Please make unknown stats show as "-" or "n/a" instead of "0" in the HUD.

For example: If I don't have any "folded to 4bet" stats on a player, I want the HUD to say "-" and not "0".

What is the default postgres password that PT3 suggests?

It used to be possible in an older beta and some guy on your team said that they planned on putting it back it because it was taken out by mistake
The opportunities are shown in a tooltip if you mouse-over a stat.
They will be added as an option in the popups/HUD stats in the future, I don't think they were ever included in shown stats in PT3.

This is planned.

The next beta has been delayed. I've decided to add a cache for the Hud stats so that those of you with extremely large databases will not have to wait minutes before getting stats on your tables. This has unfortunately delayed the beta and has pushed the OnGame Hud support to the next release. I apologize for this delay, but the end result should be much better because of it."

Ah for **** sake!!

This might be a stupid question but how do you export 100 hands from a session in PT3?

Selective export is not yet available in PT3, but is high on our list of features to add. Please see the development timeline

well here's a weird update to my super super slow import problem.

while the PT3 beta were gong on, i'd have to export my db and reload it with new betas...
So I'd be using the files that PT3 made, which was fairly big (dont remember size or hand # offhand) and I'd import at around 10hands/sec if I was lucky.

Now I just tried importing some super old Party hands from like 2 years ago.
The files are 3k hands each txt file... And those would import at about 150h/sec

I also signed up for a datamining service for FT, and just imported about 18k hands that were divided into 650hand txt files. And those imported just as fst, sometimes importing at 300h/sec, but never lower then 150h/sec

but yet my own HH's I try to import (they are in 500hand txt files i beleive, or whatever the newest beta splits they up at when u export)
I get 5h/sec give or take...

I hope that all made sense...
and is this something I should be making a support ticket about?
and if so, what kind of info should I send with it?

There are some people who prefer PT2 still, but we are working hard to get the remaining kinks out of the system and then we are going to start adding new features rapidly, once we've got all of the features of PT2 -- and more -- hopefully you'll see the light . . .
I'm hoping to see the light as well, because the HUD is still flat out unreliable on my PC. I've opened tickets, downloaded special builds, clustered, vacuumed, all to no avail. It just doesn't work right.

I love the rest of PT3, and some of the features that you have planned will be nice, but the HUD problems are just a pain. Having worked in software development, I fully understand the technology product development life cycle, and I have been very patient. I'm not going to wait much longer, though, before I start to explore options for other HUD devices, or other trackers altogether.

Is PT3 going to release a Mac version? If so, any idea on when it would be released?

Thanks.

Please please make the HUD faster and less prone to crashing! I know you hear this a lot, but its a shame that the feature that i need the most is also the most unreliable.

There will be a mac version, but it won't be for a good while yet.
Several people have PT3 running on mac using wine/crossover/parallels, etc., though.

Yes, this is the priority issue, and the next release should have further improvements.
See the Development Timeline.

Quick question: How can I add different screennames as my "default" sn's on different sites, so that I can fetch overall statistics etc.?

Cheers +looking forward to the new release!
08-09-2008 , 07:21 AM
Use the alias section top right of the Texas Holdem / General tab.
Select the player you want as the main name, then click 'edit' and browse to your other name.
Make sure you stop importing first.

Ahhh great, thanks a lot!

Never really realised that window... Wanted to add several screennames through the "Settings" Section on the top right of the Texas Hold'em Tab, that didn't quite work

Cheers for the quick answer

There is a lot of discussion about how "bad" PT 3 is and how people are going to switch to HM. I would like to direct the discussion to all the good things PT3 offers. Maybe it will give all of the coders working on the project a little bit of a lift as they toil away the hours working on the project.

1. I like how on PS when you reload on a table all the HUD stats disappear for a little while. It makes me play old school poker and base my decisions on known past experience with the player or, if there is no past experience, on solid mathematical skills. It keeps me sharp.

2. I like how there is no All-In luck calculator as promised because, by not having it, it keeps me from tilting more than I already am by knowing I am running real bad in these situations.

3. I like how the "fold to three bet" stat is flawed re-enforcing my self image of being a complete nit. This is how I want to view myself.

4. I like how the PT website has a section for scheduled release dates and the dates for release are never met. Knowing that the dates are meaningless keeps me from perusing this particular part of the internet which makes my web browsing much more efficient.

Anyone else care to add to this?

Are you joking?
At #1 lol
At point #2...if it tilt you so bad, don't look at it...the feature is needed, and obv PT3 doesn't have it...like many other features
#3 I don't know if HM have it
#4 PT3 have scheduled release dates, but the last one was delayed. Anyway the release doesn't contain any great improvement to the product

Players starting to lose patiance, I'm first of them. Think about the players who have paid for PT3 and now can't have the refund, lol. The only great thing about PT3 is the forum. Whiterider is doing a very good job replying to all posts. That's nice.
I don't know if a database based program is so difficult to programming but it isn't a game, that require more work... 2 month for fixing the HUD problems is too long, imo.
The last thing...looking at the feature request forum (in PT3 forum obv), players ask for different features, many of them ask for the same one, and the answer is everytime the same: we will add this in the feature. I made a post about this because development timeline should consider players needs. Of course, in the development time line there are all the features that players don't ask for.
This is not my problem, I give up, I'm looking somewhere else, like many others have done. I like PT3, I like its HUD, I like its graphic but 2 months have passed and the HUD bugs aren't fixed yet.

HEM Graphs are editable, FWIW. I am assuming you dont like the 2 pixel green winnings line, neither did I. You can change the line thickness and colors, by editing the config file.
08-10-2008 , 09:51 AM
yo fozzy show me a graph that looks better edited

Not sure what you find so ugly about them, but this isnt the place for such discussion.

Dear PT3 developers,

**** you. I have defended you earlier in this thread, but this time you've really pissed me off. I have previously defended you on the grounds that people should test the trial version before buying. That doesn't apply here. I tried to open the version of PT3 I had on my laptop, I think it's beta 11 or something, which was working fine for me. I was greeted by the message that it was "expired" and that I had to download the new one. I downloaded and installed the latest beta and now my HUD won't work properly. Even though I have "Everyone but Hero" selected, it still loads my stats on a few random tables. This crushes the resources on my laptop and makes the game almost unplayable while it's retrieving them. This probably cost me several hundred dollars in tilt.

Here's the thing. I have paid for this product. It does not ****ing expire. I run whatever version I ****ing well please. Don't make me upgrade to the new "fixed" version if I don't want to. I am not your beta tester.

Seriously, how do you **** up the task of ensuring that the HUD doesn't display Hero when "Everyone but Hero" is selected? That should be impossible under any circumstance. And no, I will not send you logs. I AM NOT YOUR ****ING BETA TESTER.

Love and kisses
Chris
