Your error seems slightly different to the other error (Ive managed to reproduce the other error on a couple of PCs but not yours yet), its referring to a problem with the username, if you go C:/Program Files/RVGSoftware/HoldemManager/Config folder and open that file with notepad it will show your username and password for postgreSQL on the first couple of lines

Take note of this

Now run Holdem Manager, go to Options > database Management and then it should bring up the connection screen with 127.0.0.1 and port 5432 etc also there it should show your username and password, does your username and password from the config file match with the database control panel?

Hey Morny, maybe a stupid question but was the above directed to me (and others with the same problem)?

Thx for your responses

No Just for high pockets, i should have the new version to test for you and the others within the next hour
03-24-2010 , 11:40 PM
This version is for anyone with the error Mr.Tight was getting

In this version it doesnt allow you to change the stop/loss if the amount youve lost exceeds 30% of the total stop loss and also added the option to select an alarm to sound when the lockout kicks in.

Again this was a rushed release to try and get this installer fixed and may have some bugs so i suggest only testing it if you have that error. The only bug i noticed was the icons were blank but well get that sorted in the next build when people confirm if this solves the installer problem

www.tiltdemon.com/tiltdemonsetupBeta.zip

Please let me know if it works or not whenever you get a chance

Its quite late here so ill check back in the morning for any comments

link seems down?
03-25-2010 , 01:59 PM
Just making 1 small addition, should be back up in 5-10 mins
03-25-2010 , 02:25 PM
Should be active again
03-26-2010 , 09:48 AM
install is working now ... but when the program is about to start I get a error message:

sqlcode=-1
sqlerrtext=
sqlstat = IM002
[microsoft][odbc driver manager]"german error message (translation: the name of the data source was not found and there is no standard driver defined)"

timestamp=2010-03-26 14:44:43

tiltdemon will now exit
03-26-2010 , 11:27 AM
Does it happen during or after you see the screen "Tilt Demon Starting" or is it after it successfully starts, can you try uninstalling and reinstalling again please and see if it still does the same

I checked the HEM config file and the username and password match those in the db control panel. But of course they would, if they didn't HEM wouldn't be able to connect to the database and HEM can connect to it just fine.

BTW, the server parameter isn't 127.0.0.1, it's SERVER=192.168.1.2 - as I said previously my database is installed on a different machine on my network.

Have you considered reevaluating your install workflow? It seems to me that your installer is way more complex than it needs to be. An installer should just install the program. It shouldn't need to check if postgres is running, or setup the database connection, or any of that stuff. It should just install the program and users can setup their database connection parameters when they run the program.
03-26-2010 , 02:50 PM
Yeah that would explain why there is an issue with username or password, unfortunately part of the installation includes connecting to the database to make inserts so it must be able to connect during the installation. I added the option to change the IP from 127.0.0.1 in the settings but obviously ill need to do it at some point during the installer. Since the config file shows the server you use eg;then its an easy fix i just hadnt considered people using non localhost addresses previous to this

<setting name="ConnectionString">SERVER=127.0.0.1;PORT=5432 ;UID=postgres;PWD=postgrespass</setting>

99% of people wont have this issue but since its a simple fix im happy to accommodate so ill add that in the next version and you shouldnt have any issues then.

i just got locked out in my first session today after losing 2 buyins, i have TD set to 4buyins from peak?
03-29-2010 , 02:24 PM
Hi Aggr,

Just to confirm you understand peak, if you were playing say $100nl and set it to -$400, and you were up $200 after a while, then its taken from the peak of +$200 so if you end up down -$200 then thats +$200 - (-$200) = $400 and 4 buyins

You probably knew that but i just want to confirm. Other things, Tilt Demon doesnt have multicurrency support yet, we will be adding it soon but just making sure thats not affecting the calculation.

Last thing is to confirm you have the latest version from around the 25th?

Im currently working on adding a logging option, so in this scenario well be able to see a log of what the stop loss was set to, how much it estimated the current loss at each hand etc so if there is a problem it should be quite easy to troubleshoot it by looking at the log
03-29-2010 , 06:37 PM
No i havent downloaded the latest version... i thought that was for the people experiencing problems - i take it i can download it then?

My peak was 0, i pretty much lost 2 buyins within 5 mins and got locked out. Could it have taken into account last nights session? I was down over 4 buyins from my peak last night, but all them hands were imported last night

cheers

That last version was working fine, the only issue was the icon was disappearing for some people so try that version and see if there is any issue, you can test it on micro tables by setting it to a small amount and choosing the alarm feature rather than the lockout just to make sure. If there is an issue once i get this new logging version out will be able to fix it pretty quickly
03-30-2010 , 01:02 PM
god i wished this software would be made by some team of developers => faster => more reliable. For a properly working program with certain amount of features i would pay much more than i payed for HM Table Ninja and Leakbuster altogether...
03-30-2010 , 01:34 PM
so i did what manual said, and it doesnt stop me from playing.
debugger window olnly shows PC running time has not been initialized.. it seems like it doesnt track my session at all...
i use XP btw.

If you want to contact me info@tiltdemon.com we can do a teamviewer session to troubleshoot or wait for the logging version which will be out soon and that should tell us whats wrong

Yes I find TD has problems with prior sessions getting mixed in with your current session somehow, even if prior session was like 12 hours ago

Yea I got XP as well and de-bugger just plain does not work anymore.

Im replacing the debug tool with a log that holds all the information, the debug tool isnt really for use, its only for debugging when youve issues but i think the text logging will be more reliable and easier to diagnose issues. So in the above example where you say it didnt turn on at the correct amount then ill be able to review the log and see what the loss was set at and also what tilt demon thought the loss was at after the problem happens. With the debug tool i can only see whats happening at the time plus several people have had issues with it too but its not needed at all for the program to function.

It should be noted that tiltdemon tracks the hand by the time it was imported so if you played last night and imported the hands today then it will assume all those hands were played at the time they imported. This means HM doesn't need multi timezone support.

Anyway if there is an issue where its calculating old stats then we should be able to pick it up quickly with the new log version and well get it fixed

i just wish you would hurry with that, cause i really need this programm to stop me from playing when im stuck and it doesnt right now somewhy... As soon as it will, im shipping you $ for that software really quickly

I believe that this software is not very serious and professional. Are a couple of months trying to get it working and not working.
They ask you 30 dollars and then I have not found someone to whom the Software functions.
When software is still being tested and not working well, should be free.
Then also the site that is not done very well and care leaves much to be desired.
I realize after two months of losing unnecessary time.
