One thing we just encountered that might help those of you having problems. If you run AHK scripts, try running without them to see if your problems go away.

I am also having the problem with stats not showing up when I fire up 6 tables on stars. After about 10 or so hands one table started showing them but the pop ups came up blank when you clicked on them.

umm, wat?

Which script do you think is causing specific problems?

Did you update the cache for every database you have the Hud configured to use?

I'm not sure yet. I haven't heard back from the user, but he told me running without scripts resolved his problem.

Also, we just got this report too:

I Installed latest beta. Couldn't even open 3 tables at full tilt, so laggish.

Then i realised that I didn't run pt3 as administrator.

Now it work's fine for me!

Yes, I only have one database and I updated the cache for it last night.

Try the performance tuning recommended here: http://www.pokertracker.com/forums/v...p?f=45&t=10393

If that doesn't help, please enable logging (config -> options -> logging), reproduce the problem, then attach the PokerTracker.log and PokerTrackerHud.log files to a support ticket on our site.

Hi guys, how do you import observed hands into a database? I have the 2 boxes under observed hands checked but it still doesnt work. Is it something from pokerstars end? because I dont think my comp saves observed hands. How do I work that out?
08-28-2008 , 01:18 PM
Stars I thought didnt let you datamine their site. Maybe I am wrong.
08-28-2008 , 01:22 PM
30 hands per session, to allow you to get hud stats and table select.

A little hint: a small number of users complaining about problems doesn't mean that only a small number of users have these problems. Most just sigh behind their monitors where you can't see and either continue using it or switch to another tracker.

oh, then nvm.

Okay, now my translucency has failed to work. HUD remains solid colors.

Statistically untrue. The proportion of people complaining vs. not complaining is going to correlate tightly with people having problems vs. not. When is a person going to run to the PT3 thread and post? After a nice session, or after a buggy session?

The point is that negative stimulus is exponentially more likely to incite an active response (i.e. complaining on the interwebs) than a positive stimulus. A marketing major with more knowledge on the subject could help out here.

I'm upset at what beta 16 did to my session last night. I don't hate PT3 or their creators, though. I'm not going to switch to another tracker because of it, because I really really like PT3 when it's working, which is most of the time.

I disagree with this?

Also its far more likely 99% of people aren't having problems at all besides some minor bugs and just use the software without caring.

i'm so disappointed that you guys removed memory scanner feature on stars in this beta 16?? i couldnt see any stats populated from my database any more before i sit down and play one hand?? whats all the fuss about?
08-28-2008 , 02:11 PM
hi, can anyone tell me if i should turn the 'enhance HUD performance' on? what is the purpose of this feature.
thanks
08-28-2008 , 02:38 PM
It makes the translucency go away and it updates the stats less frequently, so it uses less resources.

It wasn't our call. In order to even allow any observed hands imported, we had to follow PokerStars' rules. They say we are only allowed to import 30 observed hands. After that 30 minutes have to pass and PT3 has to be restarted before more observed hands can import. If we don't comply, we risk being placed on PokerStars' prohibited software list and that would risk the bankroll of our users and we're not willing to do that.

If you dislike this rule, you should email PokerStars. They initially denied our request to add them to TableTracker, but after receiving complaints from our users, they changed their minds. They may be willing to change this too if they hear from enough users.

Tried it again just now, all tables loaded with stats just fine, self-stats showing as normal once again. It's running way slower than previously, however. I have done the housecleaning stuff already.

Good thing is, the worse PT3 runs, the better I seem to run at the tables. Yay.
08-28-2008 , 03:53 PM
i tried firing up new beta 16 after housecleaning my dbs
fired up 6 FT tables, no stats appeared on any of them, but the little hud icon did appear...
So I went into hud options, clicked on the "increase hud performance (need restart)" thing.
then PT3 froze up, timed me out of all tables, i had to kill the process.

Then restarted PT3, and the stats appeared on all tables within 1 hand, and haven't had a problem since.

also, i'll have to double check i'm running as admin cause i'm not sure if I have to recheck it after i installed new beta...

but even if I'm not, it's running good (but i didn't any problems with beta 15 fwiw)

Nothing happens on my monitor, it just sits there like I didnt click on the shortcut at all.

Did you guys ever fix the bug of FTP deep HU tables not being identified as HU but instead as FR?

Fortunately, I didn't have any problems installing PT3 or 8.3 Postgres. Hopefully I won't have any moving my hands.

for whatever reason it takes 45 seconds for the program to open after I've double clicked the icon. Why is that I don't know, but it's annoying.
