Also, I was running the trial version and wasn't sure it was running, ie there was no icon in the tray, no way of knowing whether it was up and running, doing its job. Hopefully an icon can be minimized into the tray.

Ideal to hover the mouse over said icon and see a small status bar popup with amount won or lost so far, hands played so far, time elapsed in the session, etc..

Thanks

Yeah i like the icon idea, ill try and squeez that in for the next version

Yes, this happens to me with the 8.4.

Hi,

Did the new update to 1.1a fix it?
03-07-2010 , 12:44 PM
1.1a fixed it. Thanks

Up and running, I think - ? - I can't tell if TildDemon is actually running, there is no icon in the tray. I get a 'Tilt demon is starting' pop-up, then, TiltDemon disappears, and I have no idea if it is running.

Also, to start it up, do I always have to click on 'setup,' even if I have already set it up and saved the settings? Why no 'start tilt demon' exe shortcut? That is confusing.

Thanks
03-07-2010 , 12:59 PM
Yeah well be adding an icon soon. Theres no need to do anything else, once you see the "starting tiltdemon" its running in the background, the idea is its never off, if there was a Start or Stop button you could easily bypass it when you got locked out so it automatically runs when you turn your PC on and stays on.

To double check it is working just set a small stop loss, like played 3 hands or something. Don't do it before you play obviously as it will lock you out for an hour.

OK Thanks.

Do I have to hit "Setup" to start it each time?
03-07-2010 , 01:10 PM
Hi,

Do you mean settings?

The only time you click the tiltdemonsetup.exe is when your installing it and after that you don't need to click that again. I'm not really sure if thats what you mean because there is no Setup button other than that which i'm aware of.

Basically its on once you start your computer and it never turns off, the idea is it runs silently in the background although i agree it can be confusing without no icon to be sure if its running so well add that.

If you click settings it will continue to run, when you press save and close the settings window it will restart with the new settings but at no time is it off as such.

Yea 'Tilt Demon Settings" the thing with a rabbit or bird icon or something.

1. So are you saying that once this is installed on my PC, every time I start my PC, tilt demon will be running in the background without me having to start TiltDemon up?

2. Is 'Cap time' the 'lock-out' time?
03-07-2010 , 01:37 PM
1) Yes, that is correct
2) Its supposed to be a demon lol, Yeah cap time is lockout time, one of the programmers i had working on this wasn't a native English speaker so some of those terms got lost in translation. I'll do a face lift in the next 2 updates to make everything clearer and tidy things up.
03-07-2010 , 01:50 PM
Thanks.

When I open the "tiltdemonlosswon' it says 'time on computer not initialized' or something... whats that?
03-07-2010 , 02:04 PM
You would probably get that if you open it before playing a few hands, its really only a debugging tool, if you open it before you've imported some hands for a current session its going to give errors, just restart it after you've played and imported a few hands, if you've still got issues i can login via teamviewer if you like just email info@tiltdemon.com
03-07-2010 , 03:54 PM
Have set the hands to "15" to test the lock out function. It is letting me play past 15, I'm at 22 right now.

The "tiltdemonlosswon" de-bugger says:
"ALERT! ALERT! ALERT!
Tilt demon has detected that your Current Hands Played within session has totaled Hands Played Settins 15"

But I'm still playing. Whats up?
Thanks

Strange, might just need to add tiltdemon to the exceptions of the firewall and grant it permission to run as an admin. Have you UAC on? What firewall are you using? You can email me if you like and i can login or i can give you instructions of what to do if you tell me what firewall your using

Well, I shut everything down and re-booted PC. TD started up fine. Then I fired up HM, then FTP... Then I got the TD lock out message that I was locked out. So it seems to be working.

I'll wait a hour and try again (I had my lock out time on 1 hour) and see if it shuts me down DURING PLAY once I hit 15 hands....

Still not working. I can just keep playing past 15 hands, it does not shut FTP Client down. Now, even if I shut down FTP, I can just re-open it, even thought I'm supposed to be locked out.

"UAC" no idea what that is.

Hi,

Do you want me to do a Teamviewer session, then i can see what values it is passing to the database and verify its the values that are incorrect or possibly a firewall/UAC blocking the exe from launching to start the countdown and lockout although if the win loss app is correctly giving the alert it sounds like a UAC firewall issue so i can add exceptions and see if that helps, UAC is a feature with Vista and Windows 7 but you dont have to worry about it if youve XP

If you want to try yourself in the meantime see this Link http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...roduct=3855978 it gives instructions on how to add programs to the exceptions list for AVG firewall (although its a little basic) and also gives your instructions for windows firewall, if your using that add exceptions there too

Theres quite a few exes in the Tilt Demon folder so try adding them all, ill try and make a more automated way of doing this in the future since its a bit of a pain. Once youve added those exes from the tiltdemon folder please reboot your PC and try again.

If you have Vista or Windows 7 ill give you instructions for what to do with that.

Put in exception for TD in AVG. BUT

This is getting ugly, can't log into FTP, even though lock out time was only 10 minutes(changed it from 1hour), even if I wait like 1/2 hour, still can't get on.

In addition to the lock out for 15 hands notice I got this:

"TD has detected a violation of cerfew by HM poker clients"

Anyway to remove TD completely and start over?

(TD says in 'poker lock out time remaining' that I'm 'not presently locked out'

Hi, completely uninstall Tilt Demon if you need to get back in a hurry, then just reinstall when you want to test it again but this time put a higher amount in the stop loss so it dosent lock you out.

The curfew message is enacted when you try to reopen Tilt Demon after youve exceeded your stop loss. By default a session is where there was no gap between 2 hands for 60 minutes so it will take 60 mins for that session to clear. There does seem to be some issues as it should run a lot smoother than this but i can login to help you if you need it. Once we fix the issue it should be fine although since the curfew is now popping up it might already be fixed once you reinstall it.

We will be adding an option to define a session length to smaller than 60 mins but it will be in a later version.

OK Thanks. I'll just wait 60 minutes and test it out then.

Still doesn't work. Set hands played to 15, and it does not shut down the client after 15 hands, I just keep playing.

Also, when I try to shut down my PC, TD crashes - I get a 'not responding' pop-up.

Can not remove the program in add/remove tool, because program is running and it won't delete - I get messages saying blah-blah exe can't be deleted because it is being used or is writ protected ....

I have XP.

[Disappointing morny - I think you released this thing too soon without enough beta testing, it seems to me its very buggy and unstable. Also, the manual, the set-up boxes, the error messages, etc read as if they were originally written in Japanese or something and then translated by google translate to English.]
