I recommend running color coding with logging enabled. It will take longer but the log file will have an explanation of why each player did or did not qualify for a color.

1.10 facilitates this analysis by providing the "test color definition" function. However, it will be at least 2 more days before 1.10 beta is ready for non software-enthusiasts to try.

I want to make a definition for how often enemy raises the turn in a certain situation and using variable $turnhandrange.

However I only want $turnhandrange to list the turnrange that enemy raises with, and not also to list the turnrange that he calls or folds...

Is this possible? Thank you

Right done that not sure Im any the wiser tho.

One player does not appear at all in the log for color coding check

Another it says the following 4 times but never checks against the definitions.

9:16:38 PM getting hem cash player stats for ****

Another It seems to think the hands are from medium sized game even though they are all from FR

Game size: Medium
8:43:54 PM Testing against color definition: 1 Rock
8:43:54 PM Definition: 1 Rock did not match for player **** reason: wrong game size

You have to copy the definition xml files to c:\program files (x86)\notecaddy\definitions

The import function in the software itself will be back by sunday

This is very doable and assuming you don't care what happens pre flop or on the flop, should only require very few steps. For the description just put "raises turn $turnhandrange" and then for turn actions select only the raises. This should be easy since there is a "select all raises" button in 1.09. If you're already daring to try 1.10 there is a "raises" section with a select all button.

It's probably better if you email the log (in a zip file) along with some player names to support@notecaddy.com

Also it seems you may have customized a color definition. If possible please include your colordefinitions.xml in the zip

Greetings

I'm trying to use this for omaha hands on FTP, but I keep running into this error

This software has encountered an error:

Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. Line: 0

Would you like to automatically send the details to support?

I extracted the files in the zip to the notecaddy folder, and it seems to have worked. The gui is different (and much better looking & user friendly), and the omaha support is there.

I just keep getting that error, though.

Running Win 7 64Bit

I really hope I don't sound like a smart ass with this answer and I apologize if I do but did you click "yes" on the error screen? Doing so sends me a wealth of information that I can use to figure out what happened and get it fixed.

No.

I figured it would be an easy configuration tweak. I searched this thread and didn't find anything similar.

I'll try it again. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it. Now, I'll extract the files into the folder & run it again.

I'll send you the info in a minute (assuming it happens again).

edit: So I did it again. The initial note taking is error free. I cannot see the notes on the players, but when I "export notes to text file", I see that notes have been taken.

So I found a player with notes that I could see in the txt file, but there were none in FTP or in the "player note history" in NC.

I then tried to synchronize, and that's when the error popped up.

The info was sent through the error popup.

I think Ive sorted it now Ill let you know if I have any more problems. There was something wrong with my FT notes.xml file. I deleted the old one and started again.

Another quick question why does NC put this ® at the end of some players notes?

The r is so nc knows that it generated the color. If the r isn't there then nc won't change the color. In short, this is to prevent colors you select from getting overwritten.

Does NoteCaddy report notes added? Does anything show up when you do file->export notes to text file?

I have 3-4 people who I trust to accurately report whether everything is copacetic or not and only one of them is satisfied right now. I also think he is afraid of hurting my feeling since he has already reported so many bugs.

Long story short give it a few more days

1. yes it reports when new note is added

2. when i do this it asks "would u like the export to contain manually entered notes ?"

Does anybody have a good color coding for FR using this color code:
Red - Good Reg
Orange - Normal Reg
Yellow - Weak Reg
Green - Fish
Purple - Rock
?

I am still a little confused by the missed opportunities radio button under the general tab. For example if I want to see % of times the BB folds to an SB steal attempt, would I check the do not take notes for missed opp button or the define opportunities by action button.

You would pick "opportunities by action"

In fact, I went ahead and made the definition.

http://www.assaultware.com/help_defs/FoldsBBvSB.xml

Fun fact: The big blind folds 58% of the time in this scenario on average, at least in my database.

Okay, so I downloaded the latest version.

Unfortunately, I get the same problems.

That is, I don't see any notes in the "player note history" of NC and the color coding produces an error.

So I decided to check Full Tilt to see if the notes work.

They do!

I used the "find a player" function and found that the notes are there. Unfortunately, they're not color coded. This makes it hard to know who you have notes on as you play.

So it's the color coding that is the problem in my case. The actual notes are fine.

Thanks for all of your help, SretiCentV

Answered via PM. I did receive your log file via email and will be reviewing it later.

So note caddy is generating notes for you. The notes should show up in the note icon you have for hem/pt3. In many cases, pt3 users are using custom hud layouts that have the note icon removed. It could also be for hem though. You just need to go to your hud configuration and make sure the option to view the notes in the hud is selected.

i think i didnt make it clear the notes are being added for example i can see:

[PF]posts dead(1) such a note

but if i have my own note:

"- C/C with 3rd pair on the river" for example

then it wont add a "notecaddy" note in it

i have some players with 1k hands and my own notes on them and there's no "notecaddy" notes in HEM note window

not sure maybe its couse that i always change the HEM note icon into blue color when i take my own note

so i will tell u what i did step by step:

I installed the software, i connected to the HEM DB, and i clicked start i took very long time to finish (large DB i guess)

then i started my poker client, and i did notice some notes that note caddy generated but only for playes that i had no notes on

The only thing I can think of is that you may be using some character that is confusing note caddy and it won't write the notes. Please copy paste the notes from a player who isn't getting caddy notes into an email and send to support@notecaddy.com
