Well the only game supported by PokerHands for Cake is hold'em, so I don't think it's a good candidate to be added to the tracker atm...

is there a way to change the popup details on the hud?
Not right now, I'm not sure how I should change this behavior but the hud definitely needs a way to customize the popup.

New release: PokerHands beta 10 (2009-05-10)

Changelog:

* New features
+ Hud for OnGame network! (both Hold'Em & Five Card Draw, tested with Hollywood Poker)
+ Starting Hands and position stats for Five Card Draw
* Changes
+ You can now disable minimize to tray to have the old behavior in the option menu.
* Bugfixes
+ Fixed: some OnGame hands not importing. OnGame sometimes refers to players not in the players'
list during a hand, causing an exception. Those hands will be ignored for now.
+ Fixed: some % stats in the hud showing as 0.xx instead of xx%
+ Fixed: Positions. You'll have to create a new db and reimport to fix the issues positions had.

The release only comes in full install flavor. I had started to create an updater but it may be instable so while the code for update is still in there, I decided not to release it. The way 5 card draw is handled is really different now.

As usual; please save your HH before installing and report anything wrong in this thread or at support@cartridgesoftware.com

Download:
http://www.cartridgesoftware.com/fil...hands_b100.exe (3.50mB)
___________
Here's an insight of the new features:

Starting/Final hands for Five Card Draw

Fixed positions (no more N/A); for Hold'Em and Five Card Draw

Note there are sensibly fewer hands for MP3: if a full ring table only has 8 players, the software drops the MP3 positions.

i've always used the upgrade version, as opposed to the full install - using the full install flavour, do i need to uninstall the old version prior to installing?

thanks

I would. It would have taken less time to just do so than to type that question and wait for it to be answered. But a curious question indeed.

You can install it over your old install, that won't cause any trouble as all the files will be overwritten.

If you want to save, say for example, your hud configuration; you can backup your old hud.xml and copy/paste your new theme in the new hud.xml. Beware that it can corrupt your hud.xml if you're not sure about what you're doing. Leave me a message with your old hud.xml if you want me to do it

hey tony,

as u mentioned in ur email, it does appear that stars import is no longer working properly... it seems that all the hands are being read correctly, but the stakes may have been obscured when the information is displayed.

cheers

the problem in my last post doesn't seem to happen any more... strange, but guess it's a good thg!

tony, thanks for updating my hud.xml file! works like a charm.

lastly, and sorry if this has been mentioned b4, though i dun think i've seen it anywhere, there seems to be a minor problem with showing hero's hands. i've entered my username in the options. when i click on "me" in the players list, the program displays only a small number of hands, however, when i click on my actual username from the list (or by searching) i get all my imported hands, minus the ones shown under "me".

haven't noticed anythg else out of the ordinary yet!

thanks

upon closer inspection, it appears that all the hands are in fact displayed when i click on my username, even the few that are shown under "me".

so i guess the only bug is just that clicking on "me" doesn't in fact display all of my hands!

ok... ignore everythg i wrote... well dun ignore it... but i seem to have found the source of the problem... i entered my username into the options b4 any hands were imported... and it appeared the program didn't actually realise that my username was in fact me cos the tracker didn't have any usernames in its db yet at the time!?

Hello TX86s,

Thanks for sharing all your findings. I think I know what went wrong. I was quite busy the last few days but I plan on releasing a fix anytime soon (read: when I return back home from work )

Hi there,

Do you plan on developing a date filter for the display of the graph / stats ?

(or maybe it already exists, in which case I'm blind, and ready to be enlightened )

How do you get the HUD to display Flop Cbet/Turn Cbet all there is is Continbet (%). I believe I change the format number, but you should really do documentation or making that more understandable.

I always get a crash when i press F1 (for the ? help) and then click the link to your website. That also needs a fix. Here is a dump:

Hey ArtPlay, there is currently no filter of any kind. That's something pretty big to add, I'm still unsure how to implement them.

