Re: New Software: PokerTracker 3 - 3.00.2 (incl. TableTracker) - 16-May-2008

PT2 and PAHUD both still work great and I believe those two come with the purchase of PT3 if you didn't already own them. It does kind of stink to have all these bugs after purchasing PT3 but the older versions still do the job and I'm sure PT3 will be up to speed soon enough. It's not like this initial commercial release is the final product, it's more like a beta that costs money lol. But they'll be able to fix more stuff faster because people paid for it and will be more willing to submit problems. Then we can get all of the cool features added.

Re: New Software: PokerTracker 3 - 3.00.2 (incl. TableTracker) - 16-May-2008

I installed PT3 the other day and today imported 1mil observed hands from my pt2 database. I was going to try it out for my sessions tonight but got annoyed as soon as started opening tables. I normally open tables let a hand or two play so i can see the PAHUD stats then decide if i want the table. Well i got on the waiting list accepted a few tables and then stats loaded, but not at the right places. I assume it has something ot do with me sitting out and using the center me option on FTP. Is there anyway to fix this so the HUD acts just like PAHUD and puts the stats in the correct places, while i am sitting out?

Also, you said that 3.00 would be the last time we needed to re-import hands, but then because of the changes in 3.00.2 I was told to purge and re-import. This is obviously very hasslesome. I don't really want to keep doing this. Is it safe to do the final, big, major import yet?

I just want a version of the software that is "good-to-go" and I dont need to keep going back and forth between 2 & 3!!!!

After months of loyally waiting , I really wish I had switched to HEM months ago. I feel somewhat cheated and agreived by the constantly slipping deadlines and promises, especially when many of my savvy midstakes opponents have been using 3/4-bet statistics for months now.

I'm seriously considering taking my business elsewhere, even at the 11th hour.

They said 2 weeks ago that a new build would be released within a few days fixing the hud, still no sign of it. I should have bought HEM months ago also.

Every question thats asked is answered with planned, planned, planned, this should all have been done prior to charging people $90 imo.

Set auto import to the "hand history" folder, not the "hand history\<player>" folder.

You can put them anywhere you like, then go to the Configure -> Configure Stats menu/window Statistics tab, and click Import.

Wow, I am having all sorts of problems with this software. It is EXTREMELY slow and unresponsive when I use the hud, only about half the players stats even show up, and the mouse over stat box is empty. Is anyone finding that the hud is just terrible and slow?

Yeah me too. With multiple groups, its almost unusable. And it's not my pc (dual core, 4gb ram).

They said that next build will have big improvement in hud performance department.

Is there a way to make it so that the HUD resizes when tables get smaller? Once the tables get smaller than default size on FTP the stats don't stick in place like they did on PAHUD.

Re: New Software: PokerTracker 3 - 3.00.2 (incl. TableTracker) - 16-May-2008

I just found this in the PT3 Forums. It was posted by Josh on Jun 01, 2008 1:31 am, according to the post time stamp.

Quote:
Guys, the reason this has taken so long is that the Hud had a fundamental flaw in the design that required rewriting massive portions of the code. You can't do a massive rewrite in a couple of days time and expect it to function properly. I've been focusing most of my energy on getting the Hud working properly (and the rest of my energy on the other bugs, mainly import problems). We are very close to being able to release something to you guys. With any luck, sometime tomorrow.
I too am eagerly awaiting build 3 and find myself frustrated at times. I'm sure this is a delay that Josh would rather not be experiencing, but after what seems like an eternity an explanation has been given. I think that if it were given DAYS ago there might have been more uderstanding and less angry words and bad feelings.

fair play for charging people $90 that has a fundament flaw in the design. top notch stuff.

Oh one more thing, PT wont load for me. It just stays on the the "Poker tracker 3, version 3.00 blah blah" banner.

Yeah, I paid $90 for this? It isn't even finished yet and it will probably take a few more releases before its working properly. I might as well get HM instead.

If you're referring to observed PokerStars tables, PT3 doesn't read that yet. We do plan on adding this functionality though.

Try creating a new database and see if you still experience the problem.

However, when I try to auto-import on Ongame (Eurobet), nothing really happens. This is what it says (and I am playing on Ongame right now, have been for a while):

"OnGame: Starting auto-import.
2008/05/28 01:38:33: PartyGaming: Starting auto-import.
2008/05/28 01:38:33: OnGame: Found 0 files to monitor.
2008/05/28 01:40:06: OnGame: Loading hand history file: C:\Program Files\Pokeri\EurobetPoker\Resources\Databases\User XXXXXXXXXStatistics.db
2008/05/28 01:40:26: PartyGaming: Found 0 files to monitor."

What does happen, however, is that "Import Statistics" shows hands: 0, errors: 0 but duplicates keeps rising and rising at about 10/sec, it's now at 3000ish and growing. Does this mean that it's just trying to import all of my old hands and hasn't gotten to the new one's yet? How could I fix this?

Edit: I just did a manual import and it recognized my new hands so that works I guess.
You should allow PT3 to move processed files. That way, it doesn't have to read through all the hands in your .db file each time you start it.

Set PT3 to read from the HandHistory directory, NOT the HandHistory\<user> directory.

No, but you can make it using the Custom Statistics.

We have hired people, but hiring a new developer right now would be a very bad idea. I would have to spend my time getting him/her up to speed on the design and answering questions instead of actually getting work done.

I understand it's frustrating. The next release fixes a LOT of import problems, so you should be pretty safe with doing your major import after it's released.

Yeah, I mean, when coding the Hud I thought "I'll introduce a design flaw in here, charge everyone money for it, THEN spend time fixing it!".

Do you have any firewall or security software that might be interfering with PT3?

We have four support employees working for us, there was just a tremendous flood of support issues with the initial release, most of it completely unanticipated.

Re: New Software: PokerTracker 3 - 3.00.2 (incl. TableTracker) - 16-May-2008

I was able to crate the custom stat using IrBerg's Columns from his post.
My expression for the stat is:
(cnt_f_3bet_after_raise / cnt_f_3bet_after_raise_opp) * 100

It did validate so I hope it is calculating what I need. I compared some of the numbers to their Fold to PF 3bet & there is a drastic difference.

cnt_f_3bet_after_raise = sum(if[(holdem_hand_player_statistics.flg_p_first_raise) AND (holdem_hand_player_statistics.flg_p_fold),1,0])

I verified this using the Fold to 3bet PF statistic of HM.

When I make a filter "since a date" beginning June 1, the graph and general tabs have different hand numbers. But when I start the filter from 5/31 everything matches up.

Could this be due to PokerStars hh's being in a different timezone as my pokertracker settings? (although i still cant see why the graph and general tab would still have different hand counts)
