The new beta doesnt pick up all the players for me and sometimes it just fully stops working and i get an error message something like the hud need to be restarted or something.

There was no lag though when it did work and no focus stealing.

Please try renaming your Layouts.pt3 file to Layouts.backup and restarting PT3 and see if that resolves your issue. If it does, please send the Layouts.backup file to us via the support system so that we can examine what is causing this error.

If renaming the layout does not resolve your issue, please make sure logging is enabled (Configure --> Options --> Enable logging, restart PT3 if requested), reproduce the issue, and attach the PokerTracker.log and PokerTrackerHud.log files to a support request and we will look into what is causing this issue further.

Not sure if I should put this in a private support ticket but:

Does PT3 know how to distinguish between old ipoker hands (before the hand history format was altered slightly) and new ones? If I import all my histories since October 2006 will it do it correctly?
06-14-2008 , 10:24 AM
I think it should, but I am not 100% certain. If you would like me to test it for you, please send me a sample of those HHs via PM and I'll let you know if they work.

didnt check the thread, has the transparency been added to teh HUD?
06-14-2008 , 10:46 AM
Tranlucency has been in the HUD for quite a while now, and I haven't heard anybody having trouble with it. You can change the translucency for each group from the Groups tab, and for mucked cards from the Hud Options tab while configuring the HUD.

There is a HUGE difference between TRANSPARENCY and TRANSLUCENCY !!!

I would MUCH PREFER a TRANSPARENT background (like PAHUD has) than a TRANSLUCENT panel like PT3 currently has.

This is what happens when I click begin auto import. The HUD table icon and the HUD never show up. Importing was working fine in Build2 (but the HUD was crashing). So I've changed nothing but the new Build DL

After those first couple of warnings do hands import?
Sometimes you will get this, as hand histories can be incomplete if you close a table mid-hand, or if everyone sits out just as the hand is about to start, etc.

I apologize for mis-reading your original post. I am sure transparent backgrounds are on the list of features to add, however we have been currently working on stabilizing the HUD and we are not adding new features until things are completely stable. We hope this will not take too much longer, at which point we will begin adding new features rapidly.

tried beta 13 last night in a long 8 table session. Worked very well, HUD was a lot more stable than build 2. A few times, the last hand review overlay got "stuck", a simple reset was able to correct the problem.

After the session, I stopped the auto-import, but when I went to check on the stats they did not update. Once I restarted the whole application they showed up.

Overall, it was solid.

Sorry about the gruffness of my previous post ... just wanted to pint out the difference in what was being asked and replied to. I have been told previously that transparency was to come.

Well, it appears to me that working on new HUD features is just around the corner. Personally speaking, I am not seeing any HUD lag at all ... so far.

Nope it just stays like that forever Whiterider, I tried closing PT, the tables and restarting the import. Basically every combination of trying to get it to import but it just wont.

Glad to hear it.
You don't need to restart, though, just click the "Refresh" button.

Sorry to repeat myself..
It's possible those hand histories just aren't complete. Did you open more tables since then and try importing again?
If it still won't work, Please enable logging, reproduce the problem and submit your PokerTracker.log to the
Support system , and link to this thread.

Just tried importing some hands into a new database...

It was a good time to try because i was going out of town for a few days.

So, my import was literally running for 2.5 DAYS, and it's imported about 400k hands... at a nice 2.3 hands /sec...

This is still beyond frustrating and I've had this problem for over a month now at least... and it just doesn't seem to be that big of a priority...

if the problem has to do with big file sizes, can't you at least make it so when you export a database, it doesnt make huge txt files ?????
06-14-2008 , 03:40 PM
I understand that beta 13 exports to files in smaller batches of 500.
06-14-2008 , 04:48 PM
unfortunately, that doesn't help for my main db that is under 1mil hands.
and my mined db which is 4mil+ hands... that have already been exported to txt files...

it's seriously going to take like 3 WEEKS JUST to import them
and if that's the case, i'm not going to keep using PT3
06-14-2008 , 05:23 PM
Whiterider, ya I've opened and closed 16 tables multiple times, I'll make a support ticket and send it in tonight.

The HUD stability issues have had very high priority for the latest releases. Now that the HUD stability has signicifantly improved for most users, Josh will be able to work on other things as well, like speeding up the imports and finding out what the problem is with large files and so on.

I believe that EV functionality is quite high on the list of the new features to be added, so it shouldn't be too long.
06-15-2008 , 04:33 AM
for me import is working much faster than before
btw. whats the priority of:
- general notes in hud / PT3 for each player
- stats on the replayer
06-15-2008 , 04:54 AM
For some reason duplicate hands import way slower than new hands. This seems really silly, and sucks when I'm trying to build my DB off of a bunch of overlapping files from various sources.
06-15-2008 , 06:00 AM
with regards to going from PT2 to PT3.. I want to get rid of all observed hands.. so would i be best off just purging all observed hands in my PT2 DB then exporting all hands into text files to then import into PT3?..
If I have Prima hands in this lot of exported hands- what will happen if I try to import them into PT3?.. Will they just not import and show as errors?..
06-15-2008 , 06:13 AM
any idea when it will support Paradise Poker?
