Please check the FAQ: PT3 HUD.

Also, is it normal for PT3 to use up to 2GB of RAM?
This is a known issue in v3.07.5 and is fixed for the next release, which I'm expecting within a few days now, assuming no major issues come up in alpha testing.

I cant get PT3 running.

When opening it I get the following message:

Quote:
Error connecting to default database.

Please select one of the valid databases below or create a new one.
Note: It may take time for the Database List to fully populate.
Problem is I cant select any of the 6 databases listed below and I cant create a new one.

I run Windows Vista. Any chance it coult be connected with the update Vista installed this morning? Any other reason?

It's possible - have you restarted your computer since the update was installed?

Hello nice peoples. I am in need of help.

How do I get the hud to track last "x" # of hands?

Creating a new db and starting over is the best solution I have found, but that sucks.

There's an option in Hud Configuration, but afaik, it slows it down (something with the cache - idk, I'm not technical). It may have been something that's been fixed, also. I don't remember for sure. It's also possible that the slowdown isn't that bad - I've never tried it because of the warning about the slowdown. Ymmv.

hud doesnt function for me when i try that

For someone like me who plays 2M+ hands/year, the hud is often counterproductive without this function. Needs to be addressed asap plz.

Support ticket time, IMO. (Maybe it's a known issue - idk.)

I went through the pt3 forums with this a year or so ago. Was just hoping it might be solved by now.

kraada help me out here. cant you guys do something about this?

The problem is that when you do last X hands, we can't use the database cache. The database cache has summed up all of the stat you might want for all of the players for their lifetime data. If you set X to 1000 and look for the last 1000 hands of data on each player, each time the HUD needs to see a player we need to query the database for their last 1000 hands, then calculate each and every stat you need on the fly. It's much more resource intensive - it might work depending on your computer and the complexity of your HUD, and it might not.

We are investigating ways to make this less of a problem but it would require a large redesign to the cache and so is not a small project.

You might find something like the Tutorial: Managing Multiple Databases useful, although if these are all "played" hands then splitting databases would mean that you couldn't view all of your own stats in the tracker at once.

Hi guys, just downloaded the trial, hands are being imported now but the HUD doesnt appear when i fire up a table, is this normal or do i need to activate it?
10-14-2010 , 07:19 PM

This is not helpful.

I need the last ~5k hands on all my opponents because that's what's relevant. What my opponents did a year and a half ago, or 100,000 hands ago is not relevant.

What I get from your product is a gigantic db that just continues to fill and like I said it becomes counterproductive at times. For example, if I have 150k hands played with RobertFripp showing him at 17/16/2.5, I am making decisions based on flawed information because he will often not be playing anywhere near 17/16/2.5 over his last 5k hands.

Pretty sure I was able to track last "x" # hands back in the day with PT2? I don't get it. Def a big problem for me.

Was just told HEM can track last "x" # hands

Please read the FAQ: PT3 HUD which has solutions to common issues and a link to how to report your problem if it doesn't help.

I have read that but cannot find any solution.

It wont allow me to import hand histories giving me error messages such as "Unsupported database type" "Unable to load history file"

It was working at first but then it stopped responding

Please attach one of the files that isn't working for you to a support ticket and we'll investigate further for you.

Just starting to play on Stars again...

9 and 10 tables the HUD is fine... (using Hyper Simple theme)

But 6 max, the first table that opens up the HUD is in the correct place... but the next tables are in the wrong possitions...

I like to sit where I am rite above the bet slider... what seat number is that?

Also, While I was playing... Maybe 16 or 18 tables (stacked) I got a pop up from PTR3 saying I reached max something and closed it really fast before I could read it... What was that? I paid for the softwarez
10-15-2010 , 05:22 PM
Are you certain that PokerStars is set to save hand histories and that PT3 is looking for them in the correct location (on the PokerStars Configuration tab)? If that is not set up properly after 30 hands PT3 will stop importing observed hands and that will cause a popup to appear and could result in seat locations being off depending on your preferred seating options.

Ill double check. But hh and tourney results are saved.
10-16-2010 , 02:13 AM
Just dl'ed PT3, i've been playing for a half hour and the hud only reflects the first hand of the session. still showing stats for players who have left and been replaced.
10-16-2010 , 03:01 AM
Nvm, got it working.

The EV line is not calculating properly on the graph.
For example this hand below ... should be +160 EV and -200 result.
Instead the lines show -200 EV and -200 result.

Is there any fix for this?
