Eurolinx support coming someday?
and do we need 3rd party software for handgrabbing ongame and pacific in order to get huds working there? (e.g. idleminer?)

Hud works good now. popups are shown and use of multiple databases works too (playing stars and party 6max)

I AM SO PISSED RIGHT NOW

this program puts me on ubertilt. I had trust in the developers of this program, but instead it has cost me around 200 $ just in pots i timed out because of stupid pokertracker freezes..I have sent in like 10 log files, this is alpha testing I should be paid for.

So this is in Beta 15? If it is, please attach some of the hand history files to a Support Ticket. The features you're asking for were meant to be added earlier (as stated several times in posts by Josh). We weren't expecting the amount of HUD issues that we've had and therefore things like this have had to wait a little. These features are getting closer though, and you can see our Development Timeline for more information.

Eurolinx (Microgaming) support will be added. I haven't been playing on microgaming for a while, but when I was there was no need for 3rd party handgrabbing software. Or did I get you wrong?

Re: New Software: PokerTracker 3 - 3.00.2 (Beta 15 available) - 21-July-2008

I just downloaded and installed Beta 15. There's a small typo in the window that pops up when you open PT3:
"Your databases need updated. PokerTracker will go through each of your databases and update them..."

EDIT: Wow the update process literally took two seconds, and my database contains about 3 million hands IIRC. Is it supposed to be that fast?

After installing, the above update process took less than 5 seconds for me, with some Message Boxes just popping up. Considering I have 4 databases with totally more than 20 million hands, can that be right? It certainly doesnt feel like it.

Is there any way I can do the update again? Or verify that is has been correctly done?
(My PostgreSQL server is on port 5433, could it be that the update process is hardcoded to run against 5432?)

You need to cluster the database (imo this do a real update to database).

Then Vacuum database. Then Analyze database.

Clustering (or vacuuming or analyzing) the database makes no updates to the contents of the DB, it just reorganizes it for better performance.

The update process is because there have been changes in the DB schema, and the message at startup warns that this could take several hours for a large DB. It took 5 seconds for 20 million hands, which is suspiciously fast.

Which features are disabled if one chooses to optimize HUD performance? Would be nice to know.

We are giving out free copies of PT2 Holdem and PA Hud to make up for the fact that PT3 does not contain 100% of the features PT2 does. That is our main priority now. To get PT3 on par with PT2 in terms of features.

Carefully review the hands that PT3 errors but PT2 imports. I'll bet they'll look a little bit odd in the replayer.

Your incentive to submit hands is that 1) I can fix it if they are being caused by a bug in PT3, and 2) I can verify that the hands are in fact, corrupt and un-importable.

The update is small, but not that small. I believe something is causing it not to actually happen, but it doesn't seem to be erroring out either.

Translucency is disabled, and the update frequency (that checks for updated stats and resizes/moves the stat group windows when needed) is slower. There may be more done in the future if it proves necessary.

Isn't this against the TOS?

Quote:
5.4. EXTERNAL PLAYER ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS (EPA). PokerStars prohibits those External Player Assistance Programs ("EPA Programs") which are designed to provide an "Unfair Advantage" to players. PokerStars defines "External" to mean computer software (other than the Software), and non-software-based databases or profiles (e.g. web sites and subscription services). PokerStars defines an "Unfair Advantage" as any instance in which a User accesses or compiles information on other players beyond that which the User has personally observed through the User's own game play. We encourage you to read our Prohibited Online Software FAQ.
Just sort of worried importing observed hands can get me in trouble or something...

From http://www.pokertracker.com/forums/v...hp?f=15&t=9357. 30 hands isn't considered datamining, it's only making table selection easier.

I can't give you a full official answer to all of this, but Josh/Derek have stated that they have agreed this with PokerStars and that what PT3 does will NOT break the T&C.

crap, i just accidentally clicked to cluster my database again right after it just finished doing one in 10hours!! I meant to do a vacuum. Is there a way to safely cancel this? I dont wanna wait another 10 hours.

Please put a confirmation dialog before this stuff starts so it wont happen again in the future.

I can't give a definitive answer to this, but I'm pretty sure you can terminate it without breaking anything. Hopefully one of the postgres experts will confirm this for you pretty soon.

Also it took about 3 minutes for the stats to load. What do I need to do?
I just wanted to add a little to Peligroso's answer..
Since you have 2 columns of stats next to each other (the CBF and AF columns), you could do these as a single Group and set it to type Grid, which will align stats in columns.
Now, I'm not saying this would be the best way to set it up in this case as it would make the Group more complicated, but I just wanted to point out the possibility.

If you are going to CLUSTER then the VACUUM is pretty much redundant. The ANALYZE is still useful but should be done after CLUSTER since its physical-order-correlation stats will be quite wrong if done beforehand. In other words there is only one sane way to do this and it is:

CLUSTER;
ANALYZE

You could possibly make a case for

CLUSTER;
VACUUM;
ANALYZE

The VACUUM won't do anything useful in terms of reclaiming space (there
being none to reclaim just after a CLUSTER) but it would ensure that all
rows in the table are marked as committed-good, rather than leaving that
work to be done by the first transaction that happens to hit each row.

The new cluster does not use PostgreSQL's CLUSTER command, which does a VACUUM. With the new cluster, you will need to vacuum your database afterwards, and an analyze is a good idea too.

Ok, thanks.

The database change which had to take hours was done in seconds so thats not good.

But this beta is a lot faster for me nevertheless.
