I have two databases one for mined hands and the other for my play. Does anyone know if the hud picks up hands from both databases? Do i have to do anything to make it work?

I am using build 2 not the newest beta.

This is supposed to be fixed in beta 12, but some users have reported that it still doesn't work. It will be fixed, though. You configure which databases are being used on the HUD Options tab of the HUD/stats config window.

I have a problem with the hud. Im playin on stars and everything works fine and i do get stats if i turn off the use current blind level only option. But i really wanna use this but if i let it on i dont get any stats. And yes i have enough hands in the blind level that the hud should show it. Does this function just dont work yet or am i doing anything wrong?

What's the rationale behind having a seperate database for mined hands? Just curious.

I think somebody might have mentioned this before, but I think it would be very good for all concerned if the guys at PT had some sort of development blog. They could have a "current bug list", "coming soon list", and also use it to comment on say "this particular issue has been fixed today" or "we are working on this tomorrow" etc.

I think the result of spending a few minutes each day updating such a blog, would cut down massively on repeated bugs, repeated calls for when the new build will be out, and most importantly give all of us a clear idea (and hopefully confidence) that things are moving in the right direction.

At the moment I feel that the forum mods from PT forum (and here) simply are forced to tow the party line that things are getting done, but they don't know by when, and that if it is a serious problem to post a support ticket.

If people knew that a new build was to come out each weekend and have a good idea what was fixed, what wasn't, and what new features had been added, it would be a very positive step in my book. Again we have had beta 12, works ok for me, but still a few bugs here and there, but no clue when the next release is likely to come out (this weekend, next week, next weekend), and what will likely to different about.

I think if we look at HM at this point in the cycle it was equally buggy. However, Roy was very good at constantly updating everybody on what was going on and when to expect things fixed by. I think people are as upset about the lack of real updates, news on bug fixes / new features / ETA on new builds and they are about the actual product having problems.

1) Well straight off the bat, when you what to do filtering of your own play, the app doesn't have to wade through loads of observed data to find that. So the return on your queries to the DB regarding winnings, stats, graphs, etc should be much faster.

2) Datamined hands are only good for so long. After 6-7 month are people still playing the same way? Some yes, but a lot of people change completely or at least improve. So if you have a db with only observed data, it is easy to purge old data out of the db, without losing your own play.

Sure there is a whole host of other stuff, but 2 for starters.

May be a stupid question, but the hud can show stats from both DBs at the same time?

Yes it can. Go to configure HUD, get the pop-up dialog box with all the stat settings, then got to Hud Option tab and select all the DB you want to use.

Both of these issues were supposed to be fixed in beta 12, but some people have reported still having problems.

I'm done with PT3. Played a 5 hour session last night. Had this pop up every half hour, everything was frozen 'til I shut PT3 down.



And if I open a folder or webpage that covers some of the tables, I lose half the HUD stats on those tables.

I'm going back to PT2 and PAHUD.

I've been a real defender of the faith (the Pokertracker products) in general and have even defended PT3 but I have had a change of mind. I was out of country for over a month and installed PT3 on my laptop as I already had PT2 on two computers. It was my only means of tracking and HUD. It worked...kind of. I could play 9 tables and the stats would come and go but it was better than nothing but I figured it was more my laptop than anything as it is basically a brick with a keyboard and monitor. When I returned to the states I used PT2 but I was getting import errors. I upgraded to the latest version but still got them so I switched to PT3. PT3 is unusable on my relatively brand new computer. The first couple of tables loaded fine but after that I got no stats on any of them except for the first couple that had already loaded. I tried to stop the HUD so that I could open PT2 and PAHUD and use that but the HUD would not close. I had and right click on PT3 on the task bar and click close. It then gave an error message and I clicked close and it finally closed.

I am not posting this in order to get help or to point out problems as the PT group seems to know of the problems but can't seem to fix them. I am mearly pointing this out because I am no longer a defender of the PT product and will switch over to HM if improvements are not made in a very short time. I will not ask for my $90 back because that won't be worth the hassle.

I find it very ironic that it was said on the first BETA release that they didn't want to add any "extras" until they had a good solid foundation. The foundation seems to have crumbled and now it's just a crappy product in it's present form.

i cant seem to get the HUD working for tourneys on any sites (tried stars + ipoker). it works fine for cash games. what i mean is the hands are importing but there isnt any HUD overlaying the table at all. not even the PT3 symbol at top centre. doesnt seem to recognise the tourney tables. i think im running the latest non-beta version. any ideas? ill upgrade to the beta dated June2 and see if that helps (sorry if this is already covered in this thread....)

The HUD wasn't working on iPoker in Build 2, this is fixed in Beta 12. It should be working for Stars tournaments, though.

Anyone know why my stats just disappear on random tables? Like I'll have 9 tables up and everyone elses stats will still display, but mine will dissapear on like 2 or 3 tables and I can't get them back at all.

I have this same problem. Mine show up for the first 10 - 15 hands and then they disappear from all my tables.

Can I just downgrade to build 2 from beta 12?
or is that going to mess up my db ?

I really dont want to have to spend anonther 1-2 days reimporting just so I can do it again when the next build comes out...

so i just got the hud thing figured out and i play alotta mtts.... any advice on configuring it for the most valuable ways available... which stats might i be looking at in different situations... just looking for a jumpstart as a rookie in Pokertrackers systems..

Same here, but I'm pretty sure there doing something about it. In the meantime if you didn't already know you can use the reset button in the little PT icon box to get your stats to pop up again briefly.

So anyone else thoroughly disappointed by PT3?

I mean I think a lot of the features are well thought out but seriously:

-The lag is still awful despite various performance enhancement promises.
-The HUD is basically schizophrenic with stats appearing and reappearing all the time.
-Never had the crashes that some complained about till recently. Now I'm getting those too.

I've paid a lot of money for this product and it's pretty and all but it's turned out to be a huge pain in the azz.

Hopefully the next build will be worth the wait and get it right. I think we deserve that.

Are there files I can copy over to another computer to have the same HUD config? If so, what are they?

The file is Layouts.pt3 and it's in the C:\Program Files\PokerTracker 3\Data directory.

This should be fixed for Beta 12. Though some people have other issues come up in Beta 12, you can give it a try and see if it works for you.

Yes, just install Build 2 (WITHOUT PostgreSQL) right on top of your current installation of Beta 12 and things will work fine. There wasn't a change in the schema from Build 2 to Beta 12, just the way things import (there were some errors with things like the way turn continuation bet was calculated . . .). So hands you import in Build 2 may still have statistical errors, but otherwise things will work.
