Hey,

The beta testing went well and i wouldn't have released it if there were a lot of problems. I have 3 PCs here alone that run fine without any issues whatsoever and i know others are running it fine without any issues, unfortunately different configurations can cause different issues, theres not a product in the whole of the software forum that doesn't have bugs and many of them are specific to a minority of people. If you would be willing to let me have a look with a couple of teamviewer sessions i would be happy to provide you with a license for your time. I'm also in the process of adding logging so its easier to track bugs without having to teamviewer someone.

I do agree that the general appearance needs a makeover, one of the programmers who worked on this hadn't English as hes first language and i didn't get around to re-wording and tidying up the appearance instead i was concentrating on new features, i have already began work on this and this will be all cleaned up in the next 2 weeks, there will be a lot of improvements in the next 2 weeks so what i will do is clear all the trials with the next release so you've another 2 weeks trial on top of that and by that stage i will have it brought up to a much higher level. Again if you allow me to work with you we can figure out what your issues for the next 2 updates as there weren't many XP testers.

I do accept i may have released it prematurely without tidying up the appearance but i suspect your issues may be more to do with permission/firewall issues and in general its quite stable. Please keep the feedback coming its very much appreciated.

Thanks. Can do teamviewer session, although I don't really know how that works - sometime after 6pm est tonight?

I have the windows firewall turned off, and TD is excepted in my AVG firewall.

Thanks for the fast replies - and I can't wait to be up and running. TD will be a great addition to the grinder's software tool box.

Yeah its Just gone 1pm EST time isnt it, ill be around from 6pm EST for a couple of hours so just email info@tiltdemon.com and let me know a specific time

Just download teamviewer from www.teamviewer.com in advance. Teamviewer allows me to access your computer to fix the problem.

When we agree a suitable time you just need to send me the ID and password that Teamviewer creates to let me access your PC. The 1st teamviewer session ill just have a look at the problem then ill try and put some logging in a test version to see whats causing the issues, once we know this we can get it fixed.

Thanks
Morny

Hey there... I just got a new setup and installing all my crap again - Whats the best postgresql version to install for tiltdemon/hem... can i go with the newest 8.4?

Cheers

Hi,

We support both 8.3 and 8.4 now so it doesnt really matter, just if your using Vista Win7 and have UAC on dont tick "run as admin" for any of the exes in the tilt demon folder and it should be fine

Tilt Demon v1.2 is now released and can be downloaded here:
http://www.tiltdemon.com/trial.html

New Features:
  • [Feature] Trailing Loss (Peak Loss) i.e you set your peak to -200, after a while your up 500, you lose 220 in a pot leaving you +280, So we take your peak of 500 - 280 = 220 and your loss kicks in even though your still up 280 as youve lost 220 from your peak
  • [Bug] fixed the install problem at "Service for Postgres 8.x Server is runnung." where it couldnt detect PostgreSQL for some people
  • [Feature] Started the facelift and cleanup of tiltdemon but still some work to do
  • [Feature] Added a tiltdemon icon to the taskbar when tiltdemon is running
  • [Feature] Add and option to switch to an alarm notification rather than a complete lockout, Note this was giving us some trouble so this was a bit rushed, so for now Ive just introduced a basic visual alarm and the next version will have a proper alarm.

Recent Features and bug list
[Bug] PowerBuilder Application Execution Error (R0020). Application terminated. Error: Database command has not been successfully prepared error fixed
[Bug] PostgreSQL 8.4 Support

-------------------------------------------------------------
Recap for anyone new:

What Does Tilt Demon Do
Tilt Demon is a silent program that works in the background tracking your winnings and losses through your Holdem Manager Database and allows you to set limits such as amount lost, amount won, bb’s lost or won, time played and hands played and also a trailing loss where it calculates your loss from the highest point in a session.

When you have exceeded one of those limits then Tilt Demon will alert you to this and give you a specified amount of time to close down your poker client. If you fail to do so it will then shut your poker client down automatically and block any subsequent attempts to open it. It allows you to set the lock out time which may be short or long depending on your tendencies to overcome tilt.

The philosophy behind it is when someone is tilting they are not in control of their emotions and so Tilt Demon takes control for them and makes a decision to stop playing, a decision you already made before hand when you set the stop loss limit but in your current state of mind you’re incapable of enforcing. We support all sites that Holdem Manager currently support.

You can set Tilt Demon to lock you out when you exceed any of the following
  • $ Won
  • $ Lost
  • bb's Won
  • bb's Lost
  • Peak Lost
  • Peak Won
  • Hands Played
  • Time Played

You can set it to Lock you out completely for a set amount of time or you can set it to run an alarm

heres some screenshots of the improved interface although its still work in progress and ive extended the trial for 2 more weeks until its completed along with some outstanding bugs:

Weird, are you sure youve installed the correct version, that error seems to refer to a different version, have you downloaded 1.2? Just be sure uninstall and reinstall it again and see if it happens.

There reason its looping is because it creashes so i have a system where it checks if Tilt Demon crashes and attempts to relaunch it, so when it crashes it relaunches Tilt Demon and so it runs the trial check. Once we solve the crashing problem it should be fine

If it continues to crash please let me know what Operating System you have and also if this is the first time you experienced it?

I finally got it installed, but when i add poker clients, my path to the UB .exe file keeps dissapearing. So everytime I open it I have to browse to the path, am I doing something wrong, my Absolute Poker path says fine, just the UB.

Also after I closed it last it keeps trying to open back up, and i hit exit, and it just starts over.

Finally, is there a way to do a time limit, but not be shut down if i am in the middle of a sit 'n go when my time expires?

/sigh. I still can't get this to work. The install process fails with an error dialog "Error: Database command has not been successfully prepared".

Like I said in my previous posts I want to be able to enter my database details manually in the configuration because my postgres database is hosted on a different server. This should be pretty basic and easy to implement.

Yeah it worked fine for me on Xp, then tested Vista, it failed the first time, second time and subsequent times it worked fine, then i tested on another Vista and i could reproduce the problem where it kept failing so im working on it now

This was already implemented in 1.2 where you can configure your server ip as soon as we get the other bug fixed youll be able to do that
