Re: New Software: PokerTracker 3 - 3.00.2 / Beta 16 (60 day trial) - 27-Aug-2008

why does hud never stay visible on MY current session stats?

it goes in and out frequently, while other players stats stay visible the entire time

Build 2 is previous to beta 16 and contains many bugs and problems. Please upgrade to beta 16. Close pt3, then go to the download page here (PT3 downloads) and get beta 16 without postgresql. Once downloaded, run the installer and it will upgrade pt3 for you. There is no need to uninstall anything when doing this.

Re: New Software: PokerTracker 3 - 3.00.2 / Beta 16 (60 day trial) - 27-Aug-2008

I really hate wasting my time being a tester for a program ive already paid for. I've never used anything other than poker tracker when i started online poker two years ago.

I am now not able to have functional sessions AT ALL. Its really frustrating that I depended on pokertracker to release a products they know works, and works well. I have been lied to too many times to do anything other than wait to see if things will ever be made right with all who have bought

As a pro hold em player, Im very affected by this, Currently others using Hold em manager at the tables can actually see value information on the other players, while I simply cannot.

GG imo

Re: New Software: PokerTracker 3 - 3.00.2 / Beta 16 (60 day trial) - 27-Aug-2008

i just noticed that on for mine pt3 does not lag when i tile the tables but when i stack them it does considerably, even for a couple tables tables. When i stack them the only time there is lag is when another action is needed on another table. So make what you will of that.

A question on the hud is there any way to make the black background of it clear?

beta 16 hud has more bugs than the full release, come on please just fix it...its been out for over 3 months

prematurely releasing a product will lead to the ultimate demise of your brand image unless things become much better and fast. people lol at pokertracker in the strat/other forums because HM is simply far more functional

i want to keep PT3, but going through beta test after beta test AFTER purchasing the full product doesn't seem right, at all

It is obviously not a sensible long term solution to be asking people to not use AHK scripts when playing, I think for most people who do use scripts they'd rather not use PT3 if forced to make a choice.

And yeah, name the scripts (or bump their topics) and we'll much more easily figure out what is PT3 hud's problem with them.

Ok, I've bought HEM as well and all, but seriously, guys, stop being idiots. They're trying to corner a potential problem with two pieces of 'ware, nothing more, nothing less. That is done by disabling a potential source of an error and seeing whether the error persists. If it does - not good, but at least they know it's not the AKH scrip thats causing it. If it doesn't, they at least know where to look for the bug. Stop being dicks and either help out or shut up.

You kind of contradicted yourself there.. (unless I've misread)

The problem with your own stats disappearing was fixed since Build 2, so you should update to Beta 16.

Re: New Software: PokerTracker 3 - 3.00.2 / Beta 16 (60 day trial) - 27-Aug-2008

I'm having lots of troubles with PT3 lately.

It started with the stats showing on the wrong villians, i use preferred seating at PS and have this enabled at seat 5 in PT3 it still doesn't work.

This weekend it started crashing on me a lot to the point where a housecleaning was adviced.
After i did the housecleaning it didn't even import hands anymore !!
It took the files from my PS HH folder but they are not in the PT3 processed folder, they have dissapeared completely...

I tried the build version but is has expired.

Plz advice what can i do to get it working properply?

Sorry, I should've phrased my post better. Obviously I want to know which scripts are causing the problem, but I'd rather those of you who are having problems try without AHK scripts before reporting your problem so we can cross one possible cause off the list.

Obviously that's the plan, but it saves everyone time if they try this first. I'm sure there are people who are saying "PT3 sucks, it doesn't work", when in fact it would work great if they disabled an AHK script that might not be playing nicely with other applications. Once I find out which scripts aren't working properly with PT3, I can investigate why and maybe work around it, or the author of the script can fix/change something in it to work with PT3.

Beta 16 does *not* have more bugs than the initial release. Dozens of bugs have been fixed since then. It may have introduced bugs that affect you, but that's a different matter. Beta 16 in fact solves most of the Hud problems that were out there. There's a few more left, but we're working on it.

People "loled" at me when I mentioned writing a replacement for PlayerView back in the day. Nearly every single one of them used PA Hud eventually (even though they purchased PlayerView and there were *free* alternatives). I'm confident that those who are laughing at PT3 right now will eventually purchase it or come back to it. We had a rough start, but things will turn around now.

Have you submitted log files for this? It sounds like something might actually be going on with your computer. Are you running Vista?

i've not submitted log files for this, what's the best way of doing this?

Everything used to work just fine, it stopped importing files right after the housecleaning.

and the preffered seat problems i'm having since a week or two.

I am using vista.

First, make sure you have PT3 *and* all the poker sites you play on running as admin (set in the properties of the icon you use to launch the programs, it's different than being logged in under an admin account).

If that doesn't solve your problems, make sure logging is enabled (Config -> Options -> Logging) and then reproduce the problem. Once reproduced, attach the PokerTracker.log file to a support ticket on our site. Be sure to include as much detail about your problem as possible in your ticket.

May have awnsered this a million times. (thread too long) but im having a problem with the HUD, it doesn't update. Even when i press refresh, nothing happens. It does update when i search a player, but am I sopose to do that 50 times a hand?

How do I get the previous version, as there were few problems then.

Thanks in advance.

Do you mean the 'Refresh' button in the main App.? This doesn't have anything to do with the HUD.
Or by HUD do you mean the main reports?

If you mean the HUD that is on the tables, then make sure that you have sensible values in the Refresh Rates on the HUD Options tab - these are probably set up to update less frequently the more hands you have on a player, rather than every hand.

Are you using Beta 16?
Have you done the housekeeping?

Im talking about the HUD on the tables. I went to options and i saw 3 or 4 values for min max refresh every. I deleted all but [min 0] [max 25] [refresh every 1]
What does the min and max mean. I hope I didn't mess anything up by deleting the other values. I would give it a test drive but I have to go to work.

Thank you for your help.

I accidentally imported a lot of partypoker sng hand histories to my db.

I only use PT3 for my cash games on Full Tilt.

Is there any way for me to remove the Party data from my database?

Thx in advance

Right, that explains it.
What that means is once you have more than 25 hands on a player they won't refresh again.
You need to have at least one more entry, such as
25 / 9999999 / 5
(so that with between 25 and 9999999 hands the player will refresh every 5 hands).

But better would be a few ranges - the more hands you have the less often you need the player's stats to update.

See the HUD Guides in the Documentation and the How To: HUD Configuration

Not yet, but Selective Purge will be added soon.
See the Development Timeline.

Cash and tournament stats are separate anyway, so they won't interfere for now.

I just checked and PS as well as PT3 were not running as admin

After changing it to run as admin it started importing hands again
the positional problem seemed still there but after resetting the hud (from the table icon) it was fixed at my other tables it selfcorrected as well after a few hands.

I think the settings were resetted after the update from beta16 but over here it's working perfect again.

I wanna thank you for helping me out this fast, keep up the good work !!

WOW! , Talk about HAVING to overstate the OBVIOUS. Some people REALLY should use their brain a little.

I have been using PT3 with and without Stars Planner and have found little difference. I am still having small issues periodically, but nothing serious.

I have been pretty pissed with how long it has taken to get PT3 to the point that it was adding value to my play.

I almost lost my mind when the database housekeeping didn't finish in an hour.

I stuck it out, lost a night of play, I am now up and running.

The latest beta is much smoother. The HUD just feels like it takes 10% of the resources it used to. It wasn't always smooth, but I am finally to the point, that I am happy to be using PT3, keep it up.
