Re: New Software: PokerTracker 3 - 3.00.1 (incl. TableTracker) - 15-May-2008

As I am reimporting all hands, how can I delete my old databases from the beta versions?

I hate doing this because it's off-topic but it's probably the best place anyways.

It says send a message "here" but "here" is not a link. Does he mean the proceed button? I thought that was for a support ticket.

Once you're done with re-importing all of your hands go to the Database Management menu, and select the old database. Click on Delete and the database will be deleted (as well as from PT as from PostGres).

2. Trying to export 750K hands from my old database (which I stopped using a long time ago because it got kind of messed up, wouldn't allow me to import any hands when it was an Access database, but for some reason converting it to Postgres didn't work), and I think it was going pretty fast at first, but the Export HH window decided to stop updating, and in the past hour it's only written like 10MB worth of hands (I had this configured for 300 hands per file). However, ptrack2.exe is still using a high % of CPU power.
3. Still have a 2.5M hand datamining database to export hands from.

If I manually end the ptrack2.exe, will it damage the database I'm currently exporting from? I'm thinking I could try an analyze/vacuum and maybe that will help fix this speed problem.

EDIT: Bleh, whatever, doesn't seem to be exporting anything at all now. I'll just end it and hope my computer doesn't ASPLODE.
It shouldn't damage the database as it's only reading from it. I'm not guaranteeing that, but it shouldn't.

Under the "Winnings" tab, there is bug with my hours. It has me playing more hours than I actually played on many dates in the "Winnings for Month" section, thus skewing my $$/Hour in the "Winnings by Month" section. For example, on May 14, it says I played for 11.83 hours, when I actually played for ~45 minutes in the moring (10:30-11:15) and for ~2 hours at night (9:00-11:00). It seems like on days when I played multiple sessions, it is counting all of the time in between as playing time. It has me playing for almost 24 hours on a few days when I played < 1000 hands.

Finally, on the HUD, my own stats will randomly disappear for like 5-10 minutes on a few random tables.
The date filter was broke by a last minute change. I'll get it fixed shortly. I'll get the hours problem fixed too. I'm also looking into the disappearing hero stats.

Hmm, actually possibly a more serious issue with the hand replayer. Poker Tracker locked up while automatically switching hands and is using 100% of one core's time. Auto import was running.
I will get these issues resolved shortly.

1. What site are you asking about? If it doesn't automatically recognize them, you need to go to Tournaments -> Enter Results and adjust them manually.

2. We have quick-start documentation on our website in the PT3 section.

Also, when manually importing there seems to be no way to not store the hand history (there's little reason to store it in the database now that the action is there anyway other than reimporting and you can keep the hand history files themselves for that).

It's interpreted some pokerstars play money sngs I played while testing the software early on as real money buy-ins, one dollar for every play money chip.

Exporting tournaments from poker tracker 2 doesn't seem to export manually entered results, could something be added to import these from a poker tracker 2 database?
The replayer uses the hand histories as unfortunately not every last aspect of the hand can be saved in the database. They will also be needed for any future database changes.

There's no reliable way to identify PokerStars play money tournaments from some of their freeroll tournaments, so PT3 has to import them.

In the PT2 -> PT3 conversion, PT3 will read your tournament information, though PT2 has tournament export options.

Yes, go to Database Management and click New. Click Browse and find your old database. You won't be able to import into it though, since there were database changes. You'll need to export the hands to disk and import them into a new database.

There won't be any need to reimport from now on in, right?

Also is there a way to import directly from a HM database?

as you can see the stats in the pop up menu (correct stats) do not match the stats displayed on the table. Same thing with other players i have several hundred hands on must players but most players say i only have like 20 hands on them on the HUD
This is probably due to the popup queries being executed at different times than the table queries. The optimizations we have planned should put an end to that.

This is even worse than PA HUD! And it doesn't even work with all the sites PT2 worked with.

I know this is "only the beginning", but if you call your software "commercial release" it shouldn't be a beta!
I explained this earlier, please search for my post.

Manual export the HH from HM, and then manually import them to your new PT3 DB.

I like it and already purchased it but there is tons of work to do I think Won't go into much detail as most of it is on your feature list I think.

- could you add winnings in the sumary tab also? would be interesting to compare the sites.
Graphing feature should be fully detailes also (sites, imit, time)
TableTracker will be receiving a lot of improvements. You will need to re-import hands into this release.

Yes, there shouldn't be any more re-imports due to database changes. They should be handled automatically by PT3.

This could only be true if PT2 is outputting the pre-update iPoker hands in a different format to the post-update ones. Is this true? If so we're all a bit ****ed as now I have to find out exactly when my ipoker site switched to the new format, isolate the xml files, import them, then import the old hands from txt. Yes? It is not as simple as "Oh let's import everything from xml again" because the old xml format will be misinterpreted by PT3. A bit of guidance as to exactly what I need to do would be nice.

Re: New Software: PokerTracker 3 - 3.00.1 (incl. TableTracker) - 15-May-2008

I'm an idiot when it comes to this sort of thing, so I have a few questions. I just purchased PT3 and registered it. I don't know what postgreSQL does, and I don't think I had it for PT2, so I downloaded the version without it.

When I try to run PT3, I get a box that says "Configure PostgreSQL Database"

I have no idea what to do here. If I just leave everything as is, and click 'connect', I get an error message that says:

"Unable to connect to PostgreSQL database: PT3 DB
Reason: Unable to login to database (PT3 DB).
Reason: could not connect to server"

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
