BTW, Viscer@l, how did you find out about this? This thread was long gone.

The problem is, people read about it, think it's a good idea, download the client, log on, see there's no one there, and leave. They generally stay online for about 30 seconds. That's obviously not long enough for anyone else to log on and play with them.

But the real problem is, I'm not advertising it, and it's really hard to get a poker site off the ground - to get a starting player pool. It's the reason you can get such great rakeback for starting tables at new poker sites. It's also the reason you see so much advertising. Right now, I'm looking at two ads for PokerStrategy.com, one for PokerAce.com (I've never heard of it), one for Poker Cash Deals (never heard of that either), and one for PokerStars.

So from sites I've never heard of, to marginally successful sites, to very successful sites, all feel they need to spend the money to advertise. I can see why. People have a really short concentration span. Most people probably read one or two sentences of this post before wandering off.

So what am I going to do? I'm going to keep writing the software, and creating the website. Even though both are very useful and usable right now, neither is complete. So first, I will put my effort into making the software really good, then I might start going to some effort to tell people about it. But I accept that probably most people will never know about this software, because I'm not advertising it to the masses.

I'd like to try your software, but can't get the links to work. Not sure why. Did you move your site again?

I've been rewriting it as a web application. See here for more details: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/16...ining-1326082/

I've shut down the server that was running it, because it was costing me money. I'll turn the server back on when I have the web application to the point that it's useful again.

Hey, just read about this now, seems pretty interesting. Can you give an ETA on when it will be available? Would love to give it a spin

I'll have some serious time to work on it over the Christmas break, so probably early next year. On GitHub, you can see my work rate (measure by commits, which is more a measurement of activity than output): https://github.com/RangeVsRange
