I'd like to mention something. I know I've emphasized this several times in the other thread, but people might not be paying attention to that one.

I've read a few posts of people saying that PT3 doesn't look as good as the other new trackers coming out because it doesn't have as many features. Well, that might be true right now. However, we have not been focusing on shiny new features. We've been focusing on a solid, flexible, powerful foundation that is necessary in order to add all these shiny new features you all want.

I can guarantee that there will be very few features that these other trackers have that PT3 won't. It might take us a little while to get to them (we must replicate everything that PT2 offers first), but we will get to them.

Don't write PT3 off because of this first beta. We've got a long way to go and there will be a lot of great new features along the way.

Your priorities are in the right order, and I will be riding your ship along this journey. Just make sure to periodically stop along the way and let us see the progress.

When converting my old PT 2 database, it starts at 200 h/sec, and quickly goes down.

After 2-3 minutes I'm at about 2hands per second. 425 hands 99 duplicates...trying to import 250k hands

How to fix?

I'll add this - anyone who knows databases should check out the schema on the documentation pages - it gives you an impression of the amazing stuff that is going to be possible as the interface is built up. There is an immense amount of detail extracted from the hand histories

Yesterday I had problems with an unexpected win32 error and you told me to send that file in a support ticket.
I got a reply back that the problems is fixed in the next version.
I was just wondering if I should send some more examples cause I've had a couple more files like that.

Thanks but I think we have the issue resolved so no further examples should be necessary (unless if it still occurs after the next release).

Best regards,

I had it crash while importing FTP hands last night. I'll look at the log file when I get home from work; will it tell me what hand caused the problem? Cause it was in the middle of importing 130k hands.

We have not been able to identify the problem yet. I recommend aborting the conversion, exporting your hand histories to files in PT2, then importing them via the manual import tab in PT3.

Look at the end of the PokerTracker.log file, located in your main PT3 directory and it should list the problematic file/hands.

Derek

We believe we have fixed the crash during an import of some Party hands. Wait until the next beta release...

Any estimate of timeline for next release? I know tons of things come up, but any idea of a conservative estimate?

pt3 is awesome. that is all.
01-25-2008 , 06:25 PM
I tried to import 2.3 mil observed FTP hands and at one point after ~8 hours (2.1 mil finished) PT3 stopped processing. I also noticed that sometimes when I pause manual import and resume it I can't seem to stop the import process at all.
01-25-2008 , 06:38 PM
Most of the file import problems should be resolved in the next beta. I'm trying to get that out for tonight.

Sorry guys if I missed it, too many posts to catch up, but wasn't it supposed to work with other OSs as well ? eg. Mac OS X ?
I could only find a Win32 version there.

Looks awesome thought. I'm gonna try the win32 ver anyway
01-25-2008 , 07:00 PM
It's not currently available for any other operating systems. Mac OS X support is planned.

All I did was go to PT2-->Utilities-->Export Hand History To File...

Then just create a file to store the hand history in and go to PT3 and manual import the file. This seemed to work just fine for me.

It seems that the Tabs General, Hands and Sessions aren't auto refreshing during Auto Import. Other Tabs do refresh automaticly. Pushing the REFRESH butten does what it should do. Is there a possibility to auto refresh during play?
01-25-2008 , 07:56 PM
Anyone have problems with the auto-import regarding non-holdem hands? I have it set to read from my pokerstars hand history folder, and when i start auto import (before I have even opened the pokerstars client) it keeps reading off errors nonstop such as:

2008/01/25 17:53:44: PokerStars: Error: Unrecognized game type: razz limit ($1/$2)
2008/01/25 17:53:45: PokerStars: Error: Unrecognized game type: tournament #72648573, $10+$1 razz limit
2008/01/25 17:53:51: PokerStars: Error: Unrecognized game type: omaha pot limit ($0.05/$0.10)

Thing is it doesnt stop once it reads over them, it just keeps repeating the same errors in the same order like its in a loop or something.

That will work as well and is probably the preferred method until we determine why some users are having very slow conversion speeds from PT2 to PT3.

Derek

This feature is planned but has not yet been implemented. Soon...

It keeps reading them because PT3 is constantly reading the hand history directory looking for new hands. We should put in a check to skip over these hands while they are not supported...

Best regards,

Derek
