This is a FREE (freeware) program I created named: Poker Optimizer.

I have been teaching myself Python 2.7 programming in preperation for returning to college and working towards a Computer Science degree. I wanted to work on my own program because that is one of the best ways to learn the skill. I had an idea for a poker program and here it is!

It is a very simple program. It consists of one window with a bunch of buttons and a couple small text boxes for output (and some optional input). It also comes with a Setup program that is entirely text based (opens a console window) used to create or modify your settings.




An example of this would be:

Part of your strategy is betting top pair good kicker on the flop against 1 opponent MOST of the time. You don't do it all of the time because that would be highly exploitable. Let's say you bet in this situation 70% of the time on a dry(un-coordinated) flop. The problem is, the more tables you play and the more time that passes by, the harder it is to mentally keep track of exactly how often your betting top pair good kicker every time the situation comes up. That is where my program comes in. You tell it you want to bet top pair on a dry flop 70% of the time and when the proper situation arises, you simply click the button and it will tell you to BET/RAISE exactly 70% of the time or CHECK/CALL exactly 30% of the time.


To use Poker Optimizer, all you have to do is:

1) Download and unzip.

2) Decide what your settings will be for each button. I recommend using the 'my settings-default.txt' file to go through each one. You can then use this as a reference for next step.

3) Run Setup.exe and save all of your settings. The first time you do this your settings will be saved to 'user_settings.dat' which will be your default settings, loaded every time you open Poker Optimizer.

4) Run Poker Optimzer.exe
