I've never seen worse than about 50 myself. You could also consider defragging your hard drive if you haven't in a while; PostgreSQL keeps data in lots of separate files and as those get scattered around the disc and it may degrade performance (note: you do need 15% of your HD free in order for defrag to work properly).
I've already gone over this with Josh more than once... My com puter is pretty much brand new, and powerful (granted it only has a 7200 rpm HD) and I defrag at least once a week...
Finally after having a support ticket open for a while, he says to try to put the HH's in a folder that's not on the desktop. I do that and then get about 150hands/sec. Which is great... Problem solved right? LOL of course not
Now since I have to re-import everything yet again.
I try the a folder not on the desktop. ANd get 15hands/sec. I go to sleep wake up this morning, and it's at 7h/sec, with 12 hrs remaining. (and this is only for a 600k h db)
I can't wait to do my 4mil hand db....
Also, I tried probalby 5 different folders all over my computer hoping to duplicate that 150h/ssec
but no way, that was somehow a one time fluke i guess...
And I'd like to think I've been pretty patient also, but i'm afraid that is wearing thin...
I'd open another support ticket, but I have like 3 open since May 3, that have been ignored so whats the point
