I was wondering if anyone knows how to delete a session from pokertracker. I got really drunk and let my friends play for a while. Anyways I want to delete all memories of that session. Can't really remember it myself. Thanks.
Edit: I just saw how on the new version you can delete sessions. Never thought about downloading as Im a cash game player and don't fix things that aren't broken, but I'll give it a go.

Yes, it's in the most recent Beta; Database --> Database Management, click on your database and click "purge", then select the session you want and purge it.

My hard drive crashed yesterday so I'd like to install PT3 on my gf's computer for the time being. Do I need a new registration code or do I use the same one I used for PT3 on my old comp? I emailed support but haven't heard back yet.

Use the same one, it will work fine.

Beta 22 Released

Fixed:
  • Hud stats not updating
  • Settings not saving properly
  • lookup_action in regards to tournament stats
  • OnGame hands where the dealer information is incorrect in the database file (causing hands not to be imported)
  • Email imports: Problems when connecting without using SSL
  • Sessions/Tournaments double-click filter that was broke in a previous release
  • More than 5-6 Boss tables not being recognized
  • New filters breaking the player list
  • PokerStars tournament summary changes

This is a bug fix release. Most of the problems people were having with beta 21 are resolved here.

For those of you who have submitted log files and information regarding a bug or problem you are having and have not received a response, don't worry. Your message is not being ignored. We are currently re-organizing the way bugs are dealt with. This should allow us to address bugs much easier and more efficiently. We are also still accepting applications for the development position. See our announcement on the C++ development job. Adding more developers will mean features can be added quicker and bugs can be addressed in a more timely fashion.

As for ongoing development, we hope to add more site support by the end of the year. Thanks to those of you who have submitted hands to us, but we still need more. We need hands from the following sites:
  • Absolute/Cereus
  • B2B
  • Betfair
  • Bodog
  • Cryptologic
  • Microgaming Network
  • Pacific Poker
  • Tain Network
  • Tribeca
  • Ultimate Bet
  • World Poker Exchange
We need hand histories in all formats and both cash and tournament hands. For sites that use database files or single xml files or whatever, we need those as well as any datamining formats and PT2 exported formats. The more hand histories we get, the easier and faster it will be for us to get support added for the site. The sites above are not listed in the order we will be adding them. We have been going by http://pokerscout.com and adding the sites by size. We may continue to do this or we may skip around now that the unsupported sites are pretty similar in size. To submit your hand histories, please follow this link.

The tournament hands import fine, the HUD displays fine, the only problem is that the summaries do not import properly. Hopefully this is something we will be able to resolve soon.

I apologize for your prior problems with our support system, however we have a new head of quality assurance who should be making sure these problems do not happen again.

So, if you could please enable logging (Configure --> Options --> Logging Enabled) and restart PT3, then reproduce this crash and attach the C:\Program Files\PokerTracker 3\PokerTracker.log and C:\Program Files\PokerTracker 3\PokerTrackerHud.log to a support request and PM me your ticket number, I'll make sure he takes a look at it and bumps it up the priority list.

More problem....

There must be something wrong with PT3 software, coz every time i start PT3, my CPU usage spike to 100% and thats when all these errors occur.
Does anyone has their CPU usage spike to 100% when starting PT?

Melissa,

Please submit these logs as well, and we'll look into it.

It may also be useful for you to zip up and attach the 3 most recent files in C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\8.3\data\pg_log just in case the issue is with the database server.
12-08-2008 , 03:16 PM
Thanks Kraada. Did you want me to post the logs here or PM you?

Creating a support ticket is best.

How do you create color conditions for PFR?

Like it would show as light red if PFR <= (VP$IP * 0,2)
And dark red if PFR >= (VP$IP * 0,8)

for example.

Figured it out.

Importing 22 million hands took 24 hours.

Clustering is going on 47 hours now.

1) How much longer can I expect the housekeeping to take and

2) How long do the periodic housekeepings take?
12-09-2008 , 03:00 PM
It depends on your computer; most importantly the hard drive. There are a couple of tutorials in the PT3 forum faqs (link) for performance tuning that might help you.

Periodic housekeepings do take less time than the initial one, but not a whole lot less, which is why I personally create new databases regularly; if you left your 22M database alone after housekeeping was finished and imported all new hands into a new database you'd never need to do housekeeping on those 22M hands again (and housekeeping on smaller databases is obviously much, much faster).

My HDD died on me this morning and the last time i saved my data was 11/23.
Getting a new one in 3 days.
Can't access my HD anymore. Understand my PT3 data are stored on my HD.
Is there anyway i can get HH to import to PT3 after 11/23?

Thanks.

There are several ways of boosting your performance.

The absolute best would be to have two RAID 1+0 arrays of 15k RPM disks, and to have the data on one and the transaction log on the other.

That's a bit out of the range of doability for most people, though. Having multiple disks will help, so long as you set up a tablespace for the PT3 data on the hard drive that PostgreSQL is not installed on. (Tutorial: Performance tuning for multiple hard drives.)

The reason for this is that when you have a tablespace in this fashion the postgresql transaction logs go on the other hard drive from the actual data, thus when you write data to the database the logs can be written and the data can be written simultaneously.

(The RAID array would further boost performance becuase a 1+0 array has multiple disks and redundancy built in to improve data writing speed.)

I am having a weird problem with performance. When I use Build 3 everything is fine and the tabs in the database load fast. Whenever I use one of the newer betas (19 and 22) it takes forever for tabs to load and it makes my whole computer slow. Anyone know why this is?

Hi,
I was playing a couple of playmoney tournaments to setup/test FTS and the PT3 HUD. I noticed PT3 doesn't support playmoney, which of course makes sense, but I now have the tourneys in my stats, distorting them. Any way I can delete these tournaments?

Thx.

Can you get seat specific items displayed in the HUD? There are stats I only want displayed for the person to my immediate left (person in BB to my SB). And different stats I only want displayed for person to my immediate right (person in SB to my BB). So is there a way for PT3 to recognize who is to my immediate left or right at a table and display certain stats for those seats only? And if there is no auto-recognize can I at least manually add stats to the HUD for only a certain seat?
12-10-2008 , 03:25 AM
Any timetable for adding additional sites' support (ex. UB, Bodog, etc.)?

I know it's been said multiple times it's tough to state a timeframe for programming and I understand that. I'm not trying to sound demanding and PT3 has been working quite well for me. Just curious if there's any estimate about additional sites' support. Thanks.

That's odd and shouldn't be happening. Try running a full housekeeping in Beta 22 and see if that helps.

In Beta 22, Database --> Database Management, click on your database and click Purge, and then you can choose and purge specific sessions from your database.

Those features are not available at this time.

CEREUS support is next on the list and should hopefully be available before the new year. We hope to add more than just CEREUS before the new year, and then more site support in January according to the traffic numbers on PokerScout.com
