Also if you just updated Stars it's possible it forgot to run as administrator so please check to make sure Stars is set to run as Admin (otherwise it can't save the HHs properly). (Right click the Stars icon --> properties --> security --> run as administrator.)

I dont see a "security" option after properties.
09-02-2008 , 03:35 PM
If you're in Windows XP you should just be able to right click on the icon and check "Run as Administrator" then.

We appreciate your help and we are aware of this issue.
Observed hands are busted too, go get some HH instead of waiting for support tickets, IMO.

If you are on XP, there shouldn't be any need for any of this. And the stars update should not have stopped stars from writing HHs. If you are on XP, the HH got wrote, and moved to processed folder after the errors.

If I played on Stars, I would. Another support person has already done this and we have sent the hand histories to our development team and are awaiting the patch, which we expect to be out fairly quickly.

What does "fairly quickly mean"? minutes, hours, days?

We appreciate your assistance, but there seems to be some ambiguity in many responses..not just from you. Having a functional tracker is paramount to a full time poker players effectiveness. Its not my intention to come off as a jerk, but this situation is extremely frustrating when errors happen time and time again.

I guess this is the first real "test" of PT3's update speed / ease. We'll know after a fix is published, how long it is likely to take in the future.

sent a zip of my histories

kurisu,

Thanks we appreciate it.

Everyone else:

We will be releasing Beta 17 tonight which will resolve this issue. That's unfortunately as specific as I can be. If I had a more specific time, I would tell you guys.

Hello Kraada,
I opened a ticket because I had problems with B16, in two computers it lags when playing 24 tables, while B15 (installed again after the problem) works fine in that.
I did all optimizations and housekeeping and B16 was really unusable when 24 tabling.
I'm really afraid now that I must use the B17 I will have same problem.
Guys, anyone having same problem multitabling with B16 vs B15 ?

does it mean that PT3 cant be used at PS until Beta 17 is released?

This is why it is always a good idea to open the Stars program with PokerStars.exe rather than PokerStarsUpdate.exe. Every time Stars updates, and there is a problem, you can read about it instead of experiencing it.

Wrong. I bypass the stars updates, and my HM was broke until I downloaded the update Roy just released. The HH changes arent controlled by the poker client, like many other things. Their servers write the HHs one way, and it wont matter if we are using 2 different stars clients, they will both be written to our machines the new way.

We will get these issues fixed, please work with us in the support ticket as our development team is working hard to finish clearing up the last lingering HUD problems.

They changed their hand history format and so right now PT3 can't parse it (they removed two ()s and added a -), so yes you can't use PT3 at PokerStars until later tonight when we release Beta 17 which will resolve this issue.

Beta 17 Released

Note: This is mainly an emergency bug fix release for the PokerStars hand history import problem. However, it contains some other less tested bug fixes and features.

Added:
  • If the PostgreSQL service stops, PT3 attempts to restart it and reconnect
  • Hud: OnGame support
Fixed:
  • Import: Party hands with invalid dates will no longer import
  • SQL: Divide by zero errors
  • Stat: RFI (required adding new columns)
  • Stat: Without Blind. If you don't win anything in the blind it now shows $0 instead of N/A.
  • Filter: Call PF Raise. No longer includes 3 bet hands
  • Import: Bug where SB was marked as open limping when calling a raise from the BB
  • Reports: Simple filter wouldn't update when switching reports
  • Cache: Message notifying user of unpopulated cache
  • Cache: Column names starting with numbers
  • Import: PokerStars change to hand history format

We had a decision to make regarding this release. We could have either 1) released beta 17 as the same code base of beta 16 with the PokerStars fix, or 2) release beta 17 with all the latest features/fixes. We chose 2 in order to get more fixes out to you and a highly requested feature. If there are major problems that we can't fix immediately, we can rollback and go with option 1.

Please keep in mind that this version did not get quite as much testing as we would like. In fact, the OnGame Hud has had no testing other than by me, so expect a few bugs with it. If you use the RFI stat anywhere in your Hud, you should rebuild the cache of every database used by the Hud.

This version also has a few annoyances fixed, such as the problem with losing the database connection and the incorrect "this database does not contain a populated cache" message. I did not get to the remaining Hud bugs in Beta 16 yet, so please don't expect much in terms of improvement there. Like I said, this is an impromptu release and isn't as complete as I would have liked.

The fixes are pretty minor, so there shouldn't be any major problems introduced by this version that wasn't in the last. As always, please let us know of any problems you have.
