we can still use PT2 right?
05-18-2008 , 05:14 AM
GUI suggestion I'd REALLY like: Please make all the rows in every report alternating colors, and/or selectable (even if only for the sole purpose of highlighting). e.g.: - see with the alternating blue and white?

Also, ETA (I won't hold you to it ) for Crypto support? I realllllllllllllly want to make a lifetime graph, but I need to be able to import my pre-UIGEA hands to do that.

What do the analyze, cluster, and vacuum functions do? How often do I need to run each?
05-18-2008 , 06:28 AM
Suggestion: A single-click maintenance button that would batch analyse/cluster/vacuum all your databases (or even better, selected databases)

Dont know if this has been discussed earlier in this thread, but:

1. My own stats are not showing most of the time, sometimes they are there for a hand or two, and then disappear. Restarting PT3 helps sometimes. I play on iPoker.

2. I made a new group of stats myself, and it usually doesnt appear until I have restarted PT3 1-3 times. Very annoying...

3. Would it be possible to get the playernotes from PT3 to the HUD? iPoker note taking system is horrible so this could be a cool feature, could add them into a pop-up.

thx.

In position stats uder small blind and AKo I have a hand which is says lost a buy-in on it when I folded it in the SB pre-flop.

Any way to fix this? Whats the deal with Ongame having issue with hands from the blinds? I noticed the sign on Pokerev for this aswell.

i don't know if there's an easier way but you could go to configure->configure statistics and create a new stat, amt_bb_won/2? or something like that
05-18-2008 , 08:46 AM
Thanks Lateksi, but big blind/100 should be default in this day and age no?

Have those poo-flinging monkeys make BB_amt x2 custom stats imo
05-18-2008 , 08:50 AM
Heh. I'm so used to Big Bets that I prefer it now. Even though Big Blinds make more sense for NL obviously.
05-18-2008 , 08:59 AM
Bleh, it will take you no more than a week to get used to Big Blinds.

Not sure if its been mentioned or asked, but is there a way to filter for hands when rake is over .40 $1.00, $3.00 like use to be available in the old game notes? It was usefull for finding out how many vpp per hands at pokerstars.
05-18-2008 , 11:24 AM
the hud is really slow, when i come over about 8 tables it maxes out my cpu, so thats its hardly possible to play, while pahud and PT2 wasn't slow at all playing about 18 tables with the same setup.
i have postgres 8.3 installed and the database is a new one from today.
also i cant't find table averages stats, do they exist?

I suggested this awhile back and I'm still hoping it's added at some point. Much easier to tell it to vacuum/cluster/analyze all at once and then go off and do something else rather than having to check on it every hour to start the next phase.

my popup stats aren't coming up. i haven't really been following this closely, so plz just link me to a post # if this has been covered.

So i did a search through the C:/ drive and discovered what is taking up so much damn space....its Postgres--nearly 90GB. PT3 = 4GB

Here is a screenshot. I had postgres prior to PT3 and then downloaded the version that included it...should i delete the 89GB program below the PT3 folder? Is it supposed to be that huge?
The PT3 directory should not be taking up 4 GB of space unless you've moved a LOT of hand histories to the processed directory.

The PT3 database, when vacuumed, should take about 3-4 GB per million hands. Try starting a new database and import smaller amounts (500k?) at a time and vacuum after each import.

Just the sites listed. See: http://www.pokertracker.com/products/PT3/supported.php

Yes, popup stats will be improving. I agree, it's a little ridiculous right now.

In the Database Management window, click New, then click Browse. Find your old database. If you want to delete it, after adding it, click the Delete button. That will remove it from your harddrive.

I have imported all my hands and tourney histories from files using manual import. I have checked the files and they should be all there. However, there are some extremely odd errors.

