Is the implementation of variance / SD information high in your priorities list?

are there downloadable hud skins? configureing the popup stats to be sexy (as opposed to the defulat clutter bomb) is a pain in arse
08-13-2008 , 12:54 PM
Not yet, but there will be.

We also plan on making the HUD design section more user friendly (b/c you're right, making a good popup stat is not quick or easy at the moment).

and another delay

nh guys

lol, as I said in PT3, development timeline should consider players priorities, and it isn't a priority. We wanna some new feature, like all in equity

What's the word you starred out? (If you're worried about putting it in an open forum, PM me and I'll go from there.)

He didn't star it out the forum censor did - the software is having trouble reading the 0 numbered block of the relation - it couldn't read the block. Sorry about the circumlocutious language but 're********' is censored just like 're*******'

Kraada didn't say it was a high priority, he just said it would be done.
Please see the Development Timeline for the latest udpates.

Have a look at the Database / Postgres FAQ, where there is a fix for this issue - at least it looks like the same thing..

Another PSA:

I just recently added a FAQ: Performance Tuning: Hard Drives.

I figured some people around here might appreciate the heads up

If you are a power user you may have already performed these steps, but if not they're worth considering; following the Linux steps (since I run Linux, and all), I went from 24h/sec to 34h/sec manually importing full ring hands. So the improvement can be significant.

its been over 2 months since commercial release and I still cannot use the hud when grinding like 18 tables. And you won't offer a refund.

While I certainly think PT3 users have a right to complain about PT3 being released both too early and taking too long to fix, the 'refund' stuff is just stupid.

You had/have 60+60 days free trial to find out how and if it works - if you're just blindly buying it without checking it out first, you really have no reason to be whining about refunds.

There are two main reasons for this error. The first is a result of data corruption from a computer crash that requires reindexing your database. You can reindex your database from the PostgreSQL command prompt. Click Start --> Programs --> PostgreSQL --> Command prompt. At the prompt that appears, type “reindexdb -a” and hit enter. Be aware that if you have large databases this may take a while, so be patient and wait for it to finish.

The second reason for this error is a result of faulty hardware. You can set PostgreSQL to ignore these errors by clicking Start --> Programs --> PostgreSQL --> Configuration Files --> Edit postgresql.conf. In the configuration file that appears, go to the bottom of the file and add the text “zero_damaged_pages = on” on a new line and then save and close the file. Click Start --> Programs --> PostgreSQL --> Reload Configuration and PostgreSQL will ignore the damaged data. If you continue to have problems with that hard drive, you should consider replacing it.

I soured on RedHat personally back in the days of rpm hell.

I'm using Debian now, but if I had to reinstall, I'd probably give Ubuntu a try.

YMMV, this is from my personal experience, but I like my OS to be stable
08-15-2008 , 06:56 PM
I use Win98me. Its the best.

Question re: Performance tuning.
(For Kraada)
When we go to Run, then type in cmd, then ..." Code: Select all
fsutil behavior set disablelastaccess 1", do we type in the "Code:Select All" bit, or just the words from fsutil on?

Thanks.
08-16-2008 , 04:53 AM
No, the "Code: Select All" is part of the forum formatting - if you click "select all" it will select all the code...
08-16-2008 , 09:41 AM
I've been holding off upgrading to PT3 for a while now waiting on any bugs etc being ironed out. Should I wait a bit longer or is it stable enough at the moment?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated guys
