check the hand history file to see if that is the case here, and if not let us know and we'll check it out for you.

Manual Import doesn't move hand history files automatically, so depending on what you imported you may need to move them. If you re-imported from the Processed folder there is nothing to move. If you requested hand histories from PokerStars and imported those then you may want to move those files into the Processed folder too, but as long as they are not in the normal PokerStars hand history folder then they won't cause any problems.

Hi, when I load PT3 a small window pops up entitled 'Configure PostgreSQL Database.' It seems as if my database has either been deleted or misplaced somehow. I have the trial version so I cannot create a new database.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Can somebody please help me fix this.
02-20-2012 , 03:52 AM
Did you have it working before, or is this when you first run PT3?
Was PostgreSQL installed when you first ran PT3?
If you already had PostgreSQL installed you will need to use the existing password - if you tried another tracker try 'postgrespass'.

Do you see PostgreSQL in the Windows services list? (click Start and type 'services')
Is it started?
Can you start it?

Okay, the password worked. I'm still having problems though.

Here's what it says when I begin auto import. I assume this is normal and should indicate that everything is working properly. However, my HUD does not display and stats appear under "Texas Holdem".

2012/02/20 13:23:29: Auto-Import beginning
2012/02/20 13:23:29: PokerStars: Starting auto-import.
2012/02/20 13:23:29: PokerStars: Found 2 files to monitor.
2012/02/20 13:23:29: PokerStars: Loading hand history file: C:\Users\Shane\Documents\rlyBADplayer\rlyBADplayer \HH20120220 Eltigen III - $0.02-$0.05 - USD No Limit Hold'em.txt
2012/02/20 13:23:29: PokerStars: Loading hand history file: C:\Users\Shane\Documents\rlyBADplayer\rlyBADplayer \HH20120220 Morrison VII - $0.02-$0.05 - USD Pot Limit Omaha.txt

Here's what I get when I try to import HH manually:

2012/02/20 13:19:43: Import beginning
2012/02/20 13:19:43: Import file: C:\Users\Shane\Documents\Poker Database\01-22\HH20120122 Alhena - $0.01-$0.02 - USD No Limit Hold'em.txt
2012/02/20 13:19:43: Unrecognized file format.
2012/02/20 13:19:43: Import complete. 0 hands in 1 file were imported. (0 errors, 0 duplicates)
2012/02/20 13:19:44:
2012/02/20 13:19:54: Housekeeping...
2012/02/20 13:20:01: Housekeeping complete.

Immediatley after import is complete, it asks me to do a Housekeeping.

I had PT3 working fine for about a month, then I went on a month long road trip. I was using unsecured wi-fi signals which is when PT3 began to give me that "Configure PostgresQL Database" message.

I recently uninstalled and reinstalled PT3 and PostgresQL. I have version 9.0 of Postgres

Hi, I've been on a 2 month break from poker playing on PS with PT3 before that. I've just came back and tried to load up PT3 (bought full-version) but the HUD does not seem to show up at all. I tried to turn it on/off and it says 0 files to monitor.. when I opened 2 tables it said sometimes found 2 files to monitor but no HUD was ever shown. I made absolutely 0 changes to the system/configurations for some reason it just doesnt want to work.... what should I do ?

Also I have a checkmark beside Pokerstars showing its running, in the auto-import tab

LedZep and miraclechipmunk:

It sounds like you both are experiencing the same symptoms. You'll need to upgrade to our latest beta version (3.11.10) and then everything should work properly for you both. 3.10 will not work with PokerStars due to a change in their hand history format.

any chance of a link to the reinstall/uninstall guide
02-20-2012 , 05:41 PM
Unfortunately due to 2+2 policy I cannot post the link for you in this thread. However if you go to the main PokerTracker website, click Products then Guides, then Databases on the left hand side you will find it.

Thank. I went into services to try to start postgres and it said it was starting and its been like that for a while now, how long willit take to start ?
02-21-2012 , 02:51 PM
It shouldn't take that long - click Start type Event Viewer and click on it. Look in the Applications area and you will likely find some errors relating to PostgreSQL - if you tell me what the errors say, I'll be better able to help you figure out the right next step.

Hi...

Does PT3 have stats for "Postflop AFq"? (i.e AFq but excluding preflop)
If not, can someone post his, please?
02-21-2012 , 07:31 PM
Thanks Kraada that solved my problems.

I've been trying to find a simple F3B as PFR stat to no avail.

"Fold to PF 3b when raised" = fold to PF 3b when raised not including steals.

I want a F3b stat that = Hero raises first pre-flop and folds to a reraise from BOTH non-steal and steal positions.

Is this available on the PT3 website? Or is it already in the program? I'm searching and can't find it.

In my program I have the following F3b stats:
"Fold to PF 3Bet When Raised"
"Fold to PF 3Bet"
"Fold to 3Bet"

I know the first one won't work, I know at least one of the last two is bunk as well, but I can't figure out how to look up their definitions.
02-21-2012 , 09:14 PM
How is ev line calculated? If im 52 percent favorite in a $100 pot is my all in ev +$100 or $+52? Thanks

I'm not 100% sure, but as far as I know:
F to PF 3b when raised = you raise from CO, BU 3bet you fold. <---- you sure mean this
F to PF 3b = including when UTG raise CO 3bet BU fold. BU "F to PF 3b" going up
F to 3b = including all streets

The stat "Total AFq" does not include preflop actions.

This would need a custom stat - please start a thread in the forum on the PokerTracker website and we'll be able to help you more directly.
For reference, you can see how stats are built via the menu Configure > Configure Stats.

For a full explanation go to the PokerTracker website and click Support > PT3 > Guides. In the Tutorials section look for "Expected Value (EV) Graphs".

Please try the password 'postgrespass' (without the quotes) and see if that works for you.

Hi i just bought PT3, I have a few questions.

1) I want to get all my stats from the SNG/MTTs ive played so far this year (about 4000), since i do not have all the HHs on my computer what is the best way to go about doing this? It is very important to me that the numbers are 100% accurate, no missing rebuys, games, profit etc etc.

2) The reason i bought this was because the site said if i buy now its a free upgrade to PT4, how will that work? will i get a code emailed when PT4 ships?

1) If you do not have the hand histories on your computer then you will need to request them from your poker site's support.

2) I don't know the details, but I expect you will get an email. Rest assured, if you follow poker forums at all you won't miss the launch, and we'll make it easy for you to update.

You need to update to the latest version 3.11.11 Beta which works with the new format of PokerStars hand histories.
Scroll down the download page a little to find it.

Hi guys,

Will PT3 support zoom poker once it's out? It's already on the PS test client and I'm concerned it won't work with my hud when it's released.

Thanks
02-26-2012 , 07:16 AM
The development team are well aware of Zoom poker and we hope to be able to support it fully but that will depend on exactly how the tables work and I don't yet know what technical challenges may occur. Rest assured we want to support this as much as you do.
