If you import the xlsx file into a spreadsheet application I'd expect you to be able to export it as a .csv from there.

Are you working with Pokerstars to make sure the PT3 HUD will work with Pokerstars' upcoming "fast-moving ring-game product?" If not, could you?

I'm afraid we do not comment on unreleased technologies, so if we were working with PokerStars on this new technology - then we could't talk about it. So if anyone from PokerStars is reading this post, and if we are not already working with Stars to support the new "fast-moving ring-game product", then please contact us. Of course if we are already working with Stars to support this ""fast-moving ring-game product" then there is no need to contact us.

Is that vague enough?

PS: all joking aside, due to our no-comment policy all we can say is that we are aware of the new product from PokerStars but we have not disclosed any plans to support it yet - sorry about that!

Anyone can tell me how to get PokerTracker to work correctly with fifty50's? I heard that even if you cash in them, it shows as a loss on PT3.

If you're not using the latest version 3.11.6 Beta please update.
PT3 should detect the results correctly for Fifty50s using the Tournament Auto Detect mechanism (check out the Tournaments FAQ in the forums on the PokerTracker website for more info on that) but if you enable saving of tournament summaries in the PokerStars software PT3 can also import the results information from those files when you configure it to import from the summary folder - again see the same FAQ for info.

re: PokerTracker 3

Hi PT team,

So I see from the FAQ that you are allowed to register 2 computers per license. Ok, so I had 2 computers using PT3, but one of them has totally died. So this week I bought a new laptop to replace my broken computer. So my question is how can I deregister PT3 from my computer that is broken and change the registration to my new computer?

Thanks for your response.

re: PokerTracker 3

Hi Ben,

No need to worry about that - computers that no longer exist (or no longer have PT on them) do not count against you. You shouldn't have any problem installing PT3 using your registration code on your new laptop.

re: PokerTracker 3

Hi just trying to configure PT3. having a problem with it assigning the right table types.
I played 8, MTT 5-table turbo SNG's and they show up as:
4 MTT's
3 MTT turbo's
1 MTT 5-table turbo SNG

so this doesnt work with filters properly

I use "Auto Tournament Detect" in import options
but I don't have "Overwrite Tournament Summary Data" box checked

any suggestions? thanks.

re: PokerTracker 3

Because most sites don't provide much tournament type information in their hand history files (or even summaries) we have to detect the type based on the structure and progress of the tournament, and that doesn't always provide enough information to get the type exactly right. Detecting the number of tables is especially tricky as we only have information about the one table that you're playing at.
Please compress those 8 hand history files and attach them to a support ticket on the PokerTracker website and we'll see if the detection rules can be improved to detect the types more accurately.
In the meantime you can set the types manually via Tournaments > Enter Results.
If you play one particular type of tournament normally you can set the defaults to reflect that by clicking the Auto Detect button on that window and making changes to the lower section of the window that pops up.
For more information please check the Tournament Auto Detect tutorial in the forums on the PokerTracker website. If you have more questions please post there and we'll be able to help you more directly.

I am not using the latest version, and I have no idea how to update to it.
Also, it always shows that I lost the buyin, and I always need to manually configure it, any way for me so that it can auto recognize it?
Also, I was fooling around with the Stars directory ( I changed the location of it) , so now it wouldn't auto import....
help?

To update PT3 go to the download page on the PokerTracker website. Scroll down to v3.11.6 Beta and download/save the file.
Close PT3 and all your poker sites.
Run the installer.

The latest version should detect results and prizes for most tournaments, but if you configure PokerStars to save tournament summaries as well as hand histories, and PT3 to import both then your results should be complete.
Please read the PokerStars Configuration Guide in the Guides and How-To's section of the PokerTracker website.
For more information on tournaments, including how to set up tournament summary files in PokerStars, see the FAQ:Tournaments in the FAQs and Tutorials section of the forum on the PokerTracker website.

re: PokerTracker 3

Does PT use the dealt method or contributed way of calculating rake?

I feel like I'm being scammed by Cake. They offer 33%RB and I received $17 after this last sesh.

PT records last sesh, Rake- $157 MGR- $166

Just wanna make sure I'm not mistaken here before I go bitchen.

Hmm, PT3 had some problems calculating Cake rake before and the number would be wayyyy off. I thought that was fixed.

The default "Rake" value in PT3 is the amount of rake taken out of pots when you won the hand - this is going to correlate some to a weighted-contributed method, but will not exactly mirror it. We do have WC calculating stats available in our repository on our website for free download that you can use. The one built by me (kraada) for FTP is probably the easiest to work with - you can just edit the rakeback stat to whatever percentage you prefer (instead of 27%).

re: PokerTracker 3

I have been a long time user of PT3 and have never had any problems but recently 6 max turbo sngs ($1.06)(merge) are not having the buy in amount nor prize money entered(have to manually do so). I can put them in by stopping auto-import and going through tournaments>enter hold em results, but this gets tedious and time consuming for large numbers. I have seen a few others with the same problems, has this been resolved at all?

re: PokerTracker 3

It could be that these are new tournaments or have recently changed, and because Merge do not specify the buy-in or prizes in their hand histories PT3 has to infer the information from the tournament name - therefore if a new tournament type is added or one changes we need to update the Tournament Auto Detect configuration.
Please attach the full original hand history file for one of these tournaments to a support ticket on the PokerTracker website and we'll look into adding the relevant information.
Thanks.

re: PokerTracker 3

Please reboot your computer and then run PT3 using the "Logging Enabled" option in the Start menu. Leave it for about 15 minutes and then attach the PokerTracker.log file from the main PokerTracker 3 folder to a support ticket on the PokerTracker website. That will let us see where the problem is.
For more information see the tutorial on reporting a problem in the FAQs and Tutorials section of the forum on the PokerTracker website, or start a new thread there and we can help you more directly.

Hi, I purchased PT3 like a day before I saw the preview for PT4 on your website. I know on your website it says "get a free upgrade to PT4 when you buy it now" but since I purchased a bit before this showed up do I still get a free upgrade? Thanks.

re: PokerTracker 3

Hi,

My mission to find a way to track rebuy tournament results correctly continues.. And my question is, is it possible to just manually import the tournament summary that I receive from pokerstars by email, and get the correct rebuy and addon amounts? I tried getting pokerstars to email me the tournament summary in .csv format, but they couldnt do that, they've can give it in .html format and .xslx and .txt and I've tried to manually import those into pokertracker, but they were all an 'unrecognised format' says pokertracker.. I am using the trial version, could that be the problem?

Is there any solution to this? What formats can pokertracker manually import? I wouldn't like to use pokertrackers auto import to track the rebuy results, only manually import the tournament summaries afterwards, if that would be possible.

The cutoff date for PT3 purchases getting a free upgrade to PT4 is June 10th, 2011.

Unfortunately PokerStars do not include full rebuy/addon even in their summaries so you won't be able to import the full results automatically.
You should be able to get accurate results from their audit files - PT3 will import these in CSV format.
Please start a new thread in the forum on the PokerTracker website and we'll be able to help you in more detail.

re: PokerTracker 3

If you're not using the latest v3.11.6 Beta please update. However, it doesn't seem likely that is the problem - it sounds like the files are not encoded properly, or possibly PostgreSQL is using the wrong encoding. Are these original hand history files written as you played?
Please open a support ticket on the PokerTracker website and attach one of the files which doesn't import (you will need to compress it first - if you're not sure how just open the ticket and we'll be able to help you more directly there).
