Re: New Software: PokerTracker 3 - 3.00.2 (Beta 14 available) - 01-July-2008

Apologies in advance if this has been asked -

Is there currently (or will you add in the future) any way to exclude a player without a minimum number of hands in my database from being included in the table stats in Table Tracker? Right now, I get all razzed up about a table with 5 players with stats and 60% VPIP. Then I look closer at the stats and see that one guy has played 8 out of the 9 hands that I have on him. Eh, that kinda skews the stats a bit...

Are you guys planning on implementing a more user-friendly HUD layout manager in the future (after you fix and add like everything else)?

Start with this post.

Beyond the basics, personally I look at my own trend and specific hands and what I did and try and think about (after the fact, not in the "heat of battle" so to speak) whether or not, given all of the information available, my play was the maximal +ev play.

If you stop using auto-center this will no longer occur.

Here is what's happening: you have auto-center set up so when you sit, you're in the center seat. When you sit at a table and sit out, PokerTracker 3 doesn't recognize that you're sitting there (as you're not dealt in) and therefore displays the stats as if auto-center were off. As soon as you sit in, PT3 fixes the stats based on auto-center.

It seems like this should be fixable, and I'll make a note to do so, but I'm pretty sure that is what's going on. You could try playing without auto-center and see if that works for you, and that would fix this issue.

This feature is not yet available, but it will be. There has also been talk of including some form of weighted averaging in the TableTracker output, though I'm not certain as to exactly how that will work out in the end (as there are pros and cons either way).

Yes, absolutely, including a much more user-friendly way of creating popup windows. We don't like hitting the up arrow several hundred times, either

Re: New Software: PokerTracker 3 - 3.00.2 (Beta 14 available) - 01-July-2008

Does the software have the possibility of filtering the HUD stats by stack sizes? (like say by ranges of how many bbs they have) I was just thinking that would make tournament hud stats about a million times better and relevant but I dont know if that is possible.

I'm not sure what you mean by "filtering the HUD". If you mean display these stats for stacks of this size and these stats for stacks of that size, no that feature is not currently available (though I agree it would be nice).

You can create a custom statistic though based on their stack size at the start of the previous hand (though you need to have stats updating every hand for this to work right, otherwise the data will be old). The stats you need are in the tourney holdem hand statistics table: amt_p_effective_stack is their effective stack preflop from the prior hand. (Then if you want their effective stack at the end of the hand, just make the appropriate adjustments.)

You are right tahts exactly whats going on. But the fact is PAHUD doesn't have this problem so it is definately fixable.

I just loaded a FTP table and hit sit out. The first hand history list all players (including me) and after the lsit of names says "player is sitting out". Every hand after this says "is sitting out" next to the stack size.

This should really be an easy fix.

I've made a note so that this issue won't get lost and we will get it fixed.

How do i get a PT3 discount coupon?

I am thinking to buy the new PT3 but it is more expensive and it is not that well developed.

It is not working in all the poker rooms with the HUD.

Re: New Software: PokerTracker 3 - 3.00.2 (Beta 14 available) - 01-July-2008

1. Be registered on the PokerTracker website and logged into your account.
2. Link previous PokerTracker and PokerAce Hud purchases to your account if your registered email address on the website is different from the email address used to purchase PT2 or PAH.

Once you have done these two things your discount coupon will automatically appear when you add PT3 to your cart.

Update question: the answer about Ongame was given a little bit more than a month ago. Has there bee any progress or could you give a guess when the HUD-support will happen?

Thanks!

When will the hand replayers give the total size of the pot?

Also, will it be possible to set the processed hands foler to different locations for different databases?

I play FR and 6max and I have sperate folders for both processed hands but at the moment i have to switch it back and forth, I'd also like to do this for datamined hands and my datamined database.

Yes, there has. If you aren't running Beta 14 you should download it (without PostgreSQL) and install it and you should see a noticeable improvement.

We are hoping that we will finish fixing the rest of the HUD bugs this week and that next week you will start to see new features be released again, starting with the OnGame HUD.

It's possible. Betfair is currently 9th on our list of sites to add support for, and while we are hoping to start adding new site support next week, it's hard to predict exactly how long the first 8 sites on the list will take, interspersed with other features that have been very heavily requested (auto-rate functionality, selective purging, etc). However, you should start to see rapid progress very soon.

The replayer will be getting a significant update in the future, including pot size and HUD statistics among other things. Unfortunately I don't know exactly when that will take place as it depends on a variety of factors out of my control.

The ability to separate your hands as you describe is planned but it is not currently high priority.

Just want to chime in and say that I feel like a sucker for purchasing PT3 when it first went commercial.

I bought it having faith in the developers because I used PT2/PAHUD for a long time but I had nothing but problems with the new software.
After it freezing up and timing me out of a multiple pots I gave up and bought HEM which has yet to lockup and prevent me from clicking a poker clients buttons.

I guess I got enough out of PT2 that the sunk cost of PT3 isn't a big deal but it still feels like I got taken.

I dont think the author of PT2 has anything to do with the writing of PT3. Is it not the case that the rights to the name Poker Tracker were bought by the PAHUD guy?

But didnt you guys test it first? It does have a 60 day trial...

Edit: In fact longer I believe because arent the trial times being reset for another 60 days or something?

Definitely a mistake on my part buying it so early. I will say I thought the application was fairly stable when it was released. Things have gone down hill since then. I also figured once it went commericial new features would be added quickly, instead they have spent the last couple of months fixing bugs and not adding anything new. I'm fairly certain this will continue for the next few months.

The reason I did not pay is stability, or better said, lack of it.
Related to hypocrisy, I will congratulate the PT3 team once again. They do their best. It is usually the buyer who has to evaluate the merchandise prior to purchase.

Could I make an impassioned plea for an integrated notes system to be prioritized higher than both EV functionality and autorate?

(sorry if this is already in there, currently traveling with only a mac for company so I havent actually tried Beta 14 yet )

Short thing, probably been mentioned before a ton:

When I multitable w/ HUD on, and want to datamine at the same time, HUD is on at all tables at the same time, which really almost kills my computer... Would really like to get a performance increase ASAP with that issue, really thinking about getting an alternative solution else.

I think it sucks if you can only datamine w/o the HUD on, so I can't play at the same time... Meh... I like the performance overall of PT3, but the HUD really sucks atm, needs some serious fixes.

Also, but this might already be possible: Is there an option to FIX the current layout setting, so you can't accidentally move the stats around?