Contibet is for flop, Turn/River CBets are named "2nd Barrel" and "3rd Barrel" in PokerHands. I've just realized you cannot select those stats in the hud configuration. Thanks for pointing this out.

Hum. I'm not sure about this one, it seems to work fine with iexplore or firefox. Basically it starts a process, so it behaves like you were hitting Windows key + R then type the url.

Btw, what game is broken at Stars? I downloaded a database of hold'em hands and everything went fine. If you could send some HH that'd help me

hey tony,

any chance you might be able to add the stats for rake and standard deviation (in big bets) to the summary page, specifically the 2-7 summary page?

thanks

Thank you.

Adding to suggestions

HUD: A possible way to make N/A stats have a different colored background. Currently they show up as transparent holes in my hud.

Pls add stats for rake. And on the summary page my PFR is to the left of the VPIP and this annoys me so I move it around, but it doesn't save that and reloads it to the left of the VPIP. It should save after each shutdown. Also, I would like to be able to make the top section taller as with my XP theme, it cuts off the text.

Included image so you know what i mean:

Rake is already there but not available in the summary page for some weird reasons. It's been bothering me too lately, I'll add it.

As for the standard deviation, what's the formula?
I think it's square root( sum ( (bbwon - average(bbwon))^2 ) / number of hands) but I need to verify this
I've graduated pretty recently yet maths seem so far away

NaN behaves this way because NaN doesn't match anything in the color range coding. You're right a default color for NaN should be added.

For your column ordering problem, click on the button showing columns on the right of the grid, and reorder them from here. That's not really userfriendly but it should do the trick.

Column names being cropped with custom themes is a pretty old issue. I'm such a lazy ass for not fixing it

You should rename the Filter Hands mouse over to Summary Columns or something similiar, here is where I found the issue. The default color for NaN should be selectable and I don't know why the custom theme would break it like that but it does. Another area where you could add some features in the graphs. I like how simple and easy the program is but graphing features are useful for overall play review.

hi guys

i'm afraid i might be an idiot. i have no other tracking software so downloaded the PostgresSQL file from the enterprisedb website. I provided a username and password. However, i still can't create a new database as my connection is always unsuccessful to the postgresql. obviously when i try test connection, i've used everything as a password - dbass, postgres, nothing, my pstars username, the password i gave postgres when i installed. i've even tried different usernames. i also tried running in admin to see if that helped but no.

I think the fault probably lies with me - any advice appreciated

thanks

This is probably another stupid question, but I'm really lost. I'm trying to install postgreSQL and when I get to the installation wizard, it tells me "please select a directory under which to store your data" and the option that is placed in the box is C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\8.3\data. When I click to accept this, an error box comes up saying "the existing data directory (data/time setting: floating-point numbers) is not compatible with the server (data/time setting: 64-bit integers).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Get rid of the version of postgersql you have on your system at the moment.

Download and install pt3 and this will do all the hard work for you with regard to getting postgresql set up for pokerhands. Just follow the instructions on the pt website.

Then install pokerhands. All going well it should be easy to get up and running

You must *fully* remove PostgreSQL if you want to install it again. If you just use the add/remove programs you may have issues when reinstalling it. An uninstall tool such as Revo Uninstaller may do a better job of removing it, and save you from having to manually delete the postgres user, but I would personally use the command line code to be sure before I spend the time trying to reinstall.

- Uninstall from control panel.
- manually delete the Program Files\Postgresql folders
- run the command "net user postgres /delete"
- reboot.
- install again, as admin, with UAC off.

Ok, since there are a lot of questions regarding the pgsql install, this is a step by step how to:
(if you want to delete a previous pgsql install, see fozzy's post above)

So you're here:

Then here goes the tricky step:

It says it's going to create a user "postgres". Type whatever password you want. postgrespass or dbpass are pretty common.

Then hit next/next/next till the install is over.

Now start PokerHands and use the following setting:
Server: 127.0.0.1
User: postgres
Password: the password you chose previously
Port: 5432

And that's it, it's not more complicated than that
