Re: New Software: PokerTracker 3 - 3.00.2 (Beta 15 available) - 21-July-2008

If you go back and look at posts in this thread before the commercial release, it was a constant badgering of questions about the date of commercial release. It is seems like many posters here forced the premature commercial release of this product not the developers. But the developers have to accepted responsibility for taking money for an incomplete product. Looking back on all of this I kind of feel like everything before the commercial release was alpha testing and the true beta testing didn't get underway until after the commercial release. Anyone that paid for this incomplete product has serious reasons to be ticked off. Refunds are extremely unlikely, but as a show of good faith maybe something like complementary copies of PT2 Omaha are in order. And as I stated in another thread I think Omaha is going to be the next big boom in poker and getting people into wanting a Omaha tracker/hud will just end up adding to overall PT revenue in the long run when PT3 O is released. And for anyone who is lurking in this thread but not testing PT3, it is F-R-E-E, download it and try it out and help with the ultimate success of the product. And for anyone that didn't buy PT3 but is testing it out (myself included, I don't buy first versions or first major upgrades of software) just keep testing the heck of of this product on every different computer you have and every poker site you play. And when you find flaws send in logs and try and give hyper accurate descriptions in this thread of the problems you are experiencing.

Attention Attention Attention !!!
PT3 still needs plenty of beta testing. I hope we can keep the griping to a minimum and get back to focusing on bulletproofing this product.

Which part? There are two sentences. The "when is the commercial release?" comments were a constant part of this thread. And a small minority, myself included were saying don't rush it. And the developers were fine with pushing back the commercial release several times. But don't get me wrong I said "s-e-e-m-s" like posters played a part in rushing the release. I am absolutely, positively on the side of anyone who paid for this incomplete product and ticked off or worse. Amen to ChrisV for saying "I am not your ****ing beta tester" he spent his money on a product he thought was ready for prime time. He has the right to be mad.

WAT

AFAIK the commercial release was basically forced due to other business arrangements.

Re: New Software: PokerTracker 3 - 3.00.2 (Beta 15 available) - 21-July-2008

To clarify, I don't have a problem with the product I spent my money on. My problem is being forcibly "upgraded" to a product I DIDNT spend my money on, presumably for testing reasons, and which didn't work properly. By way of update, after doing a cluster/vacuum/analyse and turning HUD performance improvement on, the central problem (retrieving Hero's stats when not requested) is unresolved, but performance is improved to the point where it appears not to matter. But that's irrelevant. It could be the best program in the universe and the simple fact is I didn't ask to upgrade. I was forced to.

Secondary update: It appears it's retrieving Hero's stats for all tables, and the only reason it was doing so only intermittently before is that performance was so bad that it was experiencing timeouts. Awesome.

The Beta 15 version i just downloaded seems to run the HUD quite a lot smoother, and no crashes in my first short session with it (14 tabling full ring). Is it an improvement for others as well? Anyways, hopefully it continues to act well, thanks for improving the HUD PT3!

Re: New Software: PokerTracker 3 - 3.00.2 (Beta 15 available) - 21-July-2008

Just tried out iPoker datamining (from NoIQ), but that doesn't really work... Anything I could be trying to change?

fwiw, I got "Store HHs locally" enabled in the client.

also, it already imported some hands, but those were probably the ones I played still stored or smth, dunno... so it seems importing observed hands doesn't work?

Just looked up that thread... You haven't quite got the same problem, because I'm talking about iPoker and you talk about stars.

Stars does not allow datamining, so it doesn't work, simple as that. You are allowed to import the first 30 hands or so from a table in order to table select properly, but you cannot store/save more than that. (obviously storing data from tables while you're playing is allowed...)

no no...it's the same problem but the sites are differents. If you read the PT3 forum you should know , and in fact you know it,that stars allow all trackers to import 30 hands per session.

Have you enabled "Options" --> "Instant Hand History Options" --> "Save My Hands History"? Per default, this is not enabled in the stars client...

What are you using to save your observed hands from iPoker? I don't think iPoker saves observed hands to your hard drive unless you have a third party tool helping you with that, such as spadeit.

hmmmm read smth about that, but I hoped that PT3 included such a tool already... So it doesn't? Also read that spadeit costs 45$???

Hell yeah, great that PT3 offers "iPoker supported" and you have to pay for ANOTHER program to make it work... wtf, seriously!

Of course. PT3 import the players in the database, but not the hands

The fact that iPoker doesn't save observed hand histories isn't PT3's fault. The program works just fine with iPoker.

ah well, ok... still, I think a note of some sort at some point would be a good thing...

just that you pay for a program which still has leaks, then gotta pay for some other program, because it doesn't say that this would not work on that site etc... (at least I didn't find that anywhere in the faq, it just says supported sites)

meh, sry for the accusations in that case, but still a bit annoyed

Ability to datamine is not a standard feature nor a feature to be "expected" by a 3rd generation tracker. You don't have to pay for another program, most people doesn't datamine, so it's entirely up to you. Basically, the site is fully supported, but the site doesn't "support" datamining since they don't save observed hand histories.

Chris,

Do you have your name set in PT3?

Go to the Texas Holdem tab, click "Settings" along the top, then "Search". Let the list populate, and choose your screen name and click 'ok', and that might resolve your Hero stats issue. (I'm not sure if you need to be selected that way to be Hero or not, but it can't really hurt . . .)

NCBoiler,

What's wrong with the fold to 3-bet statistic? To my knowledge, it works correctly: % of times you fold to 3-bets / % of times you faced 3-bets. Is it not working properly for you?

new issue for me: Recently get tons of these What's up with those? Never received them like two days ago and before... I didn't change anything as far as I can tell, just tried to install spadeit + get it to work with PT3 (didn't really)... Still goes on with those violations even after I closed eyepoker?!

edit: Seems like it's not properly importing those HHs anyway, I get no stats for todays session... wtf?! didn't really change anything

Lemming,

What version of PT3 are you using? If you haven't already, please upgrade to Beta 15 as that version should fix many access violation errors like the one you are experiencing.

Is there an easy way to configure the HUD or is it just going to be insanely annoying forever?

Re: New Software: PokerTracker 3 - 3.00.2 (Beta 15 available) - 21-July-2008

We're going to improve the HUD configuration page at some point; it is not our highest priority at the moment though. We do understand that, at the moment, creating popup menus is something of a nightmare; this will be fixed when the configuration page gets the facelift.

For our short term goals and priorities, see our development timeline.
