where is you support page?

tried it out and it just comes up with a message "Dealer Message must be set to Everything" then shuts down.

obv, i checked to make sure dealer messages were set to "Everything"

also curious if this program requires you to run a specific theme - like "Default or Hyper-Simple"

Currently, this twoplustwo thread is the PS-BetPot support page.

At startup time, PS-BetPot check the following restrictions :

1. PokerStars instance is running.
2. PokerStars Language set to English.
3. PokerStars Dealer Messages set to Everything.

If the above restrictions are not pass out properly, PS-BetPot will shut down.

This 3 restrictions was verified before the release on Win2k, WinXP, and WinVista.

The message "Dealer Messages must be set to Everything" appear when :
1. This settings was found on PokerStars software.
2. The value of this settings which was found at step 1 is different from Everything. If no value was found, no message is displayed.


The PS-BetPot buttons themes and any Custom tables themes are non-exclusive, so there can be used any combination of PS-BetPot buttons themes with any Custom tables themes.
In a future release, PS-BetPot will alow activation of Custom buttons themes.

How resource intensive is this?

System resources used by PS-BetPot :
1. less than 4MB physical memory.
2. 0% increase in processor time usage of the PokerStars instance or any system processes.

so you're saying it doesn't work? or just that if it doesn't work for me, i'm basically on my own to try and figure it out?

PS. The above problem was due to the fact that on your computer running WinVista, in PokerStars working directory was found an older/shared PokerStars WinXP installation.

could have been the .test version that i had installed

seems to be loading ok now - now i just need to figure out what settings i like and test some more

The latest PokerStars update denied acces of 3rd-party software developers from reading the chat box dealer messages. PokerStars support try to fix these problems asap. In the meantime, we thank you for your patience.

This is correct, and this was the purpose and intent of the change — to deny malicious third party developers access to hooking ‘DrawText’ to extract data from the dealer chat window. It was also intentional to disable “Dealer Chat: Everything” for non-players.

While we recognize that there are many third party odds calculators and other real time tools that are absolutely not malicious and in fact are permitted on PokerStars, malicious tools such as bots and dataminers also retrieve their data in the same manner, and it agsinst those developers that such measures are designed.

While unfortunate, some permitted apps are likely to be hobbled by the changes intended to prevent cheating, and there’s little that we can offer you in way of a solution or a way around this. We can’t offer you an API to the data (or malicious developers would hack it), and we can’t go back to using DrawText. We believe it more important to keep the malicious programs out than it is to allow permitted programs to continue to function.

I wish I had a solution for you, but the truth is that additional changes will be forthcoming to make it even more difficult to gather “real time data” from the client as well. If a cheating program manages to find a way to code around these changes, we’ll plug whatever hole they exploit as well (which may well break any solution you come up with for your applications as well).

I wish I had better news for you, but that is PokerStars’ position on the gathering of real time data from the client. All I can offer is apologies that your application had to be caught up as “collateral damage” in the war on cheating applications.

hes worried because your program is closed-source and you could easily install a keylogger or backdoor so that you can see his cards. all poker software has this potential except open source or AHK scripts where people can review the code to see if the author is honest or not
