When PT3 installs PostgreSQL (the database server), it sets the password for user postgres to dbpass I believe.

Sometimes hands where shortstacked villains are all-in are not visible in the holdem luck graph. This hand for example won't show up:

1) How do I read / analyse this graph.?

2) How is the expected value calculated, when 2 hands collide.

3) And the red line vil only come above 0, if I get more lucky that expected ?

4) How shold the blue, green and red line show if your are a perfectly pokerplayer..

I'll try to give some answers.

The green line should incline without big drawbacks. The blue does not (only) depend on your skill but on the kind of players who bet against you, so you can not say how this line should go for you (a perfect player). The red line is the difference between the green and the blue one. So there is no "this line should go as follows"

Am I wrong of the software has problem with some multiway hands?

your calculations are in winnings, the software calculates profit. Also note that there are 2 pots in the hand, the main pot is about 680 and a side pot of about 380 I believe. The software displays these as 2 separate points in the graph and 2 separate rows in the list.

The password "dbpass" isn´t working, I always get this message:

Failed to connect to database server: FATAL: 28000: password authentication failed for user “xxx”

If I use "Auto configure from Poker Tracker 3" the program only imports 1000 old hands.

Do you know what to do?

I think i am playing good, but still losing cause of my bad luck. I don't know how can i fix this.

i don't know how to read those graphs... it's better when blue line is above green line or oposite? if "expected" line is lower than "actual" line that means that means i'm running better than expected?

Are there some generalizations that can be made by these graphs? I can't imagine ever having my redline go above 0 long term because of my style of play. Some statistical analysis is probably needed. Maybe actual bb/difference bb and then your aggression factor probably comes out in All ins/Hands played or something.

All-in luck is basically independent of style of play. In the long run different methods will not lead you to be any more or less likely of being >0.

Also, I love this software.

I am definately a computer noob, but every time i DL the program, it opens up winzip and then when i click on the program it insta-stops and gives an error message saying "holdemluck has stopped working"...

Any ideas?

have a problem with SNG luck: when I started it first it starts importing automaticaley I guess like it's supposed to (Finding New Pots/Calculating equity for new pots...) then after a while another window pops up Exception while processing hand (i.e. 6569). See log for details, which I have to click ok quite a few times before it's done.
Then under the hands tab I can see a sorts of different hands but only hands not new then march 29th. And I played since then. and on the graph it doesn't show anything only "All Dates(T264,527)".
Holdem Luck for cashgames works great by the way.

Is there anyway to make holdemluck work from just straight hand histories? I would prefer it if it would work with HEM but understand that task is going to be hard since HEM structures their HH's diffrently from PT3 but is there a way to just read from a group of hand historyies or any other database?

Hey, i have been trying to get this to work for me but cant seem to get it to...

So i entered the settings when the settings popped up as:

- databse - postgres
- username - postgres
- PW - dbpass

This got me into the program but as soon as it opened, it gave me the error message...

"Fatal error. See log for details: ERROR: 42P01: relation "settings" does not exist"

No HEM, sorry. I examined the HEM database schema and it very cluttered IMO which makes it hard for me to come up with the queries required to pull the data out. Note that HEM already has some sort of EV graph as does the new beta version of PT3 so you can get some idea how good/bad you run.

You're connecting the wrong database.

postgres database is the main database that manages all the other databases. You need to find the name of your POT3 database. Check your PT3 Database Management window and you'll find it.
Note that you need the postgres name of the database, not the PT3 name. Find your database in the window and select it and then press the Edit button. You wan't the value in the Database box.

Hands are imported from PT3 . Only Graph doesnt work , it just shows the amount of chips won with a "blank box"
