Is the functionality now exactly the same as it was in the beta versions?

I'm debating whether to purchase your new PT3 Omaha, or HEM Omaha.

Let me hear your sales pitch!

1. Functionality in the Mac version is basically the same as on PC.
Auto Import doesn't support all sites, but then not all sites have native Mac versions.
Currently you can auto import from: Cereus, Full Tilt, OnGame, Party and PokerStars. The HUD does not work at OnGame due to a bug in their software. You can Manual Import from the same sites that the PC version supports.
The HUD also doesn't work on FTP's Rush tables on the Mac version, due to the Mac's strong security.
Other than that I can't think of any differences.

2. 3Bet from the button isn't a built in stat but there are a set of "3bet stats by position" stats available for download from the "Get More" section.

There were no real changes from Beta 30.10 - you can see the full list of changes in the PT3 Build History / Release Notes.

You're right, reading the large e-mail does take longer than seems entirely reasonable, but we're talking a handful of minutes, not thirteen hours+. If this were the problem, you never would have heard from me.

The import reads the entire e-mail in the first few minutes then churns endlessly for hours on end. Thirteen hours is as long as I let it go.

Copying the text to a file and importing from the file works. Maybe.

I mean it finished processing in a reasonable amount of time. But I'm not entirely convinced that the results are correct, and PT3 still complains that I haven't imported tourney results.

Sorry - that's what I meant; I realise what I wrote wasn't entirely accurate. It is the processing of the large files which causes the delay. I understand that our development team are testing a potential fix for this but I don't know when it will be ready for release.

Fixed:

  • Import: Party tournament hero placement issue
  • Import: OnGame: New hands with rake taken lines

Again, I would like to ask the mods to please update the title of this thread to reflect the recent release.

I downloaded the 3.06 update, and now I only get the Pokertracker 3 logo showing up on my desktop when I want to run PT3. WTF?

Even if you have PT3's preferred seating configuration all matched up with your settings in the poker site's software, the HUD will still be incorrect when you first join the table. Events go roughly as follows:

1) You join the table. There is no HUD displayed because until a hand completes, the poker site's software won't record the hand to your hard-drive, and until PT3 reads a hand from the hard-drive, it doesn't know who the players at the table are.

2) A hand completes. The HUD elements pop up, but they're in the wrong spots. This is because the poker site doesn't record you as a player in the hand if you don't actually play in the hand. Since PT3 hasn't yet imported a hand from the table with you as a player, it doesn't know that the poker site's program is rotating the table display to put you in your preferred seat, so it can't rotate the HUD to match.

3) You play a hand. The HUD get's fixed up because PT3 imports a hand with you as a player and adjusts the HUD to match you preferred seat assignment.

I'm a Mac user, and have been using Poker CoPilot for the last year. Now That PT3 has been released for OSX, I'm leaning toward making the switch. I'm a little apprehensive after scanning this thread and seeing so many issues that seem to be highly technical. So some questions:

Do you recommend this product for non-technical types like me? I don't know what the heck PostgreSQL is. How useful is the software for those without a facility with databases?

Will PT3 import data from my CoPilot database?

How functional is the Omaha module on the Mac? Is it a simple matter to track customized starting hand ranges for hero and villains?

I love that there's a 60 day free trial. That is quite a demonstration of faith from the people making the product. Is the trial fully functional or are there functions that are only activated after the purchase has been made?

Mac users, are there any recommendations that you can make for a newbie preparing to use the software for the first time now that you have the benefit of hindsight?

TIA for any help.

Can you make the "BB Won" stat available in the Player Summary box on the General Tab? I can get it in the lower box, but I want it in the top box.

Thanks.

PT3 will set up postgres for you - you don't need to know anything about it.
The trial is fully functional except that you are restricted to one database and can't use custom stats or TableTracker.
PT3 cannot use database from other applications but will be able to import your original hand history files and any exported from other software as long as the format hasn't been changed.

To do this you will need to create a custom statistic in the Holdem Cash Sessions section. The column you need is already built in, so just add a Statistic to display the value of the column "amt_bb_won".

Yeah, I tried this, but customizing stats confuses the bejeebus out of me. Looking through the tutorial again, I think I just didn't fill out the Format tab completely enough. Is there some reason you can't make every stat available for every report?
04-16-2010 , 04:02 PM
The stats in different section are built in different ways - it just doesn't make sense to be able to display a stat showing information about an individual hand in a report showing overall results from multiple sessions, for instance.

it's been updating cache on database for over 6 hours now. WTF?

I can't seem to download the new software (3.6.2). What am I doing wrong?

Ok. Worked it out, it is a Mozilla Firefox problem. downloaded fine on IE.

I'm glad to hear you got it sorted, but it downloads fine in Firefox for me. What version do you have?

Please see the PT3 Backup Files.
Your layout is stored in:
C:\Program Files\pokertracker 3\data\layouts.pt3
You will probably want to copy your custom stats too, if you have any:
C:\Program Files\PokerTracker 3\Data\StatDefinitionsCustomized.pt3

What AV do you use?
If you update to their latest definitions this warning should go away.
As long as you downloaded the update from www.pokertracker.com then it is a false-positive and can be safely ignored.

Is there any way I can see how many times I flopped a set in PT3?
I've got the sessions I want filtered just need to find the report.

It's cool, I found it....
