I finally found out how too Colour code my HUD, but now they are saved and apply'd, the HUD is staying the same Default colour.

Also, the PT button at the top of my Full tilt tables has just randomly stopped appearing, anything i can do about that?

I don't have one at this point, but I would expect existing Holdem sites to be supported by Omaha fairly soon.

Regarding the color, are you adding it via the Color Ranges tab or the Configure Statistics section?

Are your hands importing from Full Tilt properly?

i'm using the beta version for mac and had a question about importing.

i tried to import some old hands, and i get this error:

Unable to begin feeder import process. Reason: Unsupported database type: PokerTracker 3 Database ()

thoughts?

Are you still able to import newer hands?

Hey

I'm fairly serious with my poker and have been playing for a little more than two years now.

I want to start analysing my game more thoroughly so I've put my eyes on Poker Tracker 3. It seems to be the far most comprehensive tool. I have downloaded the trial version, but as the GUI of PT isn't very intuitive (at least to me) I feel quite lost. I have found out how to import my hand histories and...that's it! I've just got an endless line of numbers and columns, that I really don't know what to do with.

I'm looking for some really basic step-by-step help, videotutorials on how to use Poker Tracker 3. I've searched Youtube without any luck (there seems to be some tutorials in Spanish, which I don't speak...).

Hope you can help me!

Kindest regards,
Mr. Moonlight

Our documentation is here, our frequently asked questions are here, and they should go through the lion's share of features that we have in a step-by-step manner, but if there's anything else you're curious about feel free to ask and I'd be glad to help.

That's very strange. Could you attach those hands (or some of them at least) to a support ticket so that we can investigate further?

Any help for a Mac user using a Macbook? When I tile tables the HUD does not resize down to the size I need. The second issue is how do I move HUD elements when we do not have a right click option. I am using a Macbook Air when I travel and this is getting really frustrating.

Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Two finger click or any secondary click should work. The HUD boxes don't resize automatically but you can change the font size or reconfigure the setup to fit your needs better - see the HUD FAQ for more details.

Hi,

i'm using the beta version in a macbook pro and after using the other tracker available for OSX i decided to go for PT. Of course the control over stats is overwhelming campared to the other soft (but Pt is a lot more difficult use), but i'm having a really hard time with the HUD.

- I can't resize it (I think i have to change font sizes)
- i can't move it. I tryied with the secondary click but its not working at all
- when i first enter a table i have to stop the hud and start it again to see it
- Sometimes Hero HUD is showing up, sometimes NOT.
- when i click on the HUD and the popup shows up all the stats are empty

any help?

thanks

- I can't resize it (I think i have to change font sizes)
This is correct - when you resize a table the stat groups will move to keep relative position with the tables, but the font size will not scale.

- i can't move it. I tryied with the secondary click but its not working at all
Secondary clicks should work..
You can move them with two finger click-and-drag or you can enable right-corner clicking in System Preferences->Mouse and use right-corner click and drag.
Two finger drag-and-drop means: You tap onto the trackpad with two fingers, then use the mouse button to drag and drop.
We are adding support for Ctrl-Click and then drag. For some reason it's not a valid secondary click and each program has to add their own support.

- when i first enter a table i have to stop the hud and start it again to see it
The HUD will not appear until the first full hand has been imported (or the 'minimum hands' requirement is reached - Tutorial: Configuring HUD Options).
If it doesn't work like that please report your problem - there are a few teething problems in this first beta release but we'll get them fixed.

- Sometimes Hero HUD is showing up, sometimes NOT.
Again, please report this.

- when i click on the HUD and the popup shows up all the stats are empty
Have you run full housekeeping to make sure the database is optimized and the cache is up to date? That is normally the reason for this sort of thing, and may help with the above too.
Database Management & Maintenance Guide

Hello there
i recently bought and installed the newest beta of PT3 and created my "main database" using PGSQL 8.4, importing and housekeeping was just fine.
then i created a second database for my "other hands", imported a few 100k hands and also everything was fine, including housekeeping.
then i tried to import more hands into my 2nd database and got an error message after housekeeping, it was very long and i could not copy+paste it into a text file. i just redid the housekeeping but again, just a message after hours of processing that something went wrong.
i decided to completely delete the 2nd database and reimport the hand histories in smaller chunks, i manually imported 1,5million hands and everything was fine, but after the housekeeping i again got this long error message that something went wrong at housekeeping, i can see every player in the "general" tab but when i open the summary tab it shows the number of hands imported and how many of them are raked etc( the upper box), but the box at the bottom just keeps loading without something happening, and now i don't know what to do.

i use windows xp, and PT version 3.00 beta 30.1 please help me since i am out of ideas what to do
01-19-2010 , 06:00 AM
Please enable logging, restart PT3 then re-run housekeeping - leave it running overnight or something, then attach the PokerTracker.log file to a support ticket. If you get an error message please attach a screenshot of that too.

Thanks WhiteRider, after running housekeeping it seems that the HUD is working properly. My only problem now is that I can't import EURO table, but I already sent a ticket (#79867). Thank you very much for the help.

I would appreciate advice on how to calculate the Rake Return % for a supernova? I have seen it listed as 37% according to cashing out at the $4000.00 level? More Importantly, off of PokerTracker, do I apply 37% to the "RAKE" or the "MGR"?

Thank you very much!

Being able to export currently filtered hands would be awesome. I think I asked about this before... Anything in the works?

So, any plans to support Rush tables on FTP? (not sure its possible)

The Rush tables ARE supported. At least, the handhistories are being read into PT3.

The Hud doesn't work, but that's because PT needs one hand to see who's at the table, and since you're never longer than 1 hand at the same table....

My anti-virus just notified me that the BodogCommunicator.pt3 file is a "TR/Crypt.TPM.Gen" trojan. Can you shed some light on this and if I should just ignore this message or take some sort of action? Thanks.

seems like it would be nice not having to deal with db and syncing data between machines...
01-21-2010 , 03:47 AM
any reputable pokerroom prohibits the use of a centralized database.
and web based isn't worth much, is it?
i want to have the stats on my tables, not my browser.

The request is on the list for consideration by the development team, but I don't know when it will be added.

PietM is correct - our development team are discussing how best to handle the HUD problem, and also how to store each session as one (you currently have one session for each seat position since that's part of 'normal' session detection).

This is because it has to interact with the Bodog software - this is a false positive (as long as you downloaded it from the PokerTracker website). What AV do you use?
