Pick whichever you want to be the main screen name for you, go to it in PT3, and on the General tab at the top right is a box that says "Aliases", underneat the word "Aliases" is a blue "edit" link. Click that link and add your other screen name as an alias to that one. Be aware that this will take some time, especially if you have a lot of hands on both accounts, so be patient and once it finishes your stats will be combined for the future.

From the information provided from this tool, hero has discovered that, on the first hand, new players 3-bet a PFR 1.5 times more often. Knowing this, hero can make a better default play by tightening up his standard range.

In the heads-up world where hit-n-runs are extremely common, knowing the best default plays can be a huge advantage over the competition.
And one of the things on my to-do list is to figure out exactly what can be done with those date functions. When I figure out the tricks that I can accomplish, I'll post them for everybody to see and benefit from.

And I maintain that PT3 is very powerful. See the How To: Advanced HUD for how I use its power personally.

Make sure that PT3 and PokerStars are both set to run as administrator (right click the desktop icon, check "run as administrator"). If that doesn't do it for you, please check the PokerStars Configuration Guide once PokerTracker.com becomes available once again.

Once you've imported a hand you've played in, click the Settings button along the top and then click Search. Let the box populate and then choose your screen name from the list and click 'ok' and then you'll have your screen name set within PT3.

At this point I wouldn't expect to see the first public betas until sometime this summer. However, you should be aware this is a rough estimate, and could vary depending on how things go -- we are currently looking to add developers to our team and the sooner we have them the faster things will go, which is why it's hard to be more precise in these sorts of estimates.

Also: PokerTracker.com is currently down as our hosting site appears to be having global issues. We hope that the site will be back up soon and apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause in the meantime.

To be fair, for this stat to even be remotely useful, you'd have to have played hundreds, if not thousands of different sessions with the player. Even if you do, the data you get may have nothing to do with it being the player's first hand. By the time you've played enough sessions with the player to get useful information, you'll already have a pretty good read on the guy.

I'm pretty sure a report based on this would be possible, because you'd have to filter down to the first hand of each session. It would very like be extremely slow though.

I know PT2 comes free with a purchase of PT3...but it would be might kind of y'all if the old PT Omaha and PT Stud also came free with a PT3 purchase...*wink wink*...pretty please with sugar on top. It might increase some sales of PT3 Omaha whenever it comes out!! Just a thought and request lol.

If the answer is no, which I'm sure it is...does the trial of the old PT Omaha only allow for X amount of hands to be imported before a full purchase is required, or X amount of days?

I believe the PTO trial is limited to importing 1000 hands. (And to your request, we won't be giving out PTO or PTS, sorry.)

I meant first hand of against all players, not against a specific one. Obviously as games evolve, this statistic would change.

It's randomly not importing hands for some reason. I run PT3 and stars, latest beta, whatever everything's fine, click refresh a few hands aren't there. It seems like it lags behind.

Def not the computer, Raptor, quad core, 4 gb ram, Vista 64(maybe vista?)

i don't think this started happening until the latest beta. running with SQL

here's one raw hh i know it didn't import.

Hi

Can you guys tell me if you are currently working on the All-in EV calculator that was discussed some months back.

I bought PT3 about 6 months ago and have eagerly being awaiting the introduction of this feature.

Check the Software Forum for HoldEm Luck. Its a freeware all-in luck calculator for PT3 DBs.

You should check out the PT3 forums more often. There are 2 all-in ev calculators available as far as I know. The before mentioned "HoldemLuck" and "AllinCalc".

Strictly,

Please enable logging (Configure --> Options --> Logging Enabled) and restart PT3 and then play while importing for two orbits and submit the C:\Program Files\PokerTracker 3\PokerTracker.log and C:\Program Files\PokerTracker 3\PokerTrackerHud.log files to a support request and we'll look into what's going on here for you.

As to the EV information, yes both of those programs are out there, and they do both work well (I've tried them both), there's also TourneyLuck which gives you chip EV for tournaments (there's no ICM calculations built into it as of yet).

PT3 will still eventually get these features. Our current priority is fixing bugs. Once we've fixed some outstanding bugs and released the next Beta we'll get back to adding more features and I believe EV functionality is high on the list.

I know that issue has been reported and is on our list. Beta 24 is going to consist mostly of bug fixes, though I'm not sure exactly which bugs are going to get fixed, but I'd say it's likely that this will be looked at as something to potentially fix for the Beta 24 release.

By default, yes, but you could change it if you wanted at installation time if you installed the full PostgreSQL package from their site (PT3 streamlines it in order to make it easier on everybody).

Unless you specifically tell PostgreSQL to open a port to the greater internet (via the pg_hba.conf), there is no security risk here, if that is what you are worried about.

There are a few reasons for this sort of problem. The answer boils down to: we sure do hope so.

One thing you can try that's worked for a lot of people is to click Start --> Programs --> PostgreSQL --> Stop Services first before starting up PT3; PT3 should be automatically starting up PostgreSQL and PT3 should start properly when it does so. This doesn't work for everyone but it works for a majority of people that have this problem.

That error can happen for a variety of reasons. In order to be sure, please zip up and attach those two hands to a support ticket and we'll make sure whatever specific error you're having gets fixed.

Just out of general curiosity:

Is it gonna be normal from now on that your supposedly up-to-date development timeline is updated ~once a month, and routinely announces a beta that's already avaliable w/out info on what's next and when that next is gonna happen?

fwiw, your cr-skills are still piss-poor.

re: New Software: PokerTracker 3 - 3.00.4 / Beta 24 (60 day trial) - 29-Jan-2008

I've requested that the development timeline be updated, hopefully that will happen in the next couple of days.

At the moment we are working on a bug fix release in anticipation of a Build 4 release.

I know that in the next version there will be improvements to the cluster mechanism to improve speed and reduce the amount of free space needed to perform the cluster (from 3x your database size in free space to 2x your database size in free space), and there are significant improvements in HUD performance due to query optimization on our end. There are also a host of small fixes that should be coming out, and I don't have an exhaustive list of those. For example, the val_p_raise_aggressor_pos flag isn't set right if the person raising preflop is from the blinds. I'm pretty sure that one will be fixed.

Hopefully we'll have fixed a bunch of issues like these and the next Beta comes out and once we've finished fixing known issues and made sure that version is stable, we'll move on to a Build 4 release then go back to adding new features and site support.
