Will AP and UB support be in the next update? I'm looking forward to importing stats that show me to be a winning player.

Thanks for the reply. I don't really think this is the case. I play 28/24/4 and bluff, and valuebet quite a bit. Also, my W$WSF is 49, so I'm really confused as to why my won money without showdown would be negative.

No, there are no new sites supported yet. New sites will come after the HUD. The next beta is coming out today with the beta after that hopefully having the HUD. The beta after the HUD beta should have new sites. We'll be adding them in the order of size.

Perhaps you are bluffing too much and losing a lot when you get called down.

Ok, are we still looking at a new beta every 14 days then? I'm trying to figure out how long it will be before I get AP/UB support. Sounds like 6 weeks from what you are saying.
03-08-2008 , 03:22 PM
It's looking like 2 weeks per release is a pretty good estimate. The next beta is today, the following beta, about 2 weeks from today. The release after that will have new sites, but looking at http://pokerscout.com, the next three sites we'll add support for are iPoker, OnGame and Everest, with Boss and UB following. So yeah, about a month to 6 weeks for UB support, but Absolute support looks like it might be a while after that.

Ok, then maybe I'll start pulling in whatever sites pt3 supports into that and all the ones still only supported in pt2 into that and move them over as you add sites.

One more question. Will we ever have to create a new db because of a pt3 beta upgrade like we had to between I think b1 and b2? I'm asking becuase there was no way that I saw to export hands out of the old pt3 db into the new db. So if we had any new hh's in pt3 b1 there was really no way to move them to the new db. Make sense?

There are likely to be some database changes between now and the commercial release, but there has been an export feature added for the next beta.

ETA for HUD? Aiming for a May release? June?

Just a suggestion since I know a lot of people that only play on stars and tilt and are already using this as they would a final release. Maybe if you have to change the db structure include a one click "upgrade db" button so they wouldn't need to export, create a new db, and import.

I'm estimating two weeks from today for basic HUD functionality. More advanced functionality will be added gradually after that.

Automatic updating is planned for the commercial release and may be available in an upcoming beta, but right now it's not a priority.

Beta 6 Released

Added:
  • New filter system
  • Basic export functionality
  • Options: "My Day Starts At" and "Filter Player List"
Changed:
  • CTRL+A Select All for hand history text
Fixed:
  • Various stat definition issues
  • Issue with aliases and sessions being assigned the wrong site
  • Potential startup infinite loop
  • Some minor import accuracy issues

Obviously the biggest change in this beta is the new filter system. It is much more powerful and easy to use than the last version. The way you activate filters is a little different than last time, as it requires a few more steps. To activate a filter, open the filter dialog. Select/configure the filters you want to use, then click on the "Add Selected to Filters" button. This will transfer all the filters you selected to the list on the right. Once the filters are in the list, you can 'AND' them, or you can 'OR' them, or you can 'NOT' them using the appropriate buttons. Once everything is configured to your liking, click the "Apply" button and your filters will be applied to the tab. The filter list is not complete. I wanted to emphasis that. The list of filters you see is just the beginning. We will be adding more filters as we go, just as we will be adding more stats as we go. If you want a certain filter, make a request in our Feature Requests forum.

There are a few new options in the Settings for you to use. The "My Day Starts At" option allows you to logically organize your sessions. For example, if you regularly play from 10 pm - 2 am, your day shouldn't start at midnight, but rather, some time after 2 am. Setting it to, say, 7 am, will ensure that all your sessions do not span multiple days and cause problems and confusion with filters and the Winnings tab. The "Filter Player List" option lets you decide if whatever filter you are using is applied to the player list. Having this option set ensures that any player in list will have hands shown when you select them, but filtering this list can be slow if you have a large database.

If this beta doesn't have any major problems, the next beta should have the initial (rough) version of the HUD. Please do not be expecting a fully featured HUD. We're sticking with our "build a solid foundation" philosophy. The initial HUD release will be just the basics, and once that gets stabilized, we'll be adding more features quickly. This idea of building off a solid foundation has enabled us to add major features pretty quickly (custom stats/reports, completely overhauled filter system) and with few problems.

Need to create new DB or not?

Do you think the HUD will lag at FTP like PAHUD does? I personally don't get much lag (a little), but I know it's a problem for at least a few people.

Only if you were experiencing stat accuracy problems that were fixed.

I'm pretty sure lag will no longer be an issue.

I've downloaded v6. Now when I try to start the splash screen comes up showing versin 3 beta 6, etc but the the actual application has not appeared yet. It has been about 15 minutes. What do I need to do?
03-08-2008 , 06:26 PM
Open up the PokerTracker.log file and see if it shows an error message. Is this the first time you've tried PT3, or have previous betas worked for you?

Do we uninstall b5 before installing b6?

No it will update on it's own
03-08-2008 , 06:44 PM
There's no need to. Just download the installer and run it.
03-08-2008 , 08:58 PM
Still have alias problems w/ the new update. My sessions are mixed between names from FT and PP sites.
03-08-2008 , 10:25 PM
Did you start a new database and re-import your hands? This problem happens on import, so re-import is necessary to fix the problem.
03-09-2008 , 02:19 AM
in the new beta version my player summary just hangs endlessly on populating...

I only have 85,000 stars hands in there. I started a new db, restarted, etc.

Please attach the PokerTracker.log file to a support ticket on our site.

I tried to run a report for player name and $won>1,000 and I gave up after an hour.

My DB has about 150k players in it.

Should it take that long?
03-09-2008 , 10:37 AM
That depends on what section you were under. It you were under "Holdem Cash Sessions", then no, but if you were under "Holdem Cash Player Statistics", well then maybe.
