Is it possible to filter out the stats in the HUD with effective stack on ring games? Like I'd like to to filter out villain's 3bet% to when he's facing people with 80+ BB.

It depends how much you know about the hand - you can filter to a specific date via the filters area which would narrow things down considerably. If you double click a session on the Sessions tab it filters to that session also. Alternately you can Mark Hands for Review during play.

Effective preflop stack is actually based on the whole table not how many people are left when it gets to you, but you could do this if you wanted. You'd want to do something similar to what I did in this post just using amt_p_effective_stack instead of the player's actual stack size.

my set up for hud is also gone. i clicked save the update and then ran it. my hud set up is gone, i think my data is gone as well. its also says cannot conntect to pktr database, i did not install a full version, just the update, i dont know what a log file is, this is what im saying, i dont have a degree in computer science. ill contact support.

That sounds like you have probably installed Build 5.2, which is a downgrade.
Update to Beta 30.8 (lower down the Download page) and I expect everything will come back.

white rider, i have a support ticket open and have sent them zip files. if that does not produce results i will try that suggestion. i suspect i will get the same instruction from that mode but want to follow the proceedure now that someones sunday is muddied.

i should say in fairness, allthough thoroughly aggravated by the techinical issues, i am impressed by the responsiveness of support. so, while there are issues, they at least they get addressed, all be it for me conistently after what i see as preventable problems occur.

I just purchased PT3 and I'm having trouble getting the HUD to work in tourneys. It works fine in ring games, but not tourneys. I play at FT. Any suggestions? I'm sure I'm the one doing SOMETHING wrong. Sorry.

this is exactly what i did, and downloading the right update fixed things and restored my hud paradigm. i am a tool for doing this, but again, i really dont see what the 5.2 build is doing right there where the standard updates normally appear. anyways.

I don't like reading either. Last week, I went to Target and bought a new desk and computer chair. I must have spent 5 hours trying to put that sh** together. Man, was it frustrating. Fixed my issue, and downloaded the newest beta, only problem is playing in the TurboTakedown on Stars yesterday the HUD wouldn't work, and it said "does not support play money" in the PT3 window. Anything I can do to get the HUD working for tournaments?

The HUD should work for tournaments; there's a known problem with Beta 30.8 and PokerStars FPP/Freeroll tournaments being detected as play money that will be fixed in the Beta 30.9 release which we are expecting to have out in the not too distant future.

Ya, while ive had issues in the past i have to admit this latest screw up was mostly my fault, not pokertrckers. also, support is responsive. so there it is.

with the new beta the hud is displaying %'s over 100 for W$SD... happening for anyone else?

We have had a few users report similar problems. We believe it has something to do with custom statistics during the incremental cache update, so we added extra logging in this release.

Please open your C:\Program Files (x86)\PokerTracker 3\Data\Config\PokerTracker.cfg file, and under the [General] section, add the following: LogCacheUpdateQueries=Y

After you do that, restart PT3. You'll need to go into Housekeeping and Rebuild Cache. Once that's done, your stats will be repaired. The next time you notice this happening, send us the PokerTracker.log file.

Okay, I have two students right now that have Mac's and are not technically savy. I am not a Mac guy, do you have a quick how to? on how to get PT3 up and running on Mac's?

PT site is down so can't go there, just attempted the monthly import of Microgaming databases (after upgrading to 30.9) and I am getting an error now, every line reads:

Access Violation (0) (Flags: 0; Address: 0x00671794; EIP: 0x00671794)

A big wtf? Anyone any clue?

I am unable to start my PT3. It says the site is unable to register my product, and asks if I would like to continue in trial mode. I have a registered copy, but apparently it need to access the PT website to check my registration every time I start it up.

Did that just start today too?

If you download, install and run Beta 30.9 it will set everything up for you, including PostgreSQL. The Setup Wizard will run when you first run PT3 and should configure the imports.
The configuration guides in the Documentation were written for Windows, but the same things apply - they will tell you how to configure the site software to save hand histories.
