You should check "reset regret" when running the first time after making any manual node locks or other changes to the tree.

CI=10 is alright as a starting point. Most users work in the CI = 5 - 10 range for day-to-day calculations, and lower if you are creating reference solutions for charts etc.

You can find more information about that here:

You can use "Reset Strategies" after like 50%-75% of the calculation time, it helps to clear out some low % noise in the strategies. Doesn't really matter a lot in terms of results overall.

Hi, I'm trying to find out what the overall Ev difference is between certain preflop strategies for example where one player only plays small 3bets vs that same player also having shoves.

Hello I am thinking of buying HRC. A friend showed me some basics yesterday of how to use it for Bounty (PSKOs) tournaments.
I noticed one thing during basic configs.
This was a GG Poker Bounty tournament.
The setting under the drop down where PSKO is selected is labelled "Instant %"

I was wondering what I should set this to for GG Poker bounty tournaments, because the value on the table is the amount you instantly get, but the added on head amount is different.
So should I set the Instant % to 50 percent, or 100 percent?

And then when I type in the bounty amounts for each player should I use the amounts listed on them as seen in the GG Poker table.
My friend types in the bounty amounts as seen on them on the table, and because that's the amount you instantly get, he uses the 100 percent for the "instant %" setting.

I wonder if this is right, because is it still appropriately sending through the progressive amount up through the player population during the simualtion/calculation when we use the 100 percent setting?

Otherwise we could use the 50 percent setting, but we would have to double the values as seen on table, but I dont think that would be right because I'm unsure if that would send too much up the progressive. I don't have HRC yet so I can't test, but I guess one way to test would be to double the values and use 50 percent, or use as table seen values and 100 percent and we should get identical results?

Thanks for taking your time to read this, much appreciated.

You should leave the Instant% setting at 50, this is correct for almost all PKO style tournaments around. If your site displays the amount that is paid out instantly then you need to double that when entering in HRC (so you get the total bounty amount). In the latest beta version there's an additional option to enter either the total (KO-T) or the paid out (KO-P) part of the bounty, see screenshot below.

Do NOT set Instant% to 100 when it's really a 50/50 standard PKO (50% paid out on elimination, 50% going to the eliminator's bounty). This is not equivalent.

Thanks heaps! I thought this might be the case.

Definitely wanting this feature in ASAP that's in beta currently.
Because it currently means there's a bad contradiction where you set KO vs PSKO, if you set KO it SHOULD lockout the instant % box to 100.
If you set PSKO it SHOULD set a greyed out on instant % 100, and force you to select anything other than 100 percent.

In other words, it becomes a really bad and contradicting redundancy that doesn't serve a software redundancy/bootstrapping purpose. Rather it instead just ambiguous-ises itself.

There's no redundancy?

If you select regular KO then the "Instant%" setting isn't available at all, it is locked at 100% and not configurable. The setting is only visible if you select PKO.

You can switch to the beta already if you want to give this a try:
