HM3 works great - at least when popups load in a timely manner. Often the popups take forever to load (10 seconds or longer) - or sometimes not at all (or at least not in time to actually use the information). This did not seem to an issue I was having til sometime around August to September or so last year. I can't afford to wait 10 seconds or longer for a stat to load during a difficult decision for obvious reasons (timing tells).
H2N (H2N3) loads stats quickly and reliably, every time ... but the problem is for whatever reason ... it bogs down my PokerStars tables. They start to lag pretty bad esp when I get up to 8-12 tables. I was thinking it was probably because of Aurora ... but today I tested it and as soon as I closed H2N everything was as smooth as butter again.
I've noticed in some of my recent sessions I've been tilting from the lagginess on H2N (and also have had some of the same issues with HM3 when stuff doesn't load...) For example, sometimes when I click a button on Stars ... it might take a few extra seconds to register ... slight delay when flipping back and forth between tables with hotkeys ... just general lag all around. Another issue, sometimes a HUD panel from a different table will be overlaying the table I'm actually looking at... so I have to make sure to "click in" to the table I am actually trying to use, because if I click the HUD panel first it will take me to a different table (since that panel was overlaying the correct panel...) Is there some kind of GPU usage with H2N? I notice it works smoother on my gaming laptop with a GPU but any computer with an integrated GPU gets really choppy (the issues I describe happen on the laptop with GPU too just not as bad).
Is anyone using PT4 experiencing issues like this? I don't want to drop money on PT4 just to try the features I need (custom stats, customized popups) and find out it is plagued with similar issues ... custom stats are disabled in the trial version - so I really cannot do a proper trial.
For the time being, my solution is starting to lean toward switching back to HM3 ... and to try and notate / remember opponents tendencies better, so that I'm not in the dark as much when stats won't load. Probably a good skill to have in general as a player.
In regard to H2N ... I have already tried running a custom Postgres server and doubled many of the resources available to H2N compared to the defaults ... but there seems to be no performance difference ... which I suppose means the bottleneck is not Postgres related. That makes sense, because the stats on H2N already loaded pretty much right away. I have a very strong CPU (Ryzen 9 7900) and 64GB of RAM - the only weakness in my setup is no dedicated GPU. Just using the iGPU on the Ryzen 7900. That is what makes me think there may be some GPU related issues with H2N. My gaming laptop is the Asus Tuf Gaming A15 and has a Ryzen 4800H, 32GB of RAM - but it also has a GeForce 1660 Ti ... and although there is still some of the same lag,it's to a lesser extent than my desktop which has far superior specs other than the GPU.
It's really too bad H2N gets laggy because if it wasn't for that, it's up to my expectations and exceeds them in some areas.
