IT SCREWED UP AGAIN!

i give up ...

It would be great if PT3 didn't require Postgres installed locally to even start. I run my Postgres server on a separate networked machine, but it won't even let me configure it because Postgres isn't installed on my poker machine.

Also, opening in the CO is a steal no matter what happens behind you. This cannot change.

I agree 100%

This is not the case - I run mine on a remote linux host.

Are you downloading the "without postgres" version?

Wait... you may need to install the win32 ODBC driver for postgres - please try this (if it is the "without postges" version that is failing, otherwise try that first).

Is there a way to filter players for x # of hands played?

I downloaded the "without postgres" version. I already have the PGODBC driver installed on this machine from using it with PT2 and PAHUD.

Whenever I try to run PT3, it immediately gives me a splash screen with "Fatal Error - PokerTracker cannot operate without PostgreSQL."

Does it install OK then this when you start it? or this is during installation?

This shouldn't happen - please make a post on the pt3 forums to make sure Josh / AP10 see it - maybe they changed something postgres detection related for the beta I don't know about.

It is *certainly* not intentional to require postgres on localhost.

Yuck, duplicate hands really kill the import speed. I've been importing for the last 75 minutes and it's currently at 17h/s
01-24-2008 , 11:11 PM
i still at work
going home to download it now
question:
1. does PA hub work with PT3 for now? should i try it. or you guys already try it?
2. still use PTBB/100 or change to BB/100?

To be fair, they kill the *reported* import speed - but they do slow it down a tad.

import speed only includes new hands in PT3's estimate - but a duplicate takes a similar time to process at this time.

omg 320h/s i <3 u.

edit: ok. down to 220h/s; i still <3 u.
edit2: now 360h/s; i want your babies.
edit3: 350,000 hands in 13mins. what what? in the bum.

Apparently default Brightness/Contrast settings on my Gateway FPD2275Wmonitor aren't ideal for PT3 viewing. Who woulda thunk it.

My screenshot looks much better now, ldo.

Also, still not sure about my 48 hand (and tab) errors for this months data, but I will try and take a better look at it tomorrow when I am fresh.

*Edit

Where is the option to show profit as big blind per 100 hands instead of Big Bets?

Do we get all the stats (3bet %age etc) by converting a database for PT2 to PT3?
Or do we have to export the hands in .txt format from PT2 and import them into PT3 for that?
01-24-2008 , 11:40 PM
All the stats

The current "upgrade" procedure just pulls the HHF from PT2 DB and re-parses them for full stats. So it is the same (but probably faster) as expoert to txt -> import.

In the future there will be routine to convert with minimal stats for those who did not save the HH files.

are there eventually going to be more options to modify the database, such as:

purging specific hands/sessions
exporting hands/sessions
backing up from PT instead of havign to go into the PG Admin.

Also, I really think the Att to Steal stat needs to be fixed...there is a 12 % point difference after I imported my PT2 hands into PT3

_dave_,

I've been meaning to tell you this for a while; i love you.
01-24-2008 , 11:44 PM
One more thing...

On the sessions tab, when sorting by "Table - By Time"...if we play with a certain time frame across limits, how will PT3 display that? will it display 2 separate sessions (one for each limit played), or will it display as 1 session???

thanks, imported 250K hands into a new PT3 DB and no issues. Good job guys!

_dave_ for president imo

Is there a way to get a hold of AHK HUD without having to register at PT3 forum?

At this time no - but why would you rather not register? there is much information there, and you can report bugs / suggest improvements / additional features with a good chance of them being implemented!

Besides, I guess reporting bugs is kinda fair give and take when trialling a beta?
01-24-2008 , 11:50 PM
Sounds fair. I was just lazy.

Beat: 2p2 wont let me FYP 4 answers without this pointless text

Just had a friend try to use the direct converting method at ~6 h/s. He quit, exported his PT2 HH's to text, and then imported them manually to PT3 much faster. Unfortunately he received a lot of import errors for his sng HH's.

Why if you stop a session for literally 1 minute, and start a new session, does PT3 consider that separate session? 1 minute seems like a pretty small window to define a new session as having begun.
