Yes, though this is a fairly large undertaking so I can't say how soon it will be available.

I read on the PT3 forums that Josh took a week off with his family. I'll probably get flamed for this but nothing like selling a piece of software with a ton of bugs and many common features missing and then taking time off. They are also going to the WSOP gaming expo next week so that will be more time away from fixing PT3.

I really think it's going to take a few weeks to a month to get the current bugs fixed and then a couple of months to get all the features that PT2 had in PT3. Unless they hire more developers it looks like we won't see any "new" features until the end of the year.

Yeah. We paid big $$ so we deserve 24/7 attention!

Seriously: I've been using PT3 exclusively for a few weeks now, and only had a few minor issues. I understand there are some people that are experiencing major issues, but I'm sure they will be resolved.
I think PT3 is going to get soooo much better than PT2!

I really don't understand why people don't get upset about the state of PT3. PietM, you're right it will be better than PT2 but not for a long time. The truth is it should be better, if it wasn't going to be better there would be no use in developing it. The problem is it's not better now, it's missing many of the simple features that PT2 has. It also is very buggy. I can probably count on one hand the number of times PT2 ever crashed on me over 3 years. PT3 crashes multiple times every day.

It's not my fault that the product was released too soon. Since it was and since it's buggy it's my right to complain about it until it's fixed. I could care less if someone goes on vacation, but when you have a product that needs attention you better have someone to pick up the slack while you are gone.

Get Holdem manger for the time being or STFU.

Jesus christ it's like $80. If you cant afford $80 then stop playing poker.

They are a very small team of software developers with almost no extensive beta testing facilties, of course there will be problems. Am i happy with the software? No. Are they happy with it? No. Did they intend to have these problems when they released? No.

I cant believe anyone would criticise him spending time with his family. Its a only piece of poker tracking software FFS!

Rant over, now *****.

Thanks.

Are you serious? I work on PT3 a MINIMUM of 60 hours every week. For the past three months or so, it's been a minimum of 80 hours every week. We had a wedding to attend and made a vacation out of it. I will not apologize for that. Working 60-80 hours a week every week is a recipe for burnout. Would you rather me take a week off, come back refreshed and ready to go, or work a few additional weeks before I crash and can't work productively for months? I am NOT a robot. I need time with my family (I've only been married for 10 months now and I hardly spend any time with my wife), I need relaxation and I need sleep. I'm working very hard to fix the problems PT3 has, but I'm not going to spend every waking hour on it. That's entirely unrealistic.

Yes, we are going to the WSOP expo. This has been in the works for many months and we made a commitment to be there. Considering the MAJORITY of the problems with the Hud were fixed with Beta 13, and Beta 14 is coming out later today, I do not see this being a problem.

We DO plan on hiring more development help. Unfortunately, it's not the best time to do so as training the new help will take time and I want to focus on fixing problems right now and not teaching someone the PT3 framework.

Re: New Software: PokerTracker 3 - 3.00.2 (Beta 13 available) - 12-June-2008

Beta 14 Released

Added:
  • TableTracker: Support for PokerStars
Changed:
  • Adjust Qualifying Tables Limits won't change the limit if the seat count doesn't work
  • Automatically starts PostgreSQL services if they aren't running
Fixed:
  • More import problems
  • Hud: Filter by Current Blind Level (Tournaments)
  • Hud: PT icon location now saves again
  • Hud: Crashing issues
  • Party: Auto-Import will now recognize new tables
  • Import: Everest invalid pot size errors
  • Import: OnGame issues
  • Filters: Certain filters causing SQL errors in reports

Unfortunately I did not have enough time to get as many bug fixes in this release as I would've liked. There are a few big ones though, such as the Party import problem and some more Hud stability and lag issues. If you still have Hud issues, please open a new support ticket (or respond to your existing ticket) and provide the following information:

1. What site you are playing on
2. What kind of table you are playing on (cash or tournament, 6 max or full ring)
3. How many tables you are playing on
4. Whether renaming your Layouts.pt3 file to Layouts.backup and restarting PT3 helps the problem any
5. How many databases you are using and how many hands are in each database
6. If you play multiple sites, is the problem isolated to one of them, or does it occur on all
7. Reproduce the problem, then attach the PokerTracker.log, PokerTrackerHud.log and the Layouts.pt3 file to the ticket

Doing all of that will be a tremendous help in assisting us to figure out your problem.

In addition to the bug fixes, we were able to add PokerStars support to TableTracker. Let us know how it works.

We realize that not much other than bug fixes have gotten accomplished the past month and a half. We really had no idea how elusive these Hud issues would remain. That's why we've decided that once we're confident the bugs have been fixed, we will be extending the trial again for everyone who hasn't yet purchased and has been waiting for the bugs to be fixed and/or features to be added. We truly appreciate your patience and want you to be able to test PT3 to its fullest.

