Thanks. Pt3 has been out for a while, I'm surprised they haven't brought a new one out especially considering most top players seem to prefer hem.

Please note that this version will need to update your database. It may take a long time depending on the size of your databases and the speed of your computer. Plan your update accordingly.

The major changes in this release are for the tournament players. This beta release introduces PokerTracker 3's Smart Tournament Detection. What this feature does, in a nutshell, is that it will analyze your tournaments and automatically determine what kind of tournament it is, what the buy-in is and what your winnings are for the tournament. In addition to the automatic detection, we've also greatly expanded how tournaments are classified in PokerTracker. No longer are you restricted to a small number of descriptions for your tournaments. Any number of flags and descriptors are available and can be used to classify your tournaments in great detail.

Please read the release announcements on our forums to see a complete writeup on the new smart tournament detection.

While this is a very welcome change and a long time in coming, users that have been customizing their table types for tournament classification should be aware that once you update the software and upgrade your database your customized table types will vaporize and any tournaments you had classified with customized table types will be reclassified with PokerTracker's default table types.

I found this out the hard way.

i play limit holdem, plo and no limit holdem vs the same opponents sometimes. is there a possibility to display only the stats from the game type i am currently playing in the hud?
07-22-2010 , 02:13 PM
You can enable the 'stats from current limit only' option, but there isn't yet an option for all limits from the same game type (this request is on the list for consideration by the development team).

Do you play them all at the same time? (I.e. do you play one table of limit and one table of NL and one table of PLO?) Seems like it'd be a recipe for disaster, IMO. If you don't, I'd just parse your current DB into 3 seperate ones and make active whichever one is correct for the game you're playing that day/session. It's going to be a PITA to switch back and forth depending on how frequently you change games, but might be an option to consider.

unfortunately i play them at the same time sometimes, also i dont want to filter by limits. but thanks for the tips anyways.

i just updated and after a session i noted that the results fo the tourneys were wrong. a lot of tourneys had final position, so no results.
ive tried to upload them manually as always but i got this error:

2010/07/23 01:32:54: Warning: Truncated summary data (Line #13)
2010/07/23 01:32:54: - Tournament summary imported.
2010/07/23 01:32:54: Warning: Truncated summary data (Line #32)
2010/07/23 01:32:54: - Tournament summary imported.
2010/07/23 01:32:54: Warning: Truncated summary data (Line #51)

even checking the option to overwrite It didint fixed.
I play double or nothing.

now i have lots of wrong results and its really stressing to do it manually to such a bunch of tourneys(80 just today)

Please attach a few example hand history and summary files to a Support ticket so that we can investigate. It sounds like the summaries are incomplete - do they look OK to you?
07-23-2010 , 01:36 PM
i updated last night and went in to review my session today and there are no HHs
upon trying to play today i get this message:
PokerStars: Unable to import hand (#47161815114). Reason: Unable to execute query: COPY omaha_hand_player_statistics FROM S

That sounds like you might have downgraded to v3.06.2 after using 3.07.1? Maybe you were trying to install the latest beta 3.07.2?
You will need to update again as the database structure changed slightly.

If that is not the situation then try using the ReIndex option in Database > Housekeeping.

hey guys,

i am using HEM so far but getting a macbook tomorrow for the time im traveling. i read that pt3 is fully supporting the mac OS. i also was on the site to purchase the bundle HEM plus PLO but i couldnt find the download area for MAC. there seems to be 2 windows links only?
07-26-2010 , 05:01 AM
The PT3 Download page automatically shows the downloads for the OS you are currently using, but there is a link at the bottom to switch between Windows and Macs if you are currently on the other, or it isn't detected correctly.

I own a PT license but I don't use it anymore. Is it ok to sell the license?
07-26-2010 , 10:55 AM
No - PT3 licenses are non-transferable once used.

Hey all,

I'm having a problem with PT3. The hud isn't loading onto the screen when i play anymore, as it won't recognize new hand histories, it won't create new hand histories i guess.

I'm getting the following error:

Fatal Exception during Auto-Import process: Unable to execute query: INSERT INTO player VALUES (0, 0, '[Split Pot]', '[Split Pot]', 0, 0, 0, FALSE);; Reason: Fatal Error (ERROR:

When i click on Begin auto import, it just shows ALL the tables i have played today, but not any hands, and it won't store new hands.

then after the tables it shows the above error.

I already tried shutting down and restarting both PT3 and FTP, but that didn't work.

Anybody know what i should do to solve this problem?

That sounds like you might have downgraded from 3.07.1 to 3.06.2?
If that is the case you will need to upgrade again.

If not, try using the ReIndex option in Database > Housekeeping, and if that doesn't help either then report your problem so that we can see the full error message in your log files.

hey guys, if i could get some help i would greatly appreciate it. I have tried the support and forums for pt3 but i havn't gotten a reply and it has been 5 days.

Anyways, i am experiencing some major lag when i multitable (14+) and use pt3. I am positive it is pt3 causing the lag because i have tried multitableing without it and everything is smooth. I am wondering what i can do to help. I am told that my computer might be a little short on computer memory but i don't want to buy some if i am uncertain how helpfull it would be

some computer info for you guys. I have a HP pavilion m7750n, it has a 5000+ amd athlon 64 x2 dual core processor, 2048 mb memory, 400gb hard drive (246 gb are free), nvidia geforce6150 LE graphics.

I use mcafee, and it tells me my computer is clean.

Also, i have done the housekeeping on pt3 (except for reindex and rebuild cache).

What is your ticket number? I just went through the forums today and everything looked like it had a reply and every ticket should be replied to within 24 hours.
07-27-2010 , 05:52 PM
well, i did get a initial reply, but i had no idea what they were talking about, so i followed up with some emails. I got no reply to the emails is what i meant.

My name in the pt3 forums is oppugnae.

i don't know what a ticker number is, if you tell me where to find that, i would gladly give it to you
07-28-2010 , 09:42 AM
Go to your My Tickets page - the 5 digit number in Item is the ticket number. PM me your ticket number and I'll look into what's going on for you.

OK I am currently running v3.072.beta for Mac. I've noticed that my tournaments are grouping differently and it's making something of a mess - is there a way to fix this? For example, I want to look at my overall results in the $3-$12 90 mans on FTP. However, I think it's sorted them into a number of different categories - $6.00 N/A, $6.00 MTT, and now $6.00 10 Table SNG Bounty. I'm pretty sure these are all the same but not positive - any way to group all similar tournaments together? Thanks!
08-01-2010 , 08:56 PM
I've been having some trouble importing hands for the last 2 days. I consistantly get error message;

PokerStars: Unable to import hand (#47582834850). Reason: Unable to execute query: COPY holdem_hand_player_statistics FROM STDIN;; Reason: Fatal Error (ERROR: missing data for column "val_curr_conv"

I play on a mac if that would make any difference.

Any advice?

Please read the Tutorial: Tournament Auto Detection, which should answer your questions.
This is a new tutorial as the functionality was only added in the last release so if anything isn't clear please send me a PM (link in my profile - I posted the tutorial).

That sounds like you downgraded to v3.06.2 instead of updating to v3.07.2 Beta.
Please update and it should fix your issue.
