Hi,

I rented a 320GB RAM server on vultr because I wanted to run some larger tress. I edited the MonkerSolver.l4j file to use 300. And yet any tree I run even just over 20GB is making my software shutdown with no message.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hi,
I rented a VM, and I can't install Monker via my link. Every time the same message "The connection has timed out. The server at app.monkerware.com is taking too long to respond."
I mailed to support but it doesn't answer.

Same problem. Installed Monker on VM with 256G Ram. When trying to make a simulation, it shows only 6,22G free RAM...

Target a minimum iterations per nodes of 10, and beyond that what you write is correct, monitor for significant changes in strategy, every 5 I/N or so.

Any other idea?
You have the correct folder structure. I'm not sure what is producing this error. If you are only seeing this with one specific file, then perhaps this file is corrupted. I would recommend contacting support at support@monkerware.com and asking for assistance on the matter. If you suspect file corruption may be the issue, I would recommend trying to re-export the ranges for Monkerviewer from the original file.

Can you run a 20g tree with these settings?

-Xms3g
-Xmx24g

Generally I would recommend setting your Xmx value to a smaller value, ideally that of the game tree you are trying to run, and then adding 4. There is no need to change your Xms value.

This might be a firewall issue. Make sure that Monkersolver is allowed through your firewall on your server.

Have you edited your .l4j file, and increased your '-Xmx' value? Make sure to restart Monkersolver for your changes to take effect.

That is correct, checks/calls are added automatically as other actions are generated.

Hi,
is there any way to delete postflop actions?
E.g. for a complete 6max tree to delete every all-in on F, T and R.
I know the option "ad to all" but is there also an "delete to all"?

Hi,

I maybe able to get a hand on some old server hardware that is being moved out of the data center, what is the maximum amount of RAM Monkersolver supports? What about thread count? Does it scale well with more cores?

Seems to only open if i change the Xms2g line to 0.. but then it does not solve

From the 'Actions' field in the bottom right corner of the 'Tree' tab, select the action 'ALL IN', and then right-click at the point in the game tree where you would like to remove all-ins and select 'Remove all'. To my knowledge there isn't a way to remove all all-ins more efficiently than this.

I would be careful using servers with DDR3 RAM or earlier, if that is what you are contemplating, due to potential poor performance, especially with very large game trees.
To my knowledge there is no limit on how much RAM or how many threads you can use.
Monkersolver does not scale linearly with cores, and running very high thread counts (128+), may not be advisable for some game trees. Generally it is preferable to have newer architecture with lower thread counts, as opposed to older architecture with higher thread counts.

Are you maybe referring to Monksolverfree? The main Monkersolver.exe definitely works. The Monkersolver config file should look something like this:

-Xms3g
-Xmx8g

And for Java, on this web page https://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp, you need 'Windows Offline (64-bit)'. You could try remove all Java installs from your machine first, and then reinstalling this Java.

Yep the free one, as trying to use it to run rivers with vision plo. Which you are meant to be able to do

I can't see my mkr files and can't put 'UP' like below.
Does anyone same?

What's the minimum RAM needed to solve 9max or 6max preflop?

Does Monker support nodelocking? I saw that you can force frequencies, but can you force specific actions with specific hands?

Would 192GB RAM be sufficient to solve 200bb 4-player spots?

I should also specify that this pertains to Hold'em, not Omaha

I'm trying to load a postflop saved run from my server on my laptop. The saved run file is 8GB and monker usage goes from nothing to 9GB when I load it but it is not loading the river - node count shows 25 million instead of 14 billion and when I navigate responses to the river it is blank. I have reloaded the same file on my server without issue. Has anyone else experienced this? I've messed around with "max streets" on the load window and have set Xmx to 14GB.

Hi,

I'm using Monker to sim river spots from vision flop and turn spots. Is there a way to filter the displayed data so that is not showing me hands that get to the river in that spot with a very low frequency?

Thanks!

If you are trying to use Monkersolver free in a way that was specified by the Vision team, maybe you can bring it up with them and they can help you resolve it more swiftly.

I have the latest Windows 10 updates, and I am not sharing in your issues. If you think the update broke your Monkersolver install, I would recommend using a restore point to go back to a time before the update and see if that resolves your issue.

Yes.

Your question is too unspecific. For example, in the latest update there is a solution for 9-handed NLHE that requires 5 GB RAM, but it would be trivial to make a 9-handed tree that requires 1 TB of RAM.

You can lock specific actions to specific hands using Monkersolver.

It sounds like your save file is 8 GB of compressed, and not raw data. If you are trying to load all streets from a compressed file, you will need to have significantly more RAM available than 14GB. You will approximately need the same amount of RAM it took to solve the game tree.

If you 'sort by' combos, then low frequency hands are placed towards the end of the table.
