Then all of your hands are already in the database.

I actually bought PT3 not aware of the fact that entering tournament results is such a massive inconvenience. TBH I would rather be grinding than sitting at my computer fiddling with your software.
If I could turn back time I would get Holdem Manager and I will suggest other people do the same if I am ever asked. I mean, why has automatic tournament result input not been incorporated into your software? It is a ridiculous ballache.

So Husng should fall under this category, yes?

Most sites do not write tournament results information, or at least not in detail, so there is no information for any tracker to import. PT3 has an Auto Detect mechanism to automate as much of this is possible.
Please read the Tournaments FAQ for more information.

Yes, but only if buy in information is available. IIRC Merge do not specify the actual buy in, so PT3 can't calculate the prize. I understand that the tournament names imply the buy in, and we have this in our system to be automated but I do not have a timescale for that yet.

For the record, this fixed it. Oddly I haven't had any hard drive problem whatsoever and I hope this isn't a precursor to things to come:

The second reason for this error is a result of faulty hardware. You can set PostgreSQL to ignore these errors by clicking Start --> Programs --> PostgreSQL --> Configuration Files --> Edit postgresql.conf. In the configuration file that appears, go to the bottom of the file and add the text “zero_damaged_pages = on” on a new line and then save and close the file. Click Start --> Programs --> PostgreSQL --> Reload Configuration and PostgreSQL will ignore the damaged data. If you continue to have problems with that hard drive, you should consider replacing it.

You may want to run "chkdsk" to see if there are any other errors.

I never used pokertracker before and am trying it for the first time. What is PostgreSQL and how do i install it?
02-16-2011 , 01:19 PM
PostgreSQL is a free database program - in particular it's the database program that PT3 uses to store its database in. PT3 should download and install PostgreSQL for you automatically when you attempt to install PT3. If it doesn't, you can download it directly from the PostgreSQL website - any version 8.3 or newer will function properly.

I'm having a few problems with my HUD when playing at Rush poker tables and was wondering if someone could help me out.

1. Experiencing random pop up of the HUD when playing rush. Sometimes it shows during a hand and then it just disappears again. Unlike a normal cash game table or tournament where I see it the whole time. My holdem cache is setup at 100%. Is there something else I'm missing?

2. I'd like to see my own stats aswell while playing rush poker, but somehow the Player Stat setting "Show on table for everyone" doesn't work. Again, this setting works for normal cash tables and tournaments.

I'd appreciate it if someone could help me out. Thank you!

Hero stats do not currently function for Rush Poker - this is a known issue that is due to the way that sessions are currently being handled. It is something we would like to add for a future release but I don't know at this point when that functionality will be made available.

Regarding the flickering, what version of PT3 are you currently using?
02-16-2011 , 05:54 PM
Was wondering if it was possible PT3 coul add a few more stats to the HUD. Was going to change my HUD hoping there would be certain stats, but it's not there. The stats are cbet 3bet flop and turn. Another was check/raise float on turn. Are these possible to add onto the list?

Thanks for the fast reply. I didn't know of the issues with rush. Is it a technical problem?

I'm using Version 3.06.2

Check/raise vs turn float you would need to build as a custom stat but all of the others are available by default. For details on how to add stats to your HUD please see the HUD FAQ and linked documentation.

3.06.2 is quite old at this point, please upgrade to at least 3.08.1 or preferably 3.09.3 - we have improved Rush performance considerably since 3.06.2 and things should work much more smoothly on these newer versions.

Will this interfere somehow with my current database/HUD settings or will the update not change any of these?

Is there a way to keep the database on a shared drive or in a Dropbox folder so that I can install Poker Tracker 3 on both my desktop and laptop and still have access to the same stats? I use my desktop most of the time, but when I travel, I use my laptop so I don't want to lose stats just because I'm traveling. I couldn't find a way to change the location of the SQL database.

does anyone known of a thread here on how to effectively use pt3 for studying purposes?
02-16-2011 , 11:59 PM
for example, I want to see all of the biggest pots that i've played and grab them and play them in a player without having to go through each starting hand.

Your databases will need to be updated, but all of your settings and data should be retained.
You can make a Backup before you upgrade, though, to be on the safe side. (It's a good idea to make regular backups anyway, as you would for any important documents.)

See the Database / PostgreSQL FAQ for links to how to do this.

If you view the Hands tab by Final Hand instead of Starting Hand your hands will be split into less groups and it will be much quicker to play through the bigger pots (you can sort the report by clicking on the Amount Won column header).

I need help creating my HUD and custom statistics, as I'm a total PTR n00b since I've been using HEM since it came out.

I want to build a lot of custom stats and have an idea of what stats I want but I don't understand the PDF helper and don't really have time to just sit there and fiddle with it as I'm going for 3 million VPPs.

Is anyone experienced with this or already have a HUD layout with several good, useful custom stats that is well organized? I play 16-20 tables at once so it needs to be possible for the stats to be located quickly and efficiently in the pop up.

Can anyone help me?

You can find my personal HUD in this thread. If you haven't seen it, the Tutorial: Using Custom Statistics and Reports is excellent and well worth reading.

And if you have any specific questions, feel free to shoot me a PM or post about it in the PT3 forums and I'll be happy to give you a hand.

I couldn't find the cbet 3bet flop and turn. I found fold to 3bet cbet, call 3bet cbet, and raise 3bet cbet, but not 3bet flop and turn.

I'm not exactly certain what you are looking for - could you expand a little on what you just said?

I updated to v3.09.3 beta now, but am still having the same issues with rush poker HUD (not being there all the time, random pop up).

Is there something else that might be the problem?

Maybe speed of play or not having hand samples vs. opponents (although according to my settings it should already show after 1 hand)?

Also, is there a tutorial somewhere on how to add rakeback in my graphs?

You will only see stats for players that you have played at least one hand against, so you won't get stats for everyone.
If you're not seeing stats for players you know you've played please check the FAQ: PT3 HUD for common solutions and tuning tips, and a link to how to report your problem.

If you have a rakeback stat (there are some in the "Get More" section) then you can add it to the Session Stats view of the graph, and in that window you can configure it to sum the results. You can only see additional stats with the View Session Stats option.
