one question: can i somehow get a list of players, which new added to a color after a color coding process?

There isn't any way right now without having it installed. Anyhow, due to black friday fallout, NC is going to be discontinued pretty soon for new users so it's kind of a moot point.

This isn't something NC was designed to do. HEM has an export/import notes function so too much attention was never paid in that respect. I am not as familiar with all the features of pt3 but I imagine they have some way to backup data.

You can do a color seek for that. Just shift+select all the color definitions and then right click and choose "seek stars/ftp players" and it will give you a full list of each categorization

I don't understand. Do you stop the development of the program? If not, whats the point of discontinue selling it for new users?

yes. There would only be bug fixes for existing users

OMG, this is horrible. Really heartbreaking. I'm sorry to hear this, Sreiti. I figured there be a lot of smaller software programs and smaller websites that were going to start disappearing eventually. NC was (is) a great project & a brilliant idea. There's no other program no the market that does anything quite like it, and I'm sure this would have (perhaps will again someday, who knows when) kept evolving into an essential part of any serious player's software kit.

Uuugh. I really hope this can at the very least stay availible as is (minor bugs & undeveloped features that were in the works aside) for those who have paid for it, invested a lot of time into setting it up, and (like me) plan on keep using it as long as I play online. Really hope you'll at least maintain it so it's accessible/downloaded able, etc. Sigh.

I did use 2.0.0.40. Downloaded 2.0.0.43 today and everything worked fine. Thanks a lot!

Today it automaticly updated to 44. Unfortunately the Backup Notes Function during setup didn't work. I waited about half an hour and nothing happened. Had to cancel it. And now all my color-definitions seems to be overwritten by the standard definitions and the note definitions are missing completely (nothing active or inactive).

Something is obviously going wrong here but I am not clear on some details. Did NC prompt you to run the wizard again when you updated? That's not supposed to happen - it's only supposed to run when you first install. Somehow your files are getting deleting but the patching utility has no capability to do that...

I want to try it, but there is a problem:
I have 950k hands in my DB and with 12 HPS it takes like forever to let NC write the notes. Anything I can do or has my computer really to be running for one complete week now?

after it finishes processing all the hands in my database, will it then automatically start to take notes while i play ? or do i have to do something ? just open notecaddy, fire up a husng and it will automatically take notes for me to see during play ? sorry for the insanely noobish question

There is always work being done to improve performance but it is an ongoing process. Have you tried increasing your hand buffer size in file->settings->database settings

You can try 100k hands and that may help.

Yes, as long as you have the "creating notes" tab open (and don't click stop), it will keep polling your database for new hands. When you play live, it is recommended that you use tools->caddy report so you can get a view of new notes and the ability to play the hands in the replayer. Additionally, this gives you an easier way to mark hands if you multi table

Yep, I tried it and increasing to 100k H. A friend of mine is trying to and is swinging between 40 and 500 HPS on a lower system. 2 cores too, but laptop system. I am on a desktop computer, x64 Win 7 with 4 GB RAM.
Only difference: I have 3 Starstables and HEM open. Tried to stop HEM import, but makes no difference.
Tried now with HEM off, no difference. I cant get more than 13 HPS.

I am running it with the proper permissions. When I tried to start it, it looked like the setup when installing the first time. I tried several times to start it (start menu, directly with notecaddy.exe etc., evertytime only the setup window opened). I also had to enter my key again.

Well, I made a backup of the whole program directory one week ago. I copied the definition directory and the ColorDefinitions.xml back and it seems to be ok again now. Maybe it was a problem with the beta version you have sent to me two weeks ago?

This would be very sad. Your program and tireless attempts to improve it would be greatly missed.

I send those beta builds to people all the time and haven't seen that before. Hopefully this was just a one time thing

I don't have anything else intelligent to say on this just now. I would say stay tuned as the new version that has been in the works for almost 6 months now will likely perform much faster. Not sure when it will ever be released though.

I looked into merge color coding but it seems their color code notes file is stored in some non human readable format so I don't know how to make sense of it. I did contact rpm support but didn't hear back so I may need to try again on that.

You are the coder/supporter, right? So, you really tell a possible or better say "def" customer to wait for something, whats already in developement for 6 month instead of trying to help out?

ok I'm really not sure what you're not understanding here. The program just won't run any faster for you right now. There's isn't some magic secret that I can tell you that will do so. Does that make sense?

Honestly? Not really. It makes no sense, that the program does 200-400 HPS or something on a lower machine and I´va got 13 HPS maximum. And the developer should have ideas, why this is the case.

I mean, on the one hand you are complaining about no more new customers after the black friday, I tell you, that I ll instantly purchase and you dont care.

I understand about the frustration, I understand, that it would be just 50$ from me, but are you really sure, that this is the right way ? If you wanna give up, OK. but showing this kind of afford to help possible customers is like giving your project up.

Hey Sreti, I just noticed the update which must have happened in the last few days. Like the new sorting feature for defs. Does this mean you're still working on the program? ) Hope the future isn't looking quite as grim post-black Friday for NoteCaddy.
