Can I export the hands out of Build 2, and re-import them? Or is it necessary to reimport the original hand histories?

How do I share a database on two computers assuming they are connected with the same router? Do I just move the database to "My Network Places"? I'd like to be able to access the same database with PT3 on both my desktop and laptop.

Thanks

Put your desktop's IP in the laptop's database server configuration. Read this guide for details:

Am I missing a hud option to a) only use last # of hands, and b) only use hands from current game type (as in, display only HU stats for HU tables, and 6max stats for 6max tables)?

Is this going to be switched back at all?

System performance was better than beta 10 but still pretty slow, I wouldn't want to play like that (although I didn't wait for stats to load on all tables since after the ~5 tables they were coming pretty slowly).
Just to let you know, repeated this test just now on beta 12. Stats appeared on 1 table quickly, but it didn't take long before all my FTP tables froze and it seemed to actually shut itself down or something (the lobby wasn't responding so I clicked the "X" in the upper right to quit it, and instead of bringing up the "kill program" dialog that I'd usually expect the whole program just vanished instantly, whereas it would def have taken awhile for FTP to exit itself gracefully). PT3 was non-responsive at this point; task manager said it was using 50% of CPU, dunno what it was doing. Had to kill it. I have the log files if they'd be useful.

Just about to format my computer, does anyone know if I can save my HUD layout before I do?
06-04-2008 , 03:22 AM
just tried importing some random party hands..
out of 8643 hands there where 29 errors..

How do I go about submitting this error report?

Save the C:\Program Files\PokerTracker 3\Data\Layouts.pt3 to a safe place and put it back after re-installing.

I'll make sure this is looked into.

The PokerTracker.log file (in C:\Program Files\PokerTracker 3\) has all of the errors written to it, but it will get written over the next time you restart PokerTracker (assuming logging is enabled). The log folder also contains import logs, but there will be less information in those files. Nonetheless it will specify the file name it was importing from and if there was any errors.

You can export from B2 and re-import them. Build 2 just saves the hand histories directly in the database; there isn't any manipulation of these files that I'm aware of.

(a) This feature has been requested. The problem here is that if it is implemented it would make a cache impossible.

(b) Configure --> Configure HUD --> (Cash or Tournament) --> Hud Options tab and check "Use Stats from Current Cash Limit Only" or "Use Stats from Current Tournament Blind Level Only" as you desire.

Please create a support ticket on our support system and attach the log files. They will certainly be useful.

Go to our support system and make sure to attach the PokerTracker.log files and the 29 hands that had errors. If these files are larger than 6M you will need to zip them up; the support system only accepts a maximum attachment of 6M.

support site down?
06-04-2008 , 08:49 AM
Gah! I have a question and site is down...

Anyway... Since installing the release version, PT3 is not moving processed hands to the folder so everytime I start up it goes through a huge amount of hands and all import errors and duplicates makes it very slow. Since I have Swedish Vista settings, PT3 is installed under C:\Program\... and the path to "Processed files" is C:\Program Files\... and cannot be changed for some reason. Even if I choose a new folder, path still says C:\Program Files\.

My postgres process was using up a huge amount of CPU when using a 30 million hand datamined database, so I defragmented my HD and it seemed to move a hell of a lot of postgres type files. Now PT3 works with my huge database just as if it was using my smaller database. People should probably try this after a big import. My CPU usage was went from a constant 100% to 40 - 60%.

I began testing the HUD last night for the newest version and the PT icon on the tables does not save the position. I am playing on FTP and i move it to the left so it is not covering the avatar at the top. When i open up new tables it is back in the middle. The rest of my layout saves fine.

If you click the '...' button at the end of the box with directory path, you can change the path to wherever you'd like it. (I know it works, as I save things to E:\PT3Processed\ personally

Good catch! I'll make sure to recommend that to others. Thanks!

If you could please make sure that logging is enabled and attach the PokerTracker.log file and PokerTrackerHUD.log file to a support ticket it would be useful.

Of course, I've already tried that and it doesn't work for me... Maybe if I choose a different folder directly under C:? Can you confirm this is not a Vista related bug?
06-04-2008 , 11:33 AM
I haven't heard of it before and plenty of people are using it with Vista. Have you disabled UAC? You could try that and see if it helps: (Tutorial: Vista-How to Disable 'User Account Control' (UAC))

Also you should try a different folder on the C drive and see if it works for that. (I run Win 2k, and I don't have a Vista install handy to test it on myself.)

I'll try when I get back home... Thanks for your help! Also, I'll let you know what eventually solved the problem.

Is there anymore info about this?

If you have multiple stats in one group lined up vertically, separated by a 'new line', the gap between them is bigger than I want it to be, so I've had to create each stat in a separate group so I can move them closer together.

Even when doing this however, there is still a gap, filled in with your background colour for the group. I currently have the padding set to -1; any lower and the edges of the stats get cut off. Having separate 'horizontal padding' and 'vertical padding' options would be useful here, since you could reduce the blank space above and below a stat without cutting off the edges of it.

Obviously, the ideal solution for this problem would be to somehow reduce the gap between 2 stats that are separated by a new line. Then you wouldn't need to create a new group for each stat.

It's a good suggestion and I'll make sure it doesn't get lost. I can't say how soon it would get acted upon though.

I disagree...in fact, after I first heard Josh would implement a cache, I logged an enhancement request on the PT3 forums with a high-level outline of how I thought it could/should be done. I don't believe it was replied to, so I don't know where it stands, but I'm pretty sure it should work in theory.

I see PT finally approved a ton of custom stats. I am checking them out now.

I am currently re-importing all my datamined hands into a new database because I dl'd the latest beta. It is 3mill+ hands. Its been importing in manual mode for 3hrs 45mins and I only have 79,000 imported. It says 155:38:00 for time remaining on import. Why is it going so slow? This re-import stuff is a big pain in my ass. Can I make it go faster somehow?