1) Under Texas Holdem - Tournaments - General, it is only showing my results for about the 1st half of 2006. The tournament number played is exactly 1600 (I have around 9K tourney summaries that actually imported). The really odd thing is that under the top tab that says Tournaments - Enter Results, they're all there! HOWEVER, only for the 1st half of 2006 does my name show up in the tournament histories. After that, my name and finishing position don't show up! I'll type out an example of a corrupt $335 buyin SNG summary where I would have come 1st:

2 dave3318 $850.50
3 River Prayer $567.00
4 zippy52
5 blackbeard17
7 Bonsy
8 WPTVIPER
9 mao15

Notice that the 1st place and 6th place players are missing. When I look at the same file in my directory where I imported from, the file is fine and has my name in it. Notice that 6th place player, poker_in_pb is also missing in the one above. This is a regular who I play a lot against, if that matters. Here's the proper one from my directory on my computer:

PokerStars Tournament #57059352, No Limit Hold'em
Buy-In: $315.00/$20.00
9 players
Total Prize Pool: $2835.00
Tournament started - 2007/08/01 - 00:02:56 (ET)
Tournament finished - 2007/08/01 - 00:42:52 (ET)
1: ryanghall (Hamilton), $1417.50 (50%)
2: dave3318 (Coram), $850.50 (30%)
3: River Prayer (San Francisco), $567.00 (20%)
4: zippy52 (the woodlands),
5: blackbeard17 (rockville),
6: poker_in_pb (San Diego),
7: Bonsy (Marquette),
8: WPTVIPER (COOKEVILLE),
9: mao15 (Scottsdale),

I also just realized that the last tournament recorded was May 17, 2006. EXACTLY 2 years ago from when I started doing this. That's too much of a coincidence and clearly is part of the bug I'm guessing? (And yes, my computer is set to the right time).

Has anyone else had a problem like this and figured out a way to fix it? I've tried everything short of importing my other 7500 or so HHs 1 by 1 (I imported 1 manually and it worked but I've now TWICE imported all of them at once and it only takes the first 1600). It was a manual import both times. I tried the auto import but gave up after 6 hours of it doing nothing.

Ryan
The easiest way for me to solve this would be to reproduce this. So if you don't mind, zipping your histories and attaching them to a support ticket would get this resolved. Make sure the zip file or files are no bigger than 6 mb.

Sure. There's no reason why you can't.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll put some thought into it. I can't give any sort of ETA right now. We need to get these bugs fixed, and new features have to wait for that. Cluster/vacuum/analyze every 50k-100k hands, though analyze and vacuum would be better to do a bit more often.

Please attach this hand history to a support ticket.

Not yet, unless you know how to manually adjust the setting in the "settings" table in the PT3 database.

You could make a custom report that filters for this.

A lot of the Hud bugs should be resolved by the next release due out mid week.
05-18-2008 , 02:06 PM
My Hud wont work at all now, i think its a disgrace to be selling PT3 in the state its in now. I realise its tough to get everything sorted but i cant help but think if HoldemManager didnt exist then PT3 would not have been rush released the way it has. Charging people $90 for a buggy unfinished product and rely on paying customers to tell you where problems are is a shambles imo.
05-18-2008 , 02:32 PM
Would be nice if you guys react on support tickets in 48 hours...
05-18-2008 , 02:54 PM
PT3 has crashed on me multiple times while playing and HUD running. I am using the trial version and will gladly pay if/when the major bugs have been solved.

You have to make a custom report to see this (someting that can NO longer be done unless you purchase the key code).

You have to make the table avg stats yourself.
05-18-2008 , 04:53 PM
I just played 8 tables for a couple hours and am happy to say that the lag was down significantly from Beta 11. There were still instances where I experienced lag, but it was usually short duration and not as bad as it was previously.

Observing the %s in Task Manager while the lag was going on showed that:
1) PT3 was using 3%-8% CPU for one instance and 1%-3% for the other
2) Postgres was using 5%-11%
3) Stars was using 2%-9%
4) The only other program that I had running was Stars Planner which varied between 15% and 27% CPU (usually in the 18%-22% range), spiking up to ~35% for short periods.
5) I almost ALWAYS had some System Idle value greater than 15%

Did anyone manage to create a proper "Fold to 3bet" custom stat? I read through the docs, but could not get it to work.

I'm currently using HM and I like it. The problem however is the LAG in the HUD I get when opening too many tables (like 10+). I tested PT3 and experienced the same LAG. Whenever this LAG is fixed I'll probably hop on board for PT3 (if HM won't fix it first).

About the Table Tracker. If it supports Full Tilt and Stars, has good update times (data on server is up to date and quicky downloaded) and if you can make your own custom scoring system (ie "if VPIP 30>40 and AF<0.25*VPIP then score is 10") I'm definately willing to pay $20 a month for the product.
