At the moment PS, Party and FT are the supported sites. It shouldn't be too long before they start adding support for more sites.

Ok, this is a question, I have always wondered about, but do you guys have the source code of Pokertracker V2?

Is it difficult to support the newly released PostgreSQL 8.3 in both programs?

Why does the startup of the program take so much longer than PT V2's when it actually should be faster?

I don't get why you would rewrite the program, just add a better GUI, which up to date is nothing more special than PT's V2, (the hand filter could need some overhaul, PokerStove's one is a lot prettier), improve the import algorithm and add 3 bets.

I don't have direct access to the PT2 source, though I could get it if I needed it. I can't say how difficult it would be to support 8.3 in PT2, but the next beta of PT3 supports it.

The long startup time is due to loading all of the reports. This hasn't been optimized and will be reduced significantly once it is.

PT3 has a much more powerful, flexible framework than PT2. What you're seeing in this early beta is nothing compared to what PT3 will have in a few short months.

I'll say it again. Our emphasis to this point has been developing this framework that all the features will build off of. Don't judge a product by its early betas. We still have a long ways to go. Oh, and if you think an updated GUI, faster imports and 3 bets are the only features we've added, you obviously haven't used PT3 very much.

Exporting (backing up) PT2 postgres database and importing it into PT3 will be painless?

My experience with the beta is different. I'm using a database of more than 3 million hands on both PTV2 and the PTV3 beta.
Almost everything is faster in the beta compared to PTV2 and it seems to me that a database of this size is stretching PTV2's capabilities while PTV3 seems to be doing fine. Running manual queries on the two different databases also confirms this.

Considering that the beta still needs optimization i can only conclude that the performance gains are huge.

Yes, once I get the kinks worked out of it. I guess it's not really backing up, PT3 will read the data from the PT2 database and put it into a PT3 database. Much less work than exporting and then importing.

I think he was referring to the startup time (where the splash screen is showing). This does take longer than PT2.

I have a small feature request. Haven't tested PT3 yet, so I don't know if it's already implemented.

I would like to be able to star hands, so I can easily find them later. Basically a bookmarking system. I think this would make it easier to find the hands that I want to review. It would be even better if this starring system could be implemented within the HUD, so I could quickly find the hands I want to review after a session.

Another more difficult feature I would like to see is the ability to tag hands. For example, I could tag a hand as "2p2" to signify that it was a hand I posted on 2p2. Other tags, could be "vsLAG" or "vsManiac" to signify that the hand was played against a LAG or maniac. There's a whole bunch of different things you could do with a tagging feature that I think could be helpful.

You can do something similar to this with the notes system in PT3.

The question has been answered several times. Try to use the search function of this forum. One thing I know is that you have to turn of User Account Control (UAC) for the installation. However, there are also other issues.

I'm not sure what you mean exactly. Can you tell me exactly what you were doing that caused the crashes?

i click on tournment update(i think it's the third tap on top) to enter the result for the tournment i have play in the past.
02-07-2008 , 06:58 PM
Are you referring to the window you use to manually enter tournament results? Is that crashing?

Hi, sorry if this has been asked, I couldn't think how to search for it. In the hand replayer in PT3 is there a way that players stats can be displayed similar to a HUD in gametime? Furthermore, if yes, are these stats customisable?

Cheers, can't wait for the release date!
