Clustering can take a while on a large database like that.
Make sure you have plenty of free space on your hard disk - if there isn't at least enough free space for a full copy of the database then clustering will take significantly longer. Defragmenting your drive will also help performance.

What site are you playing at?
There are some known issues with the new Full Tilt software which will be fixed in a new release of PT3 soon.

Are the hands importing?

Re: New Software: PokerTracker 3 - 3.00.5 / Beta 28.4 (60 day trial) - 09-July-2008

Build 5.1 Released

Changed:
  • Hud: Stats can be displayed on observed Full Tilt tables, but hands are not imported
Fixed:
  • Hud: Full Tilt tournaments not being recognized
  • Stats: Custom stat names can now contain the same characters they used to
  • Import: OnGame imports from HandHQ

The memory grabber for Full Tilt is disabled by default. Enable it by accessing the Full Tilt options on the Auto-Import tab. At this time, the feature is still experimental and not fully tested. It needs optimized as well, so it may not work well if you play a large number of tables. Keep that in mind when using it.

Re: New Software: PokerTracker 3 - 3.00.5 / Beta 28.4 (60 day trial) - 09-July-2008

Why do you want to do that?
The cache improves performance in both the reports and when using the HUD.

If you do want to remove it you will need to manually 'drop' the cache tables from your database.
You should not do this unless you understand what you are doing because if you remove the wrong thing you could damage your database beyond repair.

Before doing anything else, make a backup of your database.

To drop the cache tables run Start > Programs > Postgres > PGAdmin III.
Expand the database structure to find the database you're interested in.
(See the backup link above for detail on using PGAdmin)
The cache tables are called "holdem_cache" and "tourney_holdem_cache".
To remove these right click them and choose Delete/Drop. NOTE: THIS CANNOT BE UNDONE so be sure you want to do it, and be careful not to delete anything else.

thanks a bunch
I need to do it because I do not have enough room on my hard-drive so need to move my PT3 and databases over to another hard-drive

OK.
In that case after you drop the tables you should do a vacuum and analyse too (in housekeeping), which should ensure that the disk space is reclaimed properly.
You can disable the Cache option, and Cluster too if you don't want to wait for it. Vacuum and Analyse should run pretty quick.

Getting FT stats to show after latest PT / FT updates?

Ater the latest major updates from FT, is there any way to get previously mined PT stats to show on tables prior to taking a hand? One PT update implied it was possible in their release notes, but I haven't seen it.

Would be nice to see the stats for table selection purposes. So far for me, I need to take about 3-4 hands before the stats pop up.

thanks,
pal

To me, it has more to do with game differences than specific (absolute) positional differences, though. The point I was making is that I don't think people play so differently from, for example, one off the button in a 4-handed and a 5-handed game, but because in one game it's EP and in one game it's not, I would need to set up what I consider to be an artificial and undesired split.

The reason it's undesired is that you split your sample size between them, so rather than having, again for example, 500 hands on someone, you now will have to split that when they probably don't play so differently. Not a huge deal for like VPIP and PFR, but when you have stats that take a long time to converge, cutting your sample size in half is a big deal. Like if I want to see how often they 3-bet and respond to 3-bets on the flop, I'd like the full sample. Especially because postflop they will play the same whether it's 4- or 5-handed.

Hope that makes sense.

Just thought of something else. For Att Steal, it's based on whether you're in CO, BTN, or SB. You wouldn't say that that it doesn't count as a steal if they open from CO 4-handed because in that situation they're UTG. The relevant thing is that they're one off the button and they open-raise. I think it's that same logic that I believe should be extended to positional stats.
I аgree.

Maybe it's possible to make position definitions more flexible?
For those who used to understand them in absolute style, (like defined on pokerstrategy, for example: LP=BU,CO; MP=MP3,MP2,MP1; EP=UTG+2,UTG+1,UTG).
And for those silly ones (with small amount of data for a while) who want to use stats from 6-max table together with stats from 10-max table and don't want actions from 6max-MP2 counted together with actions from 10max-UTG.

Hi all need some help, i have heard that with holdem manager you can manually imput the amount that you get paid in rakeback to your winnings, does anyone know how to do this on the pokertracker 3 version 5 database?
Thanks for your help!!

Enable the 'Auto Import > Full Tilt Configuration > Enable Memory Grabber' option as described in the Build 5.1 release notes.

You can't currently do this but I think there are Custom Stats available in the Repository which calculate rakeback for some sites.
If your site isn't there you will be able to adapt one of these.

I don't remember this being done for MicroGaming (ladbrokes), although I don't know everything in the repository, but you should be able to adapt one of the existing ones if you know exactly how the rakeback is calculated.
If you need any help please post in the PokerTracker 3 Forum or our sponsored 2+2 forum.

Re: New Software: PokerTracker 3 - 3.00.5 / Beta 28.4 (60 day trial) - 09-July-2008

So I just downloaded PT for the first time and I normally 20 table SNGs stacked. Well when I run the HUD it slows my Stars down so bad I can't even keep up w/ tables before it times out. It takes a second longer for the next table needing action to pop forward on my screen. Is there anything I can do to correct this? I run a decently fast system so I dont think its my computer. Should I possibly turn off the Auto Import and keep the HUD on and is that even possible?

Re: New Software: PokerTracker 3 - 3.00.5 / Beta 28.4 (60 day trial) - 09-July-2008

Do you have Build 5.1 of PT3?

You need to have auto import running for the HUD to work.
Did you import a lot of hand histories or are you starting from an empty database?
If you have a lot of existing hands did you run housekeeping on your database after you imported them so that the cache is up to date?
What size and speed is your hard disk? Is there plenty of free space on it? Have you defragmented it recently?

Re: New Software: PokerTracker 3 - 3.00.5 / Beta 28.4 (60 day trial) - 09-July-2008

i have version 5 yes i been doing house keeping every day aswell, a friend showed me i only have 10k hands on here at the moment as i had to reinstall when i had to do a system restore.
Also on the hud the stats come out on wrong players i do move them and save layout, but before they used to sort them selves out.
Annoying when u play 8 tables, especially when they move again after u have saved them.
Im not sure the size my hard disk is but is new fairly new pc so assume plenty of space on it.
Oh yes and im a women so do i get away with saying im blonde? thanks again!!