PLEASE NOTE: This version does not fix (or attempt to fix) all of the known bugs. If you submitted a support ticket and have not received a message saying your issue should be resolved in the next release, then your bug probably hasn't been fixed yet. If you want, please try this version and if it doesn't fix your problem, just add another message to your ticket saying Beta 14 doesn't fix your problem. That will save some time in instances where I would ask you to try.

- you need to change the title of this thread, as that is all that some people check

- although i'm not really happy with the premature release of this software, etc, you really can't berate a man for taking a few days of with his family, especially at what must be a stressful time. In the end I'm sure he will be more productive if he doesn't have a complete breakdown....

Re: New Software: PokerTracker 3 - 3.00.2 (Beta 13 available) - 12-June-2008

I still get a HUD-crash-poblem on FullTilit where there is a popup which says I have to restart PokerTracker.

Now I will add this to a support-ticket.

But I also wanna know how many people get this too?

This is the last issue I have with PT3.

Good job on the fixes.

We saw this issue in the most recent alpha build as well; PokerTracker3TableCover objects are the ones that draw the stats on your tables. These shouldn't be showing up, but they are under certain conditions (and before you ask: no I'm not sure what they are; if I knew I'd tell Josh and we'd get it fixed

For the meantime, please just ignore them, they should vanish after you stop the HUD.

We can't change the title ourselves, we need a mod to do that. I'm sure one will notice later today and get around to changing the title

Since it was not specifically mentioned in the update, my guess would be no. That said, please try upgrading to Beta 14 anyway and see if it does help. If you have a support ticket open and Beta 14 does not help just add a note to it saying Beta 14 does not help and it will save us a little back and forth later.

The culprit is probably your firewall. Try disabling it first and see if that helps. If it does, you should go into the configuration and see if you can carve out an exception for PostgreSQL (it uses port 5432).

Good job on the fixes.
We appreciate your addition of this information to our support system. The more responses we get the easier it is for us to figure out exactly what is going on, and hence, the easier it is to fix things.

One thing you can check is to see if it is your layout file. Rename C:\Program Files\PokerTracker 3\Data\Layouts.pt3 to Layouts.backup and restart the HUD and see if it crashes again on Beta 14. If it does, it isn't your layout (as you should see a default layout) and you should mention this in your ticket. If it does not crash you should zip up and include the Layouts.backup file so that we can figure out what it is about your layout that is causing problems.

If you could locate the most recent 3 log files from C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\8.3\data\pg_log and attach them to a support ticket via our support system we will help you get it worked out.

When logging is enabled PokerTracker 3 writes two files to your computer in the C:\Program Files\PokerTracker 3\ directory: PokerTracker.log and PokerTrackerHud.log. These files contain information as to what was going on while PT3 was running and we can use this information to help debug various issues and understand more quickly what is going on in the case of some errors. You enable logging by making sure that Configure --> Options --> Logging Enabled on the menu bar is checked. You need to restart PT3 for logging to begin.

Is this in Beta 14? Are you including any other filters? What stats are you trying to show? If it's just Player Name and Total AF and #Total AF# < 1 it should work fine (I just checked on my database, personally). If you're adding more stuff, please try removing some of it and if you pinpoint what additions cause problems, please let me know.

When was your database originally created? If it was created a while back you may have had an import error at some point. If the database is not too large (< 1M hands) you could try exporting all of the hands, creating a new database and reimporting those hands into a clean database to see if that is causing the error. If you still have the error on a clean database send me a PM and I'll help you figure it out.

Is it still happening in Beta 14? If so, have you submitted a ticket with log files about the crash? If you haven't, and it is still occurring in Beta 14 we would appreciate the information; it will help us pinpoint what is causing the crash further at which time we will fix it.

Re: New Software: PokerTracker 3 - 3.00.2 (Beta 14 available) - 01-July-2008

Well, I am new to the tracking databases even though I have been playing online for 3+ years, I was more seriously a live player, and just played online to screw around. Downloading PT3 at the end of May helped to get me focused and to actually put in hours online, so that alone has helped my winrate greatly.

I also had the expiring problems, and downloaded Beta 13 yesterday morning, then got home and saw 14 was released, and downloaded it, but haven't tried it out yet.

Beta 13 solved the Hero HUD problems of disappearing, which was one of my two complaints in my very untechnical usage of it.

My only other complaint is that I can't select a preferred seat at Stars and have the HUD display the stats at the new location, I have to keep whatever seat I am given and can't have a preferred seat. Is there a way to set that which I am too unsavy to find, or is it some update coming at a future time?

Other than that, I am very happy with the product, but again, have nothing to compare it to.

Thanks.

If you use the Preferred Seat option from the PokerStars lobby rather than the "Sit Me Here" option your seat should be automatically detected. Once you have Beta 14 installed, please make sure you have the Preferred Seat selected that way (PT3 has no way of detecting if you use "Sit Me Here") and if it isn't working please submit a support request so that we can help you troubleshoot it from there.

Maybe an option to show only first characters of a screenname will be good so this guys with screennames of 10000+ characters cant cover all my table.
