Are you using the Mac version? Beta 30.6? Popups are known to not work in that version, but this will be fixed for the next release.

Other than than, you probably unlinked the popup group from the on-table group.
Please read the tutorial Linking an 'On Table' Group with a 'Popup' Group.

Please run full housekeeping to make sure your database is optimized and the cache is up to date - the caching mechanism was changed for 30.6 and it needs to be 100% to work efficiently.

If that doesn't help please report your problem before you re-install Beta 30.5.

OK so basically I played a short session on a friend's computer a few days ago, then thought I may as well add the hands to my database, emailed Party, and got sent them in 3 parts. 2 .rtf files, 1 .txt, although as far as I can tell the actual formatting is identical.

When I open PokerTracker, click on "Manual Import" in the Import tab, click on "Import from file", select the relevant file, and click OK, then NONE of the hands are successfully imported. Instead I just get lines and lines of error messages, looking like this:

What can I do to fix this? Is it even possible? Maybe there's some kind of program that can convert hand histories emailed from Party into a readable format. Or maybe I can do it myself with some Find/Replace function if it isn't too complicated.
02-16-2010 , 06:38 AM
You will need to save the files as plain ANSI text, but it looks as if the header line has been split across two lines, with a break in the middle of the date. You need to make sure each line is one a single line as in the original file/email.
02-16-2010 , 11:05 AM
I have saved them as a plain ANSI *.txt file - or at least I have saved 1 of them while I try to get it to work. Still can't seem to figure it out, it looks a lot to me like the way Party encodes their hand histories on their own servers or whatever is just incompatible with PokerTracker... The notation looks pretty weird.

I guess it might help if I included a sample hand, so here's one.
Code:

Anything that can be done to sort this out?

Also, something unrelated but kinda interesting which I didn't know before... it looks like the Party software shuffles the deck once prior to each hand rather than using a continuous shuffle. Makes no practical difference to anything whatsoever of course but kinda interesting IMO nonetheless.

Oh also, I experimentally deleted line 2 in the first 2 hands (the 21-xx-xx:TID:###### thing), and the error messages changed slightly, although still no hands were successfully imported:

...then it continues as before.

Dunno how helpful that is, if at all.
02-16-2010 , 12:34 PM
Does the file actually have "21-28-39:" at the start of every line?
That shouldn't be there!
02-16-2010 , 01:15 PM
Yeah it does, not sure why. Not just 21-28-39: either but different numbers - was gonna try to get rid of it with a Find/Replace in Word but I guess that won't work. Any ideas?

EDIT: OK, I actually did work out how to remove the ##-##-##: prefix at the beginning of every line. PokerTracker still isn't liking it.

Oh nevermind, finally worked it out!

For the future reference of anyone else trying to import weirdly formatted HHs emailed from Party, all that needs to be done is to open the file in Word, then use the Find/Replace function to find all instances of "^#^#-^#^#-^#^#:". leave the "Replace with:" field blank, and click "Replace All".

Then do the same thing again, this time replacing all instances of "TID:^#^#^#^#^#^#^#". Copy the entire result into Notepad and save as a .txt file.

Yeah ok i'll rewrite it. POSTGRES is a POS. It has given me like 5 different errors while trying to reinstall, almost broke my pc and has to restart about 11 times just to get it to try to install which it didnt. Such a bad piece of software its unbelievable im going to HEM at least they install the POS automatically.

PT3 should attempt to install PostgreSQL automatically for you in Beta 30.6. Were you trying to install that version of PT3?

Your a star, thank you worked and installed easily 10mb install > 30mb install. Sorry for sounding like a bit of a dick in my post but Iv'e used it before and its very frustrating.

One more question. HEM has two stats that I use BB Call (% of time someone calls/flats to a raise on their BB) and SB open (% of time someone open raises their SB). What are the equivalent stats in pokertracker. I Play HUSNGS so its very important to have stats by position bb/sb but cant see anything so far.

tyia and thanks again kraada.
02-17-2010 , 02:40 PM
We've all been there at one time or another don't worry about it.

For SB Open you can use Attempt to Steal and set it to the Blinds under the statistics properties section; the only time you can attempt to steal from the blinds is when you're in the SB and you open.

BB Call PFR isn't a default stat but it could be built; see the Tutorial: Using Custom Statistics and Reports for more on building custom statistics.
02-18-2010 , 10:26 AM
Errrrrm its pretty tldr; If im gonna buy a product I dont want to be doing this all day, I need to be playing. There are alottt of stats you are missing for solid HU players imo, no donk flop option but a turn and river one, why is that?

We promised when Omaha support was introduced that it would have its own trial period. This version introduces new trial period code. Basically, you can choose when you start your trial period. If you want to trial Holdem and Omaha simultaneously, you can. If you want to trial Omaha a year after you bought Holdem, you can do that too. We also decided to reset everyone's trial period with this release. You now get another 60 days of Holdem AND 60 days of Omaha, for free. That being said, since Omaha is still in beta, everyone (even trial users) will notice that they are registered to use Omaha!

We've fixed a lot of bugs with this release as well. Full Tilt Rush performance problems should be a thing of the past. The problems some of you were having with the new cache updating should be gone as well. Please be sure to let us know if you encounter any problems with these.

It's also worth noting that for a few days after release, some virus scanners will falsely identify PT3's executable (and maybe a few .pt3 files) as viruses. This is a false positive and should be reported to the anti-virus companies. There are no viruses in PT3 if you've downloaded it from our website.

There is Donk Flop.
02-20-2010 , 07:21 AM
Donk Flop isn't a built in stat (officially you can only donk bet into someone who made a continuation bet on the previous street, and there can't have been a continuation bet on a street before the flop) but you can download it from the Repository.

I previously had been using the 3.00 build 5.2 version of PT3 just fine. I have a Windows 7 machine with no anti-virus program.

I did not have PT3 or any other poker application open when i downloaded the Beta client (it should be noted that i had the Build 5.2 installed, then i clicked the download upgrade button next to it, installed that, then realized what i wanted to do was download/install the beta, so i did that). I have my windows firewall set so that PT3 has access to the internet.

When I open the program after upgrading the logo stays in the middle of my desktop indefinitely. The program doesn't open, and after a few minutes i have to force shut down the program. This used to happen on my Vista machine but i fixed it by running the program in administration mode (which doesn't fix the problem this time).

What should i try/how do i report this bug?
02-20-2010 , 02:40 PM
I think I just replied to a duplicate post of yours somewhere?
Please reboot your computer and re-run the Beta 30.7 installer.
If that doesn't help please report your problem.
02-20-2010 , 03:18 PM
Hello everyone. I got pokertracker probably 6 months ago and everything has worked perfectly until about a week ago i finally did the update to the newer version 3.00 beta 30.7 at the welcome screen. ever since i downloaded it now when i start to import it starts importing my past hands and then gives me this message:
access violation (1) (flags: 0; address: 0x76ef5a20)(line #1794)
Fatal Exception during auto-import process: access violation (0) (flags: 16; address: 0x76ef59c3)
then windows gives me a message saying that pockertracker has stopped working and a problem caused the program to stop working correctly. windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. The hud obv never attempts to start either if i have tables up. also, at the top of pokertracker it still says v3.00 beta 28.1 im sure i didnt install something right on the new update or did something wrong as i am not a computer whiz but cannot figure out how to fix this and really need my hud. thank you for your help and your time, hopefully someone can help me out. thx, john

I think when I let PT3 "process" my HHs it made them so my other HUD does not work. Anyone know how to get my HH back to the original form?
