Pokertracker 3 keeps getting a fatal exception message and auto import
just wont work. This has happened a number of times now.
I've just done some housekeeping which hasnt finished yet so I'm not sue if this will sort the problem.

Is there something I should be doing? Is this a major problem and do I have to reload from the PS site?

many thanks in advance and apologies if this has been covered many times already.
sirben

No housekeeping didnt wok.

Yes.

From PT3 website:

6. Player Ranges: This relates to the number of players currently at the table. People play differently when there are more or less players involved, and the Player Ranges settings allow your stats to reflect this.

If you have no ranges set, all hands will be used; but if you define one or more ranges then only hands played where there were a certain number of players involved will be used.

For example; if you set a range Min:2 - Max:2 then if you are playing heads-up, only stats from hands where your opponent was playing heads-up will be used. If you set another range Min:3 - Max:6 and your table has between 3 and 6 players currently active then their stats will reflect all their previous hands where between 3 and 6 players were involved, but not their heads-up or full-ring hands. If you have a third range Min:7 - Max:10 and your table has, say, 7 players then their stats will show only data from tables with 7 or more players. If someone leaves the table to leave 6 players, then it will change to show everyone's stats from hands with between 3 and 6 players.

To define a range, click on the Add button. This dialog box will pop up.

In the above example, you would enter 2 in both fields and click OK; then Add another range and enter 3 for Min and 6 for Max; then Add a third range and enter 7 and 10.

Your ranges must be exclusive - i.e. they cannot overlap, so 2-2; 3-7; 6-10 would not work as you would expect. Any number of players not covered explicitly by a range will show stats from all a player's hands.

Click on the Edit or Delete buttons to edit or delete player ranges.

sirbenfro,

Please report this problem so that we can figure out why that error is generated and get it fixed for you.

I've had PokerTracker for quite a while now, and I can't believe I ever used to play online poker without it, the software is immense and would recommend it to anyone, the vast amounts of things that can be done with it are just mind blowing.

My problem is, I can't help but feel I'm not getting the most out of it, I'm desperate to start plugging the leaks in my game so I can further progress as a player. I've seen the report section and had a quick look at it but can't quite get to grips with it it all looks a bit overwhelming to me, I'm not a computer whizz so forgive me!!

Im basically looking for all the 2plus2 geniuses on here to give me a hand on; 1.Good reports to run, 2.Leak finding in terms of taking marginal hands too far. 3.just any general advice/tips you have on using this part of the software aand things to avoid doing. and finally, 4. what should I really be looking for if i want to plug those big leaks.

Any help and advice will be much appreciated. Thankyou.

There's no magic report that will identify leaks. I've found the best use is looking at positional stats. Are you positionally aware? Going to showdown enough/too much? Are you raising enough? Cold-calling too much? How do you do out of the blinds?

I'm assuming you play NL and I'm a limit guy myself, but if your home forum has a stats thread where you post your stats, they'll probably be able to see things better than you and I would suggest posting some screenshots there.

One thing I'll also suggest is customizing your positional stats. I wrote this for limit, but it'll give you the idea.

Edit: Kradda/WhiteRider: I'm not sure if you'll click on my link there, but if you do and read the first little bit, maybe make that button bigger?

Hey,

I want to do sort of a luck report, to check how many times I was ahead on the flop and lost by river. sort of ev luck.
Someone knows where I can find something like this?

Leroy's right with his first part - PT3 is not a magic bullet, you do need to think and put some analysis time in. We'll be having some tools coming down the pike to make this sort of thing easier.

Also: I'll pass along this request for you

That data is not stored in the database, but there are plans to store it in the future and make reports like this easy to create. Unfortunately I don't know when these features will become available.

So i'm using PT3 and i'm going to import tourney results. I've got the the right server, port, etc... but it will only import my 251 oldest e-mails. Of course... these are not the files I need. Any way I can import them without creating a new e-mail, forward all results to that address, and import from there? Or delete/move the approx 1200 e-mails I don't need.

I'm not aware of a limit to the number of emails that can be read, but it's possible.
Please report your problem and we'll investigate.

The easiest solution is probably to set up a separate email address just for poker results - once you've done that (and it doesn't take long, really) it will be much easier to manage in future.

I would like to be able to delete all player information from my PT3 omaha for Mac and was hoping for tips on the best way to go about this.
Thank you.

oceans11kid,

If you have a registered copy of PT3 the easiest thing to do is to create a new database. Database --> Database Management --> New will create a new empty database for you. You can then delete your old database at your leisure.

The Database Management window is not available in the trial, so the easiest thing to do temporarily is just to create a filter (see our Tutorial: Filters for more on filters) to start showing data from beyond a certain date.

Sorry, I didnt expressed right.

I have a database with my hands (HERO) and datamining hands.

I would like to export only HERO hands. Is that possible?

I am currently playing in both the $11 15k gar and the $11 1/4 million.

I frequently play 6 + tables with no HUD problems.

Right now the HUD is working for the 15k gar but not for the 1/4 mil. I have no idea what is going on. I tried stopping and starting HUD and when that didnt work I quit PT3 and restarted it. Both times the same thing. Works on the 15k but not the 250k gar.

Any ideas?

Selective export is available by game type and limit at the moment; more types of selective export are coming, and I know they're something of a priority at this point.

I believe it's due to the 1/4 symbol being used - please submit hand histories from this tournament to a support ticket (and a log file if you have one), and we'll look into getting this fixed.

Hi

I am trying to transfer my Pokertracker data from PC to Mac, but I can't seem to find the database. How do I do it?

Furthermore I'd like to configure my HUD, so that it shows the M, the Cbet%, and the Fold to Cbet%, along the standard stats of VPIP, PFR and AFQ. How do I do that?

Sorry, really newbie. Thanks in advance!

Upgrade to Beta 30.7 if you haven't already, and use the File --> Backup mechanism; the backup files are cross-platform. (Note: If it's your first upgrade from Build 5.2, it will rebuild the cache on startup due to a bug, so expect the first startup to take a couple of hours.)

For your HUD, please see the HUD FAQ which will explain how to add new stats to the HUD.

kind of a stupid nooby question but...

I am currently using the free trial version of PT3. if i purchase the full version of PT3 do i get unlimited free table tracker searches or do I have to pay for them separately?

"because it says register now to get your free trial searches" when you try to use it now, so Im kind of confused by the wording, thank you
03-01-2010 , 07:28 PM
TableTracker is an add-on for PT3 that is not free. You can find the pricing information for TT here. However, when you register PT3 you are given 25 search attempts to use at your leisure to see if TT is a product you would be interested in paying for.
