I am unable to connect tp my pt2 db. When i try to use the covert db option in pt3 it says no databases found. If it matters my pt2 db is access.

I imported 19.000 hands and afterwards it was clustering, which took a while.
With 1.000.000 hands it must take ages.

But I have my PT2 db in PT3, can't wait for final

access is not supported in pt3. you need to convert it to postgresql first. there are instruction earlier in this thread

edit: I guess when installing I entered the name as postgres when it was LESSU but now I can't add it since it says the error above

any ideas?
How did you install PostgreSQL?

PT is like the main argument to still keep this box running.
Mac version probably won't be available until Summer, at the earliest.

not sure what you mean. It's been installed for 6 months or so with the instructions from PT forum/site

you could run PT in parallels probably just fine, but also like others have said - theres no sense in going cross-platform while there are still bugs and extensive testing, get all the quirks worked out then it'll make the other compiles go smoother

Not if you only have PT3 running. Do you have PT2 or any other applications that might be using PostgreSQL at the same time?
01-25-2008 , 01:42 PM
No I dont have PT2 running and only program i ever used Presql it for was holdem manager and i havent used that in a couple days. What if i pause the import, end all the postgres.exe, then restart the import could that do anything?

Everytime I try to convert my PT2 DB, PT3 crashes ... Actually it crashes when it starts converting my Party hands. Any idea why that is ?

That will cause a fatal error in the import and it will stop. Since you have to restart the import anyway, you could try rebooting your computer.

This happened to me as well twice. Imported PokerStars ok then crashed at the start off Party hands.

This is the pop up:

I ended up just exporting all my hands from PT2 to a file then imported them to PT3 manually. Worked a treat.

Not yet. Still trying to figure that one out.

Okay, the conversion crash seems to be related to Party hands. Is anyone having this problem where it doesn't happen on the Party hands?

PT3 crashed on a FT Tourney here. Already opened a ticket at your support site (nr. 165) with the file attached.

Was this during the PT2 -> PT3 conversion?

No, I exported all the hands from my PT2 database and then imported them from a directory on my filesystem.

Changing the hdd it's not an option atm, since it's a laptop, I have 30+gb free on other partitions, just not on the windows one. How can I make it use that free space pls?
You will need to redefine the PostgreSQL table space to use another hard drive. I suggest reading through the PostgreSQL documentation on how to do this. Dave, may be able to give you some tips/hints.

Best regards,

Derek

Ok i finnally got my db conversion going but there are a few problems First it says i have played 0 hands at party and stars. This is not true as i use to play stars all the time and have played afew hands at party. Also it does convert my ftp hands but does not finish. I have around 30k hands in my db from ftp but the pts converter got to 8,777 and just quit. It did not crash or anything. But it just but i have been waiting 30+ minutes and it has not moved off 8'777 and the import speed is no zero hands per a sec.
01-25-2008 , 03:51 PM
It likely ran into a hand that caused a problem. The next release should solve most of these issues.
01-25-2008 , 03:53 PM
I think I'll wait for the stable release.. GL
