Have we settled on the best dedicated server? I preferably want a free trial and a boatload of cores. Any suggestions?

Hi,

When I log into monker viewer I get "login failed" I already made sure monker is allowed through the firewall

I emailed you about it to both emails and got no reply (over 10 days)

How can I purchase monker if I cant even log in and nobody answers my emails also?

thanks

The tree size would depends on how big the accually whole game tree would be with every action available preflop but with just 3 bet sizes post 33 65 and pot and allowing donks with like 50 100 and 200bb
The problem with Monkersolver is that it doesn't scale that well with cores. Software usually needs to be optimized to work well with that sort of hardware, primarily because it is multi-socketed (multiple CPUs).

A tree of that size would likely take more than a month to solve. My suggestion would be to try to break down the tree with multiple solves, or to create a more simplified tree, as opposed to try to solve one very large tree. Not only does it take a long time to solve very large trees, but the costs can also get very high, and mistakes can get very costly.

There are some good tips on the Monkerware website on how to build simplified trees:

Trials you typically only get with spot instances, such as are offered through Google, Amazon or Microsoft. There is a guide for setting up such a server for testing here.

You could probably get one of the big dedicated server providers to offer you a trial, but they would probably only do that if you were talking about renting some serious server time with them (10k+ USD/mo).

If you don't already have a license, you could simply try creating a new account.

The transaction was declined by my bank. Once I called and confirmed it was not fraudulent I tried to purchase a 2nd time and it went through fine.

why I cant get any answers from email support?
so I added 3/4 pot bet in a tree, i can see it in table when I solve it, but there is no 3/4 pot buttton in response section, why?
where I can see any tutorial where you build a tree a solve simple hand?

On the lookout for a server to run Monkersolver on aswell at the moment and also found this server.
This should be enough to run PLO postflop sims on it without a problem right?

You likely didn't build your tree correctly. If you want to make a simple tree to test the software functionality, go to custom filter in the 'Tree' tab by creating an empty game tree and then right-clicking at the base of the game tree, and typing 'AUTO' in the first field, and then 'Apply'.

You can load .rng files with Monkerviewer if they are in the proper folder structure.

Those are solved preflop solutions, yes.

My post was in response to bbbvvvv who said that he had already contacted his bank to see if they were blocking his transaction, which they weren't in his case. Glad you were able to resolve your issue.

Perhaps you can try a different machine and/or internet connection to see if you can troubleshoot the issue that way somehow.

ok but I have only one computer which has the RAM to run the program.

Also I have already changed internet connections and this did not fix the problem

Are you official monker solver support? why can't my emails be answered?

Can someone tell me how to assign ranges to each player?

Because I use a Mac I had only a small amount of time to try the demo version on a friend's computer. After I set up a simple NLH HU tree I couldn't figure out how to assign ranges.

Also, resources (tutorials, videos, etc) seem to be very scarce.
Help much appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi, I have a couple of questions in regards to tree building. I know how to add an action for the entire tree with the custom filter, but how do I remove an action for the entire tree? Let's say I want to remove all donkbets, how do I do that?.
Also in regards to the add to all feature, how can I add to all a size for all bets, but without taking the raises into a count? Let's say I want to add to all bets two sizes, but only have one raise size.

Thanks.

I have a few questions for seeing the ev of specific spots instead of the whole tree of a spot. For example, O8 3handed I want to see just how much ev is captured by the BB capping an OTB rfi and SB 3bet if the BB checks flops or cbets all flops and vs the ev of flatting all and a SB cbetting 100%.

If I build a tree w/o cold calls and just this scenario, I can have the BB fold to SB 3bets and OTB fold also so that the game tree gets truncated...this will result in seeing higher ev for SB but speeding up the sim, I just am interested in the BB/100 difference in the options so can I do this w/ those non-normal folds preflop and keep all else consistent? Basically I'm trying to isolate one spot to see if it adds the ev worthy of complicating the game immensely.

Or say I want to see if the BB defending a slightly tighter range yields the same ev. I did a tree that negates the effects of removal by doing otb opens, sb folds, bb calls. When the tree begins I force the otb and BB ranges...for some reason though I get way different bb/100 where one simulation adds up to 25bb/100 and the other adds to 0 so the numbers are very far off.

I'm not affiliated with Monkerware.

You can not assign ranges to a preflop game tree. You need to do this once the solve has started from within the 'Solve' tab.

You can not remove all donkbets. Separate bets in the betting sequence with ';'.

No, doing this will skew the EVs and ranges, because the SB captures 100% of the pot when the BB folds for example.

Thanks, so i cannot isolate spots...So for this scenario how would you go about comparing the ev's?

I can do the full sim of bb capping and cbetting and another w/ him checking. Then I can do bb flat all to sb 3bet and the ev when sb checks and when it cbets 100% ---> the problem is when bb flats then the pot size stays smaller...can I still just look at bb/100 here to see what is best?

When I run a preflop simulation I realize I can browse every flop. When solving preflop, how many iterations per node (or another indicator) should I wait for for having reliable postflop solutions? Let's say I would like to solve the entire headsup tree with two sizes. Thanks.

I would recommend running to 20ish and then re running turn/river sims with the flop ranges

I understand thats a pain, but I have never had success making a master preflop solution that you can take all the way to the river. Even at 50+ iterations the river results were always wonky. YMMV

Is there anyway to grab all those flops w/ the amount cbet or checked? Or can you only take screenshots of the board overview?
