Actually, it's about 10 GB / 1 million hands. I'm not sure if that's vacuumed or not though, it wasn't an official measurement, just a quick estimate based off the size of the PostgreSQL data directory.

In the upper right corner there's a button labeled "Filters". Click that and then filter on whatever you want.

Re: PokerTracker 3 (Beta 4 Release - 13-Feb-08)

My data folder shrunk to 75 gb after I ended the PT3 process.

I vacuumed a little while ago.

PT Pat gave me an sql command to see how many hands I had for pt2.
Is there something I can type in for pt3?

Thanks.

Code:
SELECT COALESCE(COUNT(id_hand),0) FROM holdem_hand_summary;
or
Code:
SELECT COALESCE(COUNT(id_hand),0) FROM tourney_holdem_hand_summary;
depending if you want cash hands or tournament hands.

Would be possible to see villain's (from PAH) stats in the table when a hand is replayed? I think that it could be interesting

Re: PokerTracker 3 (Beta 4 Release - 13-Feb-08)

I exported about 650,000 hands from 2007 from PT2 and imported them into PT3 beta 3. I remember seeing a small difference between the net$won between PT2 and PT3.

Now with PT3 beta 4, I created a new DB and re-imported the same hands. Now the difference in net$won between PT2 and PT3 grew bigger... to about $800 now (hands are from ssnl and msnl). The hands are from both Pokerstars and FTP. The net$won for all hands filtered only for Pokerstars matches up between PT2 and PT3. The difference comes from the hands from FTP. If I had to guess, I would say PT3 (or PT2) is having hiccups with the pseudo-6-max tables on FTP... the 5-max ones that have one seat reserved for a specific player. The "total hands" in my PT3 DB matches with the PT2 DB... it's only in the "amount won" for FTP hands where there's a difference.

Do you know why this is happening and which #s are more accurate?

Hi just joining in the BETA Testing. I must say everything looks good so far.

I wanted to give some suggestions for the replayer, I tried searching this massive thread first but it is extremely difficult to read every single reply so sorry if this has been brought up already.

Would like a built in hand converter for the major forums and HTML/UBB Code etc.

Will be playing around with it more this week, hopefully I can provide some good feedback

If you could find the hands where the amount won is different between PT3 and PT2 and attach them to a support ticket on our site, it would be a great help.

Go ahead and give us your suggestions. It's not a big deal if we get some repeats. As for a hand converter, this is planned.

At least a couple more weeks before any new sites are added.

Are there any planned updates to the db that will shrink this at all?

I am primarily playing from a bootcamp partition on a my macbook, and 10 GB/million hands is going to be a problem for me.

Yes, eventually, but PT2 will be supported for a while after PT3 is released.

You will be able to remove the hand history information from the database. You'll lose replayer functionality though. You can already import observed hands without saving the histories.

We have a user on our forum who gave some hard numbers. With PostgreSQL 8.2, it was approximately 7.3 GB per million hands. With PostgreSQL 8.3, it was approximately 5.3 GB per million hands. Regular vacuuming of the database will keep the database smaller.

Currently, PT3 only supports PokerStars, Full Tilt, and PartyGaming. More sites will be supported in a few weeks.

Re: PokerTracker 3 (Beta 4 Release - 13-Feb-08)

This probably will be hard to answer, but when PT3 gets released, out of beta and I pay for it, I'm planning on reinstalling my windows for a fresh copy and reimporting around a million played hands and about 35 million observed hands. Is there a chance that after a few updates it I will have to reimport all my hands, or will I be safe to import them on the first proper release? Thanks

After we're done with beta, PT3 will automatically make any necessary changes to the database, so you won't have to create a new database and re-import everything.

Cake support is unlikely. They seem to be set in their stance of being against any sort of trackers.

We're hoping for a mid-March release, though late-March is more realistic.

Re: PokerTracker 3 (Beta 4 Release - 13-Feb-08)

Now that PT3 is relatively bug-free, we can start on the interesting features. Here's what's going to be available in the next beta:

See that "Customize" menu item? Well, that's how you get to the "Configure Stats" window that lets you create nearly any kind of stat you can imagine. Not only that, but you can add color conditions - for both the tracker AND the HUD when it becomes available. Guess what? The color conditions aren't just limited to the value of the stat either! You can add any sort of condition you want. The possibilities are limitless.

The Reports tab isn't completed yet, but it's far enough along to give you a sneak peak. Creating new custom reports is a piece of cake. Choose the section you want, double-click the stats to add them to the report, save and run. You can filter it based off stat values or the value of any column associated with the section your report falls under. In the screenshot, you can see the color condition at work (though I'm only using it on the Limit stat). You'll be able to export these reports and send them to a friend. If your report uses a custom stat you created, these will also be included in the exported report.

Along with custom reports, you'll be able to configure the existing reports. You'll be able to add or remove stats as you see fit, even your custom stats.

I hope this sneak peak gives those of you who think PT3 is just a face lift of PT2 a new perspective. Our framework is very powerful and flexible, and we're starting to be able to reveal that to you.

The HUD will show any statistic you want, and will be able to show stats by position as well.

Re: PokerTracker 3 (Beta 4 Release - 13-Feb-08)

Just thought I'd report an apparent bug in PT3 beta4 (it may have been mentioned, haven't read).

I imported a number of $5.50 SNG hand histories and summaries from pokerstars.

PT3 correctly tallied the 1/2/3 finishes, but does not show the correct winnings nor ITM%. One finish was registered as a non-win it seems.

PT2 works as expected with the same files.

I thought I'd try this by exporting the sessions (by table) from PT2 and PT3 into excel and comparing the lists to see where the discrepancies are but when I try to export from PT2 I get this error... It seems to be trying to make a Access query when my PT2 DB is in pgsql 8.2??.. Any ideas?
