This software looks like it could possibly be amazing. I'm still going to wait until some other people try it out before I do, though. The RBCalc incident still lingers in my mind.

For those of you complaining about the price, I don't understand why. I personally see more of a move towards subscription fees rather than single purchase products for poker software. So many people complain about product X not getting many major improvements, but you can't expect a developer to keep working their ass off if you're only paying for it once.

With a monthly subscription fee, we now have more voting power in regards to what gets added to the product, and the developer has incentive to meet our demands. Plus, many of us are making, what? Anywhere from $20 to a few $100 an hour. Paying $3-4/month to increase our average hourly rate by even $1 (it will likely be much more) is a great deal.

How do you import a list of names?
Can you group by tables?

From where do you want to import the names?
How do you want to group by tables?

So sick bro : Send me a PM regarding Stars.

A text file (tab or comma deliminated) ie. screenname|site whatever you need I'll make. One at a time sucks.

Instead of seeing what table a buddy is at, show tables with qty of buddies at them (and how many waiting if it's easy).

How many waiting isn't critical.

We will add it to the feature list. I don’t see any issues in implementing a comma delimited import! We will take a look and see whether to implement the table view in the Smart Buddy interface or the Table Shark interface.

Hey,

Could you e-mail Pokerstars and then paste the correspondence with them explicitly allowing your program?
Still waiting...
You are telling me they haven't got back to you in what, two weeks now?

is this going to be dockable to a side of the screen like AIM?

We have not looked into making the Smart Buddy window dockable but that does seem like a cool feature we should add to our list.

is there any way to verify that there's nothing malicious in this application?

does anyone with a high post count know these guys and vouch for them?

It seems obvious that OP wants to avoid this topic.

Poker Pro,

With all due respect, you haven't answered TheProdigy's question. I believe Poker Stars has a very strict rule on what is allowed and what is not when using their site. It appears TheProdigy is asking for something concrete from Stars saying, "Smart Buddy is OK for Poker Stars". Not trying to bust your chops, but I'd like to know also. Please advise.

Orange, Cudjoebill,

Poker stars has specific rules for products it allows and does not allow.

1. Any program that shares hole card data with other players or programs is colluding, and is prohibited.

2. Any program that works off of a central database of player profiles is prohibited.

3. Any program that plays without human intervention (a "bot") or reduces the requirement of a human playing. For instance, an "auto-folder" is prohibited.

4. Any program that collects hand histories and player information from hands in which you are not a participant is prohibited.

Our products do not contain any of the prohibited items.

Sixth Sense is doing basically the same (and more) as Smart Buddy and falls in the same categories as it.

They are banned from Poker Stars. So in my humble opinion Smart Buddy would has to be banned as well or Sixth Sense has to be unbanned.

Keep the farts alive,

Sixth Sense was on their prohibited list when we didn't even support PokerStars, so it was really in error. We designed the SS PokerStars support to be in compliance with their TOS, see here for more details:

Yes,

I will pay for this program and would love to use it. This, or sixthsense, but since it is scanning my own tables using my own PT databases, I wouldn't expect a monthly fee? I remember PTS(Poker Table Scan) was just like this and cost a one time fee as it wasn't like they were keeping things on their server and running up bandwith.

But once again, I would like to see some proof, and you have handled it very unprofessionally as it was easy to get an e-mail from Pokerstars. Also, you simply ignored the fact until you couldn't anymore, which is also unprofessional. That said, if sixthsense releases something and it is one time fee for Stars only, then I will most definitely be using it as he has handled most situations with much more professionalism.

Any idea how long this will take to implement? What's Table Shark?
05-17-2007 , 09:31 PM
I am not sure where it is on the feature list but it should not take very long to implement. We will be releasing additional site support next week and will start on some of the requested features at that time. Table Shark provides a table centric view of all the tables and the players from your buddy list.

We did contact PokerStars and are now waiting for their reply. We will post it as soon as we have it. Thank you for your patience.

Software looks nice.
Do you have any plans in making the network protocol public?
I would like to have an easy to parse text oriented protocol so
I can write my own apps.
Like I would write a miranda plugin and a tool that notifies
me via sms if a very big fish goes online etc..

Is it possible to launch the tables through thi program like on Ultimate Buddy or a player search on FTP or PS? For me, this is a must have feature.
